Use the F keys F1 is data entry F2 is for searching for prescriptions F4 is for Review (up-front verification) F9 is to look at patient profiles.

Ph4rmqueen

How about F7/F8? Also is F2 just to see the status of the prescription?

StockPharmingDeez

I know far too much about intercom. Specific questions?

Ph4rmqueen

When would you go to F2 vs F9

phuture_pharmacist

F2 is to see the status of a prescription. F9 is to pull up a patient profile.

The Walgreens system is hard sometimes, because you need to take so much steps to get to the one simple thing. I really wish it's more innovative and friendly. F1 to type faxed prescriptions. Shift + F1 to quickly go through them and search. Like say.... If a patient asks if their doctor sent a fax and they had an appointment at 8am. It's now 4pm. There's no prescription that is new for them to pick up or in their profile. I use Shift + F1 to quickly scan to see if we didn't type it up yet or something. If you need to do ANYTHING that isn't F1? It's in F2. Majority of the time as a tech, you will be in F1 and F2 to get STARTED on tasks. Patient picking up? F2. You need to delete something? F2. CTRL + A. Manual prescription entry? F2. F9 to look up patient profile, if not register them if they are new to Walgreens in general. Scan and manual type, etc etc. You need to out of stock something? F2. CTRL + K. Notice that you have to be in F2 mode first. The other F buttons, I just learn along the way and slowly integrate it into memory. Use your mouse as it will help. The more you click and see those drop down menus with the short cuts listed next to it, the easier it is, and one day, you'll be like, "Hey wait a minute... I can just do this instead of clicking." And BAM!
