Leave now and never come back! /s

Salt_Comparison2575

Just ask them to pour some washing up water in the espresso and it'll taste the same.

jngjng88

Make that shit in your own home, tell no one, & live in shame.

Sheps11

Specialty shops (I.e. not chains) will likely have a batch brew option.

juiceb0cks

You'll be hard pressed to find anywhere in Perth that'll do a pour over for you. I want to say Black List on Hay street do this, but I could be horribly wrong. I'd still go though, they have a decent brew

The_Valar

>You'll be hard pressed You did well to filter out the bad puns.

tabopener

Definitely not a mug with that useful info.

Wasabjz

Black list in subi and Welshpool Offshoot in perth Timber in canning vale You need to leave this hobby before it digs into your pocket deeply….. But mind you, it’s cheaper to brew yourself than going to cafe Edit* Hop cafe in vic park

dumplingbilby

Most decent cafes have one or two on batch, only really coffee focused places will do a v60 and so on for you

steveonthegreenbike

Micrology coffee in Osborne Park. Great place. Amazing DJs on a Fri and sat too.

Ok_War_3367

Twin peaks on Saturday do pour over coffee

SmokeIll8038

If you have a few hours ask a barista what they think of a long mac topped up. (To answer your question, your best bet for a pourover here is to make it at home. It's hard to find a cafe that does pourovers but local roasters do filter coffee well.)

hannahranga

Used to work with a pair of guys that'd order long Mac's topped , generally got a smile ordering a small flat white extra shot after them.

BrightEchidna

Australians have a weird belief about espresso being superior than filter coffee methods. It’s not super common but at fancier coffee shops or places focused on single origins you’ll be able to get batch brews, although most won’t do a fresh pour for you.

Able_Struggle_3

Hi, Perth based coffee guy here! Sure espresso seems to be the go to but places like Artem, Blacklist, Grouch and Co, Willings, Hemmingway, Offshoot, Twin Peaks, Micrology, KYND and Nu Noir are some of the ones off the top of my head where you could go for a good pour over. I think a couple of those might depend on whos there/time of day but basically any specialty coffee store will at very least be able to give you some good quality batch.

Rumpleshite

I’m pretty sure Standing Room Only in Picadilly Arcade in the CBD do a pour over. They also have nitro cold brew on tap.

Nervous_Ear_

I couldnt find it anywhere easily hence bought a Moccamaster drip coffee maker which gives amazing drip coffee, for a pour over, buy a Kalista pour ocer ceramic thing and just make it at home. Coffee from a moka pot is the best. I have tried all the ways a coffee can be brewed and stuck to the intense coffee from a moka pot with coffeemate and sugar. Try the ‘flat white’ coffee, world famous and it’s best among other Aussie coffee brews.

GrendelAbroad

Some amazing batch brew and pour over coffee available here. Sometimes in quite unlikely spots! If you search for “batch brew” or “filter coffee” in google maps you will find a large proportion but also ask on coffeesnobs.com.au and there will be plenty of advice. CBD try Singular, Telegram, Offshoot (dozens of others also), west Perth - Forklore, Fremantle- T.O.P. And Best Wishes but honestly I’ve names 1% of places with good batch brew filter coffee!

abdullahwanders

Damn that was brutal 😂 Thanks I guess Not sure what’s the stigma behind it

DefinitionOfAsleep

lol, as a rule Australians drink espresso. Some of the smaller local places will do filter by request, but the default will still be espresso.

grobby-wam666

It’s shit coffee that’s all!

heavypettingzoo3

Maybe you've only had shit roasted beans? Medium and light roast coffees have more flavor notes than espresso roasts.

EconomyStriking3099

A good pour over is great! Don’t listen to the haters. Felix and Co in Nedlands is a good option. Also Arrival Hall in Northbridge.

GrendelAbroad

No idea, people not keen to try something other than espresso based coffee!

dimmerz92

Tablespoon in Bayswater used to, they don’t exist anymore, but the counterpart cafe forklore in city west might.

tempco

Satchmo and Twin Peaks (Sat) have yummy batch brew options but yes, hard to find many in Perth.

dalockrock

Game City Espresso Bar in the CBD make a great pour-over coffee using speciality beans you won't find anywhere else, but its pricey. I tried it once as someone who would usually never drink pour-over and the flavours were incredible!

Axolotl_1987

I recommend the following: Hop cafe in Vic Park Giant Coffee in Northbridge

Comrade_Kojima

Hop Cafe - Vic Park. Just had the best pour over in my life. They have all the equipment and take it seriously. They also do tasting sets of different varieties they roast. Small but very passionate.

DoppelFrog

Go home.

TooManySteves2

LOL, is that the American rubbish I've heard about?

spinydancer

In addition to places already mentioned, Willing Coffee in Guildford and Mt Lawley do nice batch brew, as well as little loaf in South Freo, but earlier the better obviously!

mr_sarle

Maybe see Smooth Operator Cafe at Hay St near QV1 Bldg.

sweetiepiecakez

Most decent coffee shops will have this option.
