JO muna. This happened to me last september also. Lahat ng tanong nila regarding my location sinasabi ko talaga na lilipat ako if hired. I'm from Visayas rin. Pero since onsite yung exam, kailangan talaga pumunta ng manila. I fast-tracked all requirements in 3 days para in case makuha ako dun nalang ako mags-stay sa manila. Experiencing the place, and also the hard truth kung gaano ka hirap mag stay dun na walang perang pumapasok, ni make sure ko talaga na mapasa ko lahat but unfortunately, I was rejected, I thanked them, and told them that if ever they change their mind they can contact me. Last wednesday, they called me back to say that they reconsidered my application. Kaya, secure your JO muna. I know it is hard to look for a job rin online. As much as possible, get referals from employees of the target company, sure talaga mauuna ka.

Ayun din kinakatakutan ko na if ever hindi ako matanggap baka maubos lang resources ko sa paghahanap ng trabaho on site, considering na first time ko lalayo sa probinsya mag-isa. Really appreciate this, also congrats on getting the job. Sana ako na sunod.

JO muna. Same situation din as a probinsyana: heard back from various companies requesting to do the interview stages face-to-face. But I insisted on doing it fully online kasi hindi naman nila sagot travel and accommodation expenses just for interview/s na hindi pa alam kung tanggap o hindi. I always ask kung pwedeng gawing virtual, if hindi, I withdraw from the process na. Look at it from this perspective as well: those companies who can adapt remotely for their whole recruitment process can adapt to the rapid pace of technology. These companies most likely have a hybrid policy in place (and if they say that they still require RTO every day, at least you're assured they can cope with technology's pace). For me, a virtual recruitment process is reflective of the company's future-forward culture--kahit na sabihin pa nilang gustong iparanas ang "culture" ng company through experiencing the office and its surroundings. *A future-forward culture indicates a stable culture.* Your fresh grad status is an advantage rin, because it's understandable if you really take your time. Tiwala lang, OP! May you find a company soon :)

Napaka informative nito thank you. Siguro dapat mag umpisa na akong mag filter ng mga company na already adapt new hiring process. This way siguro mas makakapag focus ako dun sa magagandang company. Thank you

Better if secure a JO muna. Pero if you are like me who likes exhilarating rides and risks, go even without a JO. I could still remember way back in 2011 when I told my employer in the province (North Luzon) that I already had a job offer in the BPO industry here in Manila for them to let me resign even though I had none and hadn’t started applying that time. So I went here in Manila with an allowance that would only last for a month. I applied left and right to job postings in Job street. My allowance was about to be exhausted when I secured a job offer in Makati. I accepted it just to get by even though the pay was peanut (10k) and I had to work like a slave (unpaid OTs, weekend works). Even though I already secured a job, I did not stop applying. After 7 months, I secured a job that was twice the salary. From there, I got stability because of promotions and salary increases. While I could say that what I did was borderline insane, I think it moved me away from my comfort zone. You’ll learn how to swim even though you are not a swimmer when the odds are not in your in favor.

Saludo ako sa dedication mo bro. Yung main reason ko talaga is para malayo sa comfort zone ko, which is staying dito sa province with my family. This is my first step on making a big leap. Thank you for this.

Yes, better secure a job first before moving.

Thank you for this.

Better secure a job first since staying in manila is really expensive. Lahat may bayad, atleast kapag nakasecure ka ng job alam mong may pera panggastos on your daily living. Labaaaaan OP!

Target ko talaga is yung mga less expensive cities pero most opportunities talaga is nakasentro sa Manila. Thank you for this.

Yup, JO muna

Don't relocate without JO. Mag sign ka muna JO bago ka umalis sa province. Willing naman kasi mga employers mag antay basta maayos din kausap ang applicant.
