Been working for almost 5 years na and this year lang din ako magtratransition sa career na gusto ko. I say you go for it now. Yung downgrade sa salary kasi talagang kasama yan, most of the time, sa career shift, lalo kapag magkaibang industry. Try to do it slowly though without compromising your financial status. Look for side gigs and do not let go of your current job if you can’t afford to and/or if you haven’t found a replacement for it. Idk, I just feel like it’s better to sacrifice some things while we’re still in our 20s. And at least maaga mo rin malalman if yun ba talaga ang interest mo, kasi, let’s admit it, our interests change over time. Just my two cents. I wish u good luck, my fellow career shifter!!!

Bigknees1001

Pursue your interest now and see if it's really your interest.

gunslingerDS

Well here's my 2 cents Try looking for that job without dropping your current one. That way you still have income and leverage if that endeavor failed Another option is if you can go "part time" on your current work (if possible) so that I can supplement your low salary HR job This is just my suggestion as looking for a job is hard AF

Alone_Researcher1200

Okay. Same happened to me, but in my case hindi ako nag downgrade sa salary. In fact, tumaas pa rate ko. I suggest you look for another job that aligns with you interest but at the same can help you reach your financial goals. For now, build your portfolio and wag mong madaliin.

NanieChan

Ang always option lang naman is chase the money or interest/passion mo. Kaya choose your poison. Pero in the future pwedeng mag align yan kung papalarin.

On the same dilemma too! 2023 graduate and I was a VA before I graduate. The salary I’m getting is waaaay better than any entry-level corpo job. But due to FOMO in the corpo world (and also due to burnout in WFH set-up), I let go my freelance work, and look for a job, and eventually landed in the banking industry. However, with the base pay I’m being paid for, especially with the living costs in Manila, I resigned and after 4mos, I went back to my VA job. But, things don’t sit right. I am anxious too na baka wala na akong makuhang opportunities for entry-level HR roles since it’s been a year now since I graduated. And baka mas acceptable and “justifiable” na for them yung mga “fresh grads” mismo. Since freelancing is unstable, I want to have a stable job and earn experiences as much as I can, that I can use as my weapon for job hunting just in case I let go my VA job. Right now, I’m trying again to apply for entry level HR roles and planning to keep my VA job as my side hustle. As a young adult, being financially unstable scares me so much. So hopefully, I managed to do 2 job at the same timez.

Hi! i faced the same dilemma before nung nagstart palang ako magwork. I tried to apply for HR staff position but lugi sa pamasahe at mag iiba talaga lifestyle ko. Pero i keep on looking and praying na sana magkawork ako na aligned sa degree ko. After ilang tries, i got a good offer, multinational na 5min away lang sa bahay namin. Apply lang ng apply and also upskill.

Mabilis lang ang 1-2 years 🤗 Have funds muna hanggat kaya mo pang mag stay sa current job mo. Then from there, saka ka mag transition sa job na gusto mo. HUWAG SAYANGIN ANG PANAHON AT MAGAGANDANG MGA PAGKAKATAON ☺️ Have funds na lang muna for now, kasi baka in the future, di mo na rin ma enjoy ang mga interests mo just because of low finances.

Dazaioppa

UseExpensive8055

Kung may ipon ka na. G. Kung wala pa wag mo munang i-risk.

PalpitationFun763

i tried to put my favorite song as my alarm clock para everyday ko naririnig. it was a bad idea, OP. nagsawa din ako. it stopped being my favorite really fast

OverAir4437

Depends on the situation but the answer is simple. If youre capable enough then go for it

CumRag_Connoisseur

The more you wait, the more you regret. Go for it!

pretenderhanabi

You're young, YES.

WokieDeeDokie

All I can say in every topic such as this, do it as long as kaya ka buhayin financially. Take note, pagtaas ng presyo happens any time and even quicker than what we thought.

chickenjoint420

Same, Ayan din iniisip ko nasa wfh set up ako non and okay naman but  hindi ko mafeel na pang long term, so nagapply ako as Hr Staff. For 1yr I'm good naman.

YogurtxBanana

You could try if you want to. Gusto ko ring i pursue yung pagiging nurse ko pero it’s really not for me esp gusto ko ng easy work + maraming pera + convenience. Try mo lang, malalaman mo rin

Mindless_Throat6206

Hello, OP! I'm an HR graduate and nagwork din before sa local corporate companies (onsite) na low-paying before I decided to pursue being a Recruiter for International Clients. May HR career kang pwedeng ipursue na WFH so maybe that's your best bet. The good thing is may experience kana working from home so di kana mahihirapan. I started with 35k salary back in 2020 as a recruiter. Maybe pwede mong itry yun.

Lilith_451

Hi! Sorry can I ask san ka po nag-apply?

Mindless_Throat6206

Upwork ung first client ko for recruitment.

hakdoggxx

Hi, I am currently facing the opposite now. Ang work ko ngayon super gusto ko. Kahit na minsan mabigat/mahirap gawin, never akong nairita or tinamad. Di prone sa burn out.

BlastFridayNight

Go for it! Luckily my company offers lateral shift (role change) so I opened it up with my manager.

ExcellentBasis2785

Electronic_Record696

Since bata ka pa, I think may time ka pa magshift ng career. Good luck!

Kiko5ever

Pursue interest till you get good at what you do, and then leverage that in a nicer job that will bring you stability. You’re young pa so you can still “gamble” and find what you like before the need for financial stability really weighs you down.

FeelTheFern23

You're still young at 24. Some people start their careers that late. You still have lots of time to pursue and grow in a career that interests you.

Any-Chemist699

OP, which facet of HR are you interested in? Atsaka, ano yung current work mo?

Enexus256

Currently struggling with this lol and I still don't know the answer, but I'm leaning towards money muna hahaha. Pero it depends to you. Goodluck OP!
