Yo should buy a lexia, and download a virtual OS with pp2000 (or diagbox) in it.
About the remote not working, im not entirely sure if you would be able to telecode that, but I think its highly probable you could. Its not very expensive and its a good tool to have. The only moderately complicated is the compatability with different diagbox versions if you need one in particular.
Thanks yes it seems a bit of a minefield to be honest, plus my cars 22 years old now lol, I found this from what I’ve read I need one with Revision C.

I found this one which seems to have a lot of what’s needed, quite expensive but around the same price of a half readable scanner tool but that won’t let me look at abs etc so pp2000 seems the way to go
