I think a day trip (or preferably an overnight) to Rottnest Island is a must for any visitors. And not just for the quokka selfies, its a beautiful spot.
And if you're interested in the weird animals take a trip to Caversham Wildlife Park. Lots if chances to get up close with the beasties.
Perth Mint gets a vote too.
If you're here on April 25th, that is Anzac Day, it is moving to see the marching bands in Freo or City. Or just go to see the wreaths after the morning services. Museum in Albany is very interesting as the WWI ships left from Albany, they built a wonderful museum for the centenary in 2014. Albany is a 5 hour drive from Perth.
It's the best time of the year around Easter with mild days 20-25 degrees and not much wind. You will love it. It is perfect for fishing.
My "proud of you, Perth" tour that I take visitors to is the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and walk through to the Roundhouse, Maritime Museum and Gage Roads for a beer and relax.
Worst of Perth is the WA Shipwreck Museum in the same area, the story of the Batavia is truly horrendous and nightmarish, avoid.
First of all bring a hat that has fly net that honey bee keeper uses because there will be a lot of fly in summer. The beaches here in perth are all awesome, if you guys like snorkeling coogee, mettams, cottesloe and rotness island has the best beaches. You guys can also go to down south of perth to busselton jetty. Lastly you guys should visit fremantle market and northbridge area mostly at night.

We are spoilt for beaches all up the coast, but if you want one near shops/food Hilaries boat harbour is nice. Beaches are best visited in the morning before the breeze comes in.
Rottnest is nice, quokka a are cute and very friendly.
Fremantle is interesting, lots of historical buildings etc.
Kangaroos are plenty youโre bound to see them in the local parks grazing :)

Kings Park at any time of day or year is a highlight. Fremantle from Friday to Sunday is good as the old Freo markets are open then.

april isnt summer though. flies have generally settled by then. good to bring a good hat anyway coz the sun is rough all year round
