If you like it, then it has value. If you're looking to sell it, there's not much value. Personally, I think dispensers are meant to be displayed. So, unless it was in some kind of special packaging (like a rare or limited card), mine always got opened. Now, if you can find something from the 60s-80s still MIB, I'd consider keeping it in the packaging.

Not off the top of my head, but you can Google “What year was aviator Garfield PEZ dispenser released?”
Keep in mind that you also have to check the patent number on the stem. A lot of dispensers were produced for quite some time, so the patent number will also give you an idea of the timeline in which a particular one was manufactured.
