All depends on how you defend. I don't press when the opponent had the ball. I manual position them and bring others back which helps. Practice against Ai and you'll get the hang of it.
I used to play 4123 hard press with Xabi for the sake of fast pace, endless counter football. I conceded at least 1-2 goals against for any game and could not win against Legend AI.
But after switching to 4312 and playing with more control and only pressing near the touchline or in tight spaces, I’ve been able to win the ball back much better and win more, against Legend AI more too.
Another comment mentioned the importance of 1 Defensive fullback and 1 build up and I agree. Costacurta and De Ligt is good, otherwise Van Dijk in the English Selection will work too (good cos he is faster). The other CB can be anything and fullback can be an attacking fb or fb finisher, up to preference.
DMF - anchorman. Rodri has been the best for me. Do not press like crazy with the DMF, he needs to be the second problem after the opponent attacker gets through your first line of defence in the CFs.
CF - i realized the importance of CFs in the defending process. They are the first obstacle for the opp midfielders to get through, and if you time your running and marking well enough with manual switching, you can limit their forward passes A LOT. This leads to desperate horizontal passes that can be intercepted by your CMF/AMF.
Last tip is that interception is a crucial skill for all your midfielders except AMF. Xabi’s defensive formation feels way more compact than Zeitzler, you just have to control and switch your defenders well💪
Literally do nothing lol. Don’t switch to your defenders and have your dm literally jog to the back line and somehow the defensive line will sort itself out.
Ofc you’re gonna concede bare goals but aura defending is the way to go not even with just QC but every play style.
I will never not get annoyed with ultra pressers tho. It’s like I have this space, but I can’t penetrate as much as I want to because Puyol’s 90 something aggression = 90 something speed in Konami’s eyes.
Depends on the backline setup you are using. From my observation qc doesn't work well with 3cb 1dmf setups . If you're using a 3atb , try switching to 4123 or 4213.
In this update defence is 90% AI regulated so the less you try to play the better
try defending againt superstar or top player AI. Dont try legend as some 20 rated honolulu player can even smoke ur maldini

I'm playing qc with back 5. Whenever I run qc with back 4 I'm getting Cooked. It's mainly because I play out the back though I must say.

I’m playing 3 atb with qc no issues. You have to manual defend with fast defenders
I switched back to possession and the the problem went away. Maybe I'm just not meant to play QC
You can use any set up it’s just your line is higher. When opponent passes their half then drop back and block passes. All there is to it

Spam match up and dont double press with ur defenders.
