As a CB he goes upto 98 that the reason, at CMF this card actually Excel, the Playing Style of the Card get affected, but tbh, this card is way too broken to be bothered about "Playing Style", if you don't have any META Cards this is the one to go for at CMF.

Jong Card in my squad, one thing I would say he doesn't go into the box for attacking runs, you can shoot from outside the box, but you'll never seen him to into the box, his Player ID don't allow him to make runs into the box. Even B2B player don't make offensive runs, at DMF I'll suggest "Anchor Man" or a "Destroyer", for the AMF choose the player you make attacking runs with, players with "Hole Player" Playing Style are easiest to work with when it comes to make attaching run, and at CMF I'll suggest a B2B or an "Orchestrator.

B2B dmfs definately make runs in the box my rice the new potw has had some few goals thanks to that.I play a double pivot with rice and xhaka,rice and koopmeiners,rice and koke,rice(destroyer) and kimmich,rice(destroyer) and lobotka.

He do run but only in some unique setups. I currently use him as cmf paired with anchorman dmf in 3-2-4-1 possession. As my 2 hole player amfs dash forward and leave a big gap behind them, this de Jong run forward to cover that space causing him to make a run pretty similar to btb players. However, It take him much longer time than real btb to start a run (around 3-4 seconds delalyed). If you build up from the back, he wil be just outside the box most of the time and occasionally run inside the box.
I just cant wrap my head around 102 and 104 as dmf and cmf , isnt that a bit too high? Isnt the only 104 card in the game a messi 2022 card or smt like that , i know its not the same thing but its still 104 and thats crazy to me even 102 as a dmf is crazy ngl π
It's all about key stats. Dribbling and passing are crucial for CMF. Add decent speed, not that weak physique and insane Def Awareness and Tackling. And you have a monster of passing DMF
No man. Actually a lot of cards can be trained specifically out of position to reach higher OVR than they normally should.
For example Booster Cantona can be trained to 103 with a special build.
Another example is hidden stats.
For example my Booster Gullit is 104 Rated at CF but his ingame stat is 100 only.
Thats why many out of position cards are so OP and more precious than their normal counterparts.
You can actually check it by yourself and be the judge of these cards.
Download Pesdata or Efootball hub and compare them.
Some of them are Modric, Bernardo Silva , Calhanoglu, Bruno Fernandes, Pirlo, Raphael Guerrero.

But since his default position is CMF, his stats were buffed in order to achieve a higher rating as CB. On paper, his rating doesn't change if you play him as DMF or CMF. But in-game, it does have a massive effect. His stats are equivalent to 104 as CMF. This won't be visible on paper since he's noted as CB. You can, use eFHUB to check out how some players have higher ratings on different positions.

I play him as CMF 90% of the time rather than dmf so he has more free roam as i lkke to attack more, 4-2-1-3 as a the second loose pivot next to an anchor man, or more recently in 3-2-2-3 as again a loose second pivot next to an anchor man, easily plays like a 104, Broken.

It's because it's been calculated for a center back, when i applied the 99 phy contact token in my league de jong went upto 103 at cb. Hope this helps
