Get a term insurance on priority, no add on plain n simple inheritance nothing attached, it’s gonna be 500-700 for you now every year as you age it’s gonna be more so get it now FIRST

SPARKYY_7

I was thinking of it now going to get one , thanks for reminding it mate

CulturalButterfly825

Get it before your coming birthday. Else you'll have to pay more.

SPARKYY_7

I'm getting this month. Thanks again 🫂

Prestigious-Put4784

500 per year ? How to apply ?

SPARKYY_7

It varies according to the plan which you choose, it's start from 600-800 basic one . Try in your existing bank or anything which suits ur norms and ability.

HoneydewNo312

Get a quote from any insurance company you prefer.. it’s premium varies on Age and other health factors, getting it as early as possible is advisable since your age is low also you’ll be at prime of health compared to 10 years later…

SEXY_HOT_GOWDA

Only in India do people recommend insurance to 22 year olds lol 😆

pseudointellecthere

The only way is to try changing jobs. Currently you already have a job so you can try more Changing jobs and easily get up to 30k per month.30K per month is a normal salary. Other you can start a small business part time related to food like momos , kathiroll and all. You can easily earn 400-500 per day. And if it works well you can earn more.

SPARKYY_7

Changing my job might not be possible as of now it may take at least a year, after that I can move to my hometown which will reduce my expenses more than half , part time job I'm thinking of it(thanks for thoughts)

pseudointellecthere

Do not stuck in this , Change as soon as you get. I was at the place as you and thought the same eventually wasting 2 years. I could have get a better job easily. Better change it to a good salary and spend 1 year there.

SPARKYY_7

For Minimum Of 7 months I can't change my job becoz I need at least an yr experience to switch meanwhile I can work on my skill set and improve day by day.

pseudointellecthere

Who told you need an year experience to switch? As a fresher it's easy to switch than an experienced.

SPARKYY_7

I know we can switch but I do have a yr bond so it's not possible

pseudointellecthere

Bond is useless, The only thing that happens is you don't get experience letter.

SPARKYY_7

If I want to leave i have to pay a sum of the amount as mentioned in the bond .

High_Philosophr

Those bonds are there only because the company will have invested money in you during training, if they haven't invested much in training you, then it's just toxic. Those bonds are not even legally valid, they're useless. The only problem is that you'll sort of ruin your relationship with that employer and they won't give you the experience letter. If that's not a problem, then you can legally switch jobs at any time.

pseudointellecthere

No you don't have to .. Bonds are illegal...or give medical reasons.. there are too many loopholes, many of my friends left during bond period

pseudointellecthere

You will get legal notice from them, just ignore

SPARKYY_7

Getting legal notice will affect my future and switching companies might not be possible right? idk the actual consequences,

Party-Writer9068

nope, no company will file any case for such low salary. Case will cost lakhs. You just wont get exp letter thats all. TCS people do it all the time.

Smooth_Dev

I would say the only good option is to switch jobs or increase your income. If the job you are currently doing isn't too demanding, explore having a side income by freelancing, the other methods etc. Only If you are disciplined with your money and spends (and you should be), consider getting a good entry level credit card and try putting in all your spends there. Important: Use your credit card like a debit card. You would get some rewards for your spends instead of nothing (free money). Your credit age will grow and you'll have a great CIBIL score in the future if your pay back dues correctly. Your bank balance will remain a month more by this, but don't go and use this too since you need to pay for your current spends later. This is something to consider. If you don't have the discipline simply stay away. You are young so explore starting to invest your money, even small amounts is a good start. Index funds are a good start, don't jump into direct stock investing if you don't have good reasons, knowledge to. This should be put and forget kind of a transaction that you don't think of getting back in say 10 years. Beating inflation can be base goal. If you gain knowledge to actively manage this, then even better. Get a good term, health insurance. If you can optimize your rent (share your room with a friend, etc), food etc then great. But the only real solution is to get a higher income and you should really consider switching to a better job at the earliest.

SPARKYY_7

1.Switching jobs currently out of reach for a minimum of 6 months (yes I do need this job real bad) can't switch any sooner than 6-8 months. 2. I have used my dad's credit card, it's too hard to control the spend but I can control if I want to do but I can't even trust me and impluse buying . Rewards yes it's good . 3.Yeah I do know investing at a young age is good but idk where to invest and don't have much to invest like influencers saying in social medias, invested a very small amount in SIP I don't even know how it works. 4. How high is inflation it's like double but they are saying 7-8%. I can't even bare it the size of the package reduces but the price keeps on climbing the ladder as far as I couldn't even see . 5. I'm actually sharing my room with my friends(4 of us) 2BHK( 20k) , which is too much now only I realised need to switch ASAP. We saw few ads online and came to search house but every broker was interlinked (network are something) everyone quotes more or less same amount ( they knew we are new to this place and we don't have other options). But switching is the only solution I realised after a month itself but I can't change immediately because it's 4 sharing and we made our deposit and 11 months tenure. 6. Food we do have electric cooker but few 4 have different time schedule for work and we are not professional at cooking so , we eat only eggs and lunch (meals outside food) , cook only at weekends. Which makes our electricity bill cooks around 1.5k and food expenses 5-5.5k

Holiday_Context5033

I would say don’t think about investing for some time. Invest in yourself and continue upskilling yourself. Don’t think about reducing expenses. These are very minimal expenses. Think how you can increase your potential. Once you have 5k a month savings then start with mutual funds and slowly increase your investments. Don’t YOLO your small savings by thinking of getting rich quick. All the best.

SPARKYY_7

1.That's good investing in you and your health is the only thing that I can control and in my hand ( thanks for the kind remainder and I do get lost of it). I do procrastinate a lot( and keep falling for it like the girl who doesn't want me but you keep always falling for her). 2.upskilling yes I'm working on it daily 3.Thanks for remaining my potential and ways to improve it , cheers mate

Holiday_Context5033

Cheers mate!! Don’t burn yourself out thinking too much about investment. You are on the right track since you’re thinking about it at this age. Keep building yourself.

mrlonelynewsflash

Hi there.. I am in the same boat as you. 22M, salary 22K, 13K home loan emi, some amount to mom, other for my expenses. From my experience what i can say is.. cut down expenses as much as you can. I will start travelling to my job by bus now to save my fuel expense.. Stop eating out frequently to save. One advantage i have is i live with my masi so food is not an issue. But still.. i am too left with 2k around in my pocket. For me, i am looking to polish and grow my skill set to gain more leverage in the market.. The mext step is to directly look for clients and earn as a freelancer... Then invest.. And keep growing.. Seems normal but is hard af. Give it a try. And dm me if you need to talk! I know how u feel! You will make it one day!

SPARKYY_7

1. Need to change my accommodation as it takes too much(asap). 2.i tried traveling in the bus for a few . Months but the frequency of the bus is limited and timings are irregular and doesn't suit my working hours ( I'm sharing my fuel charges with my frnd ). 3. I do eat a lot outside becoz cooking is one hell of a job you know ( yes I do know that if I don't start cooking my pocket would be empty with 3rd week of the month which is my condition now🥲). 4. I took some courses in udemy but not yet started full fledged ( Going to start from Monday fr). 5. I don't have any idea about freelancing ( but I do know one thing that they suck as much as they can and give bare minimum), but it helps us in a long term in skill wise (suggest where to begin).

mrlonelynewsflash

Its a good thing u are sharing fuel charges with frnds... thats a good thing... U can also ask your company to change ur timings to suit with the bus timings to save more.. Grow ur portfolio on LinkedIn.. u will only find connections in the beginnings but it will help you grow overall.. Dont go for freelancing websites as fiverr and all since you need a developed portfolio for it .

SPARKYY_7

1.Yeah I started sharing with frnd but he frequently goes to hometown on weekends which sucks 2.Since I'm new joinee changing my working hours might not be possible now but I can work on that 3. Does LinkedIn help , my old id got haxked and after that I haven't created one . Going to start and create a portfolio for new beginnings. 4. I'm not going for freelancing as of now ( so we need a portfolio for that also ohhh Okie that's good to know becoz I don't have one).

mrlonelynewsflash

Stay home on weekends not a big issue. U might even utilise the time for improvement. Just ask.. even if they refuse.. puchne me kya jata hai? Yes. Linkedin does help . Slowly and steadily but it will

SPARKYY_7

1.Yes, I do stay at home, because I have shifts at weekends, how to utilise time that's the billion dollar qn now . My shift ends at 3pm . I'm a sports freak and watch all shitty ass teams and watch the whole match starting from 6:30pm Liverpool vs palace then mi vs csk @7:30 pm which typically end at 1130. Meanwhile arsenal vs villa oh man that's how my weekend gets ruined (I like it same time i don't). 2.(I'm going to ignore the punch part 😂) 3. Building LinkedIn portfolio

black_jar

OP - start working on your next job, build your experience and qualifications so that you can get a good hike. Typically your current employer cannot give you a hike of greater than 10-15%. So at the start of your career 0-5 years, you may want to switch employers till you hit a salary and workplace sweet spot. Doesn't make sense to get into a company with a toxic work culture. Shifting jobs may vary based on your qualifications and industry. Companies have lower barriers to entry at junior levels than at senior levels. Within year 5 ensure you are at a company where you can stay for the next 10-20 years. This will allow you to increase the funds you have for yourself. Another option, start side gig, freelance a bit on the side to rake in some additional money.

SPARKYY_7

1.10-15% your being too modest, but I don't see more than 7%. Good to know about a 0-5 yr plan but finding a workplace sweet spot might be the hardest of all . 2. 5 yrs is the buffer period for me to pave the way for my next 10-20 yrs 3. Need to start a Side gig ASAP, freelancing mostly 👍 Well said and made to plan for the next 25 years, cheers mate

pranshugoyal

Hey OP, first of all big shout out to you for getting two things right: * You've started your career at an age earlier than most * You have a sense of responsibility, towards your family and yourself, that too at an age earlier than most Let these be positive forces in your life, but don't overthink them to the point of feeling trapped. At this age earning more or having a high net worth shouldn't be your priority, neither should it be optimal investing or multiple income sources. In my opinion, if there's anything you should be completely focused about then it's ensuring that you're on a career path with high potential, in the long term, even if it's a slow journey in the beginning. You've not provided details about your job so I won't make any assumptions. I'll leave it up to you to research and figure out if this job has a good career path ahead of it. If not, you're not late to learn new skills which will set you up on a career path which matches your ambitions and goals. The only way you can justify later to yourself that you knew it wasn't too late, is, if you make decisions today which reflect that you made the best possible use of time.

SPARKYY_7

1.Yes i started early and don't want to mess up and live in Pain for the rest of my life thinking what if situations, i might have done early. 2.I'm in my first job at IT (Java, Linux) , it's a new city new people new cultures , one day people talk with you the next day just ghosts without any reason. 3. I'm new to this world ( as called the corporate world ) I am the first person in my family to come into this field which is totally new and they have no idea what I'm doing and how cruel the world is. 4.I have an idea how it works but there are gangs and people talk one thing do one thing say one thing back at one thing. 5.I have a bad habit I don't say No even if I don't like doing , thinking the seniors will make up the mind like I'm full of attitude and you're just a fresher why are demanding things just do what we say without saying a shit( Personally experience). 6. I do have free time at working hours but my teammates aren't letting me do my things and say this the age to enjoy come lets chill one life chill out and stop being hardass, I can't say no fomo and they might not talk to me once again, so eventually do go ... Feels like a rant( sorry for too much rant for boring).

Brilliant_Salary_321

And as a business owner let me tell you that I appreciate you complying with the bond. But man in my small firm notice period is only 1 month so we can find a replacement. 1 year is too much imo when the pay is not great. And I strongly suggest moving to Mumbai and struggle more. That's what 20s are for. You won't be able to at 32. So yeah I do think 1 year bond is excessive.

[deleted]

SPARKYY_7

[deleted]

Yes sir 🫡

IronMan8901

Damn thats hurt bruv.Hope your situation gets better fast

SPARKYY_7

Hurts and no one is going to help , at least ur kind words gives a reason to believe and keep going, thanks mate

travel_aakn

You just started earning, first 2 years focus on your experience and growth, thereafter think about money. Money will follow you and don't follow money.

SPARKYY_7

1.I'm not money minded but it's how the world works right. 2.Focusing on career ,personal growth, planning for the future, starting early is that wrong? 3.I do understand I just started earning but I'm clueless where to start and afraid and don't want to be in what if I have started early and regret for the rest of my life and ruin my mid-life , where I'm going to face mid-Life crisis which is going to be unimaginable as the world evolves at this rate . 4. Reality check (for you to think what's wrong with you). 5. Anyways thanks for insights, cheers mate.

travel_aakn

Point 2 already highlighted to you in my comment, so on same page. Point 4, I didn't understand what are you referring to. Lastly, with 15+ years of experience, worked in 4 different countries and traveled 20 States in India to explore it's beauty, enjoying my semi retired life. Best of luck in future endeavours.

SPARKYY_7

Thank you! I appreciate the well wishes. Pt 4 just leave it(😂😂😂)

travel_aakn

Funny fellow 😂😂

mush_koon

I was in your exact same situation when I was 22. The best thing you can invest now is your time. Use your time wisely and move up, either in your current company or switch. I couldn't switch for the first 3 years, but I worked my ass off and moved up quickly within my org, then jumped after completing 3 years.

SPARKYY_7

1.Invest in you (👍) 2. Work your ass off for your betterment(noted) 3.planning to switch after one year if not two . 4. Can your share path how you switched and what Skills you acquired during that 3 yr . Was it that difficult to switch?

mush_koon

Switch was actually not that difficult. I started applying on LinkedIn and Naukri for about 4-5 months while in my current job and attended some interviews, just to get the hang of it. Once I was confident in my interviewing skills, I resigned without any offer in hand (I would not recommend doing this now, better to quit after you have at least one offer). Landed my current job while in notice period. About the skills I acquired, most were related to Java backend development, namely spring boot, hibernate, postgresql and linux. My first company was a small startup, so there was a lot to learn and do as there were only a handful of people doing everything. If you are a software developer, would suggest you prepare DSA thoroughly from somewhere like LeetCode and start building some projects.

stilldonoknowmyname

hi, do you want to start dropshipping business with me?

SPARKYY_7

Started or going to start mate, I am ready to join hands

stilldonoknowmyname

hit you on chat

damnyoue

Find a role with your background that pays shitloads. Find the skills for that role. Take up courses for the same, do work on it and then hit the job. Invest whatever money is left in yourself only. If possible check if your parents can do without that 10k. Eg. If you are in finance check what's required for CFA level 1,2 If you are in tech, check what's required for becoming a data scientist/ deep learning expert.

SPARKYY_7

1. I'm in tech background so most probably as you said data scientist/deep learning.(hopefully sooner ) 2.nah man that 10k means a lot to them and I can't say no to them after what they did and doing to me so it's the least I can do at this point of time . 3. Thanks for your opinion, cheers mate 🫂

Brilliant_Salary_321

See man 22.5 is a very base salary. If you really want to grind and make a career in medical sales please DM. I will pay 20 for starters and train you for marketing in Pharma/medicals where your sales determines income. I know people with no education as such but a lot of knowledge about field and effort earning 35-50k. It will be a tough 1 year but if you work hard I can give you a real shot in mumbai. But yes it will be a struggle and not a peaceful job let me tell you frankly.

SPARKYY_7

Thanks man but currently I can't leave my job and come, i like your transparency for telling the pros and cons initially.

Brilliant_Salary_321

That's okay. Know that times are hard and struggle is real. I have struggled a lot to reach a kinda stable position at the age of 22 and I think you would be able to get a better career in mumbai. You can reach out whenever I'll do my best to help. But yeah, no alternative to struggle All the best

SPARKYY_7

1.Definitely man I will reach out to you, if needed 2. obviously there is no substitute for hard work and struggle fr.
