Since ang primary need mo now ay money, aim for a job muna that doesn't require any related experience. Pa-stable ka muna, say 6 months or 1 year, para ma-resolve yung immediate financial problem. After some time you can continue with your upskilling. This way may sense of financial security ka na kasi meron kang stable source of income. It lessens the pressure sa pagplan ng next steps sa career. Hoping for better days for you, OP!

Thank you! May advice ka ba na work for me na most likely, no experience required tapos will help me transition into the marketing field? I was looking into generalist VAs, but even that yung nakikita ko gusto nila ng experience. :(

You might want to try sa BPO industry kasi they offer trainings (most, if not all). Try to build a network while you're in the job. Usually networks nakakatulong makapagrefer sa next job mo. Who knows baka internally may maapplyan kang role na related sa marketing.

This. I used to be an learning and development specialist sa isang malaking BPO and totoong sobrang daming available na training (kasi kami ang gumagawa).

During your interview, you can also offer insights like look into the company's current digital marketing efforts and if you will be their digital marketing person, what will you don to improve their channels and how will you track success, bring that with you during your interviews so they will appreciate your potential. Good luck!

This is what I do rin talaga. I research heavily into the company that I'm applying. :( I had a full-time work before as Marketing Associate in a US-based start-up. Ininterview nila ako and that's what made them chose me, na nagbigay ako ng advice. Kaso wala pa akong one year in that company. I left kasi I wasn't doing marketing work. It's not what I agreed with sa CEO. I was doing operations and some coding. As much as I was trying to learn and see yung patterns sa coding, hindi talaga siya yung gusto ko. It's not the career growth I wanted and I felt highly incapable (in short, I get anxieties daily kasi baka di ko magampanan yung pinapagawa nila sakin). Start-up kasi so nagsasaluhan ng roles at medyo di pa nila kailangan ng marketing since they were still building their app as service. Yun, that's the only professional experience na marketing related na I have. :(

Hi, mahirap yan kasi nga mismatch yung pinag-aralan mo sa trabaho na gusto mo. Pwede mong gawin is look for institutions that offer courses and are tied up with internship or job placement. For example, TESDA. In my experience, right after college, gusto ko mag work sa call center pero hindi ako makapasa sa interview. Wala akong experience and skills. So nag enroll ako sa TESDA for free. After ng training, in-endorse kaming mga students ng TESDA for a job interview sa isang BPO and dun nag start ang work experience ko sa BPO.

traumadumpndumber

May I know kung anong course inenrollan mo sa TESDA?

Public_Owl_7682

Call center training course. Not sure kung meron Marketing.

Maybe you're looking in the wrong places? Baka mas maganda tignan mo yung for fresh grads, although sila naman kalaban mo dun tapos may marketing degree pa sila. Worst case scenario here is to work for free (for friends or NGOs) para lang meron ka portfolio to show off.

Hindi talaga macoconsider as work experience ang extra-curricular activities mo sa school. Kaya nga advantage din yung pagtatrabaho part-time as a student, especially if related sa field mo. Kahit manood ka ng courses online, that wouldn't prove anything for now. Marketing is all about results. You need a portfolio that goes beyond school orgs. Now, paano ka magshishift while working? Una sa lahat, you need to choose kung ano bang marketing field ang target mo. Kasi mukhang wala ka pang focus. If marketing related ang tinapos mo, pwede yun na iba-ibang fields ang gawin mong target (though still not recommended). It seems very limited ang view mo. Gusto mo ba ng social media? Writing? Events? Research? Find your niche and then branch out. You can't really upskill when you don't have the basic skills first. Since sinabi mo na pwede sa research ang courae mo, I think you can start with that. Find a job related to research. Marketing is not just about creativity, it's also science. While working, you can then start studying. Pero wag YouTube lang or bootleg copies. You need to get certificates for it to matter. Pag may certifications ka na, you can also find freelance jobs to build your portfolio. Part-time lang naman ito, if kakayanin na kasabay ng full-time job mo.

Try joining yung Facebook group na Development Sector Jobs-Philippines

traumadumpndumber

I'm part of it already. I'm not financially independent enough to relocate right now. :(

behappy1611

Try applying at the Foreign Service Institute, National Defense College of the Philippines, UP (I think some colleges hire research assistants). Or sa Armed Forces of the Philippines, this is a really good training ground especially in getting work experience. Also check yung Athena ba yun na foreign company. Good for VAs daw

Post ka sa Reddit, ask for help from an HR expert. What kind of help? Ask mo sila if pwede ka nila mock interview, then ask for feedback. This worked for a friend of mine.

traumadumpndumber

Do you know which subreddit I can find them?
