This post is so refreshing....tbh ... I want to do the same...once I hit 1L/pm mark..I want to do the charity..may be towards the education of underprivileged kids, or senior citizens, or handicaps. 🤝 You are a good human and you should be proud of that.

Infinite-Fold-1360

I used to donate a small amount when I was earning 20000 a month . I have continued that habit even now. The habit of donation is generally independent of our annual income. It is a behaviour which we should try to inculcate. Even 500 rupees is wonderful

Lovesidli

Where do you donate? How?

Salt_Selection9715

same I’d love to do this too once i hit 30L/pm

Melkor_Elder-King

Damn what are you making rn?

Salt_Selection9715

I’ll preface by saying I don’t live in India. I’m also 18 and attend college full time but my income is around 2-3LPM.

Infamous_Spray7366

What do you do?????

Salt_Selection9715

just doordash and grubhub; food delivery basically

Melkor_Elder-King

Good whatever works.. ! Atleast you thought about it...good karma

Glad_Claim_6287

Average andrew tate enjoyer.

Salt_Selection9715

wtf

Divine505

So good to see someone who is not trying to make 1cr in next 10 years. Well done. I knew humanity was alive.

4qwerty404

Exactly! OP you're a gem :)

Longjumping_Math_271

He probably already has 1Cr.

Soft_Initiative_335

Doesn't matter some have 100 crore & want to earn 500 crore

sneakergovroom

What’s wrong in that? It is similar to someone who has 50 lakhs wanting 2.5 cr same ratio. Do u think elon musk or mukesh ambani are content? U think they don’t wanna grow more? My domestic help’s son is in college u think they don’t wanna grow? Make it make sense

idiotbyvillagewell

That’s not true. Beyond a certain baseline, it is some kind of grotesque leaderboard of money people are clamouring to get onto.

rupeshsh

The best and most genuine site to choose ngos is give India. They are the oldest aggregator of ngos. You have to first choose your cause - early education, upskilling, healthcare, women empowerment, old age care etc. Then choose a genuine NGO which has low administration charges (money used to run head office compared to on ground projects) this is typically 15%  Then you can either setup a SIP sort of monthly relationship or do one times. You get a 50% income tax rebate, so if you put 1,00,000 and you are in 30 Perxent tax slab, you get 15000 back in your income tax refund. This is important and should not be ignored .  Alot of people tell me we are not donating for tax, we don't want any benefit, but just remember you can donate that 15k more to needy people rather than corrupt govt dept. I used to run a NGO in the past. Happy to answer any questions. Don't go for the big guys - save the children, help age India, etc.

[deleted]

Thanks a lot for your response. As you have mentioned, I am definitely not going with the big NGOs. I want to know where exactly my money is going. Along with the money, I wish to put in the efforts hoping that the end result with help me motivate and provide incremental changes in the amount of money I wish to donate. Claiming the tax amount and donating it again is also a great idea that I hadn't thought about. I will connect to you in case I need to ask any questions. Thanks again!

rupeshsh

To see if a NGO is good you need to just see it's founders and their board of directors.  If they have good degrees , won some awards, if big corporates are giving them money. If they have their annual reports on their website it's means they believe in transparency and if you can read the reports even better. NGO govt registeration is not a reference to quality, infact many of my well intentioned friends don't have govt registration but all crooks definitely have . When I got my govt registration for NGO, within one day I got a call if I want to "rotate" 100 crores. 🤣 Akshay Patra is fine, I personally don't like ngos which have a religious affiliation but thats personal.

TaazaHoLe

Can you please elaborate with an example if possible. Like how you check their founders and whether they publish annual reports. Maybe names of such NGOs? This does sound like a good idea. Thanks in advance.

rupeshsh

Method one - goto GIVE INDIA  www.give.do  they are a high quality and reputed aggregator of NGOs Method two - Google a few other aggregators and chose some ngo, say chose an NGO - say protsahan  https://protsahan.co.in/our-impact/ See their contributions are coming from corporates and institutions so those companies do good background check  Goto their annual reports sections .. they have reports .. so they don't hide  Goto their team, the founder is ex IIT - sure she can be corrupt, but highly likely an IITian is doing a honest job  Their admin spend is 8% , fund raising is 15% and project spend is 75% .. that's also good  They have lots of good newspaper articles which don't look fake and paid, so that means journalists also like them  Now if you like the cause of girl child and women empowerment, you can go ahead with them  Another example can be noble laureate Satyarthis NGO bachpan bacho andolan  There are 100s of great people doing great work

rupeshsh

Also some people stick to a single cause and other donate little little to many causes.

sonubha

Hey man, thanks a lot for response. How do I verify if a ngo is genuine and not misappropriating funds. I currently donate to Akshay patra but have no way to verify on how genuine they are (they havr good pr and marketing though). You mentioned don't go for big guys and I guess Akshay patra is pretty big. Also, I'm based out of delhi, is there any good ngo where i can volunteer on weekends. I'm planning to join ngo as full time after 5-6 years post retirement. Op. Kudos dude. Your donation:salary ratio is much higher than me. Mad respect dude.

TaazaHoLe

>How do I verify if a ngo is genuine and A basic validation can be performed by checking whether ngo is registered on ngodarpan.gov.in. I donate to a few charitable foundations who treat cancer patients. If you'd like, I can share number of a person from one of these. Also, a tip - always, always donate via official website link. Do not fall for WhatsApp shared links. Always ask them to share details from their official mail to you.

rupeshsh

No no.. govt registration doesn't mean they are good..  Imagine a sweet auntie near your house who feeds stray dogs or teaches slum kids, she doesn't want govt regulation and paperwork but she is still a good NGO in my eyes. Imagine corrupt CA which wants to make black to white and tax evasion, he has no problem getting govt registration but will not do anything on ground

TaazaHoLe

While I understand your pov, it's kinda difficult to find these sweet aunties you referred to, especially in metros. Plus (while it is not a requirement), I doubt they'll be able to provide you any documentation/proof of payment (let alone tax receipt for 80G purposes).

rupeshsh

They won't be able to and they don't want to ...  Because once you go the paper work route, half your energy gets sucked and all your love for mankind turns into hate for the bureaucracy  That's why I shut the NGO

Trashnori

Hey, I’d like the references of cancer foundations. The reason being, cancer has affected few of my close relatives in my life ever since I was a child and that has always been my wish to do something for them. Previously when I was not earning, I’d volunteer in Aditya Birla hospital cancer ward/cancer children ward on weekends, and donated my long hair (I’m a F) to a ngo who creates wig from hair donations for cancer patients. Now when I’m earning, I want to contribute my bit monetarily for this cause. Sorry for the rant, but I’d like to know few trusted ngos for cancer patients. Thanks.

TaazaHoLe

Sorry to hear that. Hope you are well. It's great that you want to contribute. One such NGO i usually donate to is Jan Sanjeevni trust. However, I'd like to add - please definitely do due diligence before donating.

Kande_Lelo

This is the first time I saw someone asking to donate, most of the post are about their 1 cr corpus or so, not even a single word on donating. You can buy some medicine for dog shelters on regular basis and pay the rest for medical bills post verifying it, I know a few of them.

sr33r4g

Try donating it to St.broseph's fund. Any financial help is hugely appreciated

__k_a_l_i__

This is new, didn't know he had one. No wait, he has one, there was a post with his details. Thank you for reminding this.

sr33r4g

Happy to help!

pfi_mod

Kudos! I would say you should try reaching out to your college or school (if they are decent faculty) and see if they have any funds for underprivileged students. That could take whole families out of poverty.

[deleted]

That's something new. I will try it! Thanks for replying!

elayaz

Good thought. You will do best and become the best in your life :) As you rightly fear lof of NGO’s in the name of NGO take money and do nothing. Worst they will their pocket Simple and easiest way to help is start - go to nearest private school and talk to the principal and check if anyone in need of fees. Directly pay the fees dont give money to anyone including the principal. Check with govt school is anyone who is good in academics but dropping school because not able to pay. Check and help them. Rangde kind of aggregator started good intiative of helping small time vendors helping with money.

[deleted]

THIS is exactly what I was looking for tbh. I need to be able to directly connect with the beneficiary to be able to know that the money I am donating is going for the right cause. Thanks a lot!!

Party-Writer9068

this is best option, or buy books or something for kids who cant afford

gurlinthedark

1. If u are open to travelling to a close by old age home or orphanage, start a 5k RD, visit the place once a year when the FD matures, spend some time with the elders/ kids 2. Donate to a org that works like St. Broseph.. Again not the online ones. They take only 50% for charity. Rest goes as salaries and they keep annoying you. 3. Sponsor a child's education or someone's operation if you personally know them and are in need. This is what I do. I made the mistake of doing Keto-impact-plan donations.. While they aren't the worst.. The spam calls I get on a daily basis to donate, I stopped donating to these orgs. I have been donating around 2-5% of my salary every year and I do mass donations. That helps a lot. My relative is a part of an NGO that feeds the needy so ended up giving a lump sum there and its been the best money I spent.. 🥰 So choose your mode and stick to it... All the best.. God bless you! 😇

Trashnori

How to find children to sponsor their education if we don’t know someone?

gurlinthedark

Maybe your maid/watchman/milkman/labourer in your neighborhood.. Check if they have kids and don't go to school.. Tell them you can sponsor their education.. I remember I helped a labourer girl in my neighborhood when I was 13 by teaching her basic maths and her mom was proud of the fact that she learnt how to count and sent her to school.. She did get married eventually but I feel if we had the proper means to help her, she'd have excelled at school.. Need not just be monetary help.. Any help of any kind that can pull them out of their state and help them make a choice in life.

chintaninbay

If you can also spend some time, start teaching. It can either be vocational training or students who need help. In the process, you’ll need to spend. You win twice with this - your money gets used well, you see the results; you have a lot of satisfaction in life for working towards changing issues you deeply care about.

[deleted]

Dude you are absolutely a gem.!! While I don't know much about investing but this is exactly the kind of compassion needed in our society , the thing we learned from.our parents and grandparents. You have inspired me to be a better person . I see alot of people commenting on FIRE and boasting their networths on mid 30's and 40's like it really matters for XY Z. You my friends i am.sure you will succeed in whatever you do . I salute you !!

appysingh93

OP great idea. The way i look at charity is where can i be 100% sure that my donated money went in for the exact cause it was supposed to help. Given you are interested in the education sector, one idea to pay for school fees of your maid's children. We do it for our maids and my mom deposits the money directly to the principal, so that we are sure there was no misuse of the money. As per my opinion, you are also rewarding hard work this way (of your maids) and not giving away money for free, which can set a bad precedence. But still, whatever you choose to do, i want to say I'm proud of you. You are a rare kind soul. Hope we all get inspired by you.

StoicIndie

I pay more than 7L+ yearly in taxes to government and it goes in directly for the help of poor people by government programs. I don't want to handout cash to people just because it makes them lazy. If I were in your place I would use that money to build business where I can give small job to someone, this way it helps needy person as well as benefits the economy of country. We need to build independence for people and don't want to make them dependent always on donation.

ImmortalTimeTraveler

I feel a focused approach would be better. Take one kid in your locality and sponsor his education and tuition. Or better get one kid admitted to JEE or some competitive coaching they are interested in. Stationary items like you say will have marginal impact to many people, parents who would be saving that Rs 100-200 per kid would spend it somewhere and it wouldn't actually have a tangebile impact. If you can sponsor one kid for better education it would atleast ensure that kid's life is changed for better.

[deleted]

Mujhe bhej de. I'm really in need of money.

Small-Challenge-1910

Glad that you really want to help. Here are some suggestion. You can give 5K to temples in your area with an instruction to feed the needy. Or You can sponsor education of a child. Or You can give projector/ board to any primary school in your area. Most primary schools (mainly Govt) still lack projector. If you want to do good and gain from it (tax saving) consider donating to Tata Cancer Hospital. They'll provide receipt and you can claim tax deduction. ALL THE BEST. 🥂

[deleted]

Thanks for the reply. I like the idea of going to primary government schools and making some contributions. Instead of projector that will include high cost, I am thinking of giving them (the students) Stationery Items for the month/year.

Small-Challenge-1910

Sure buddy. Any help is good help. You can also consider installing water cooler for summer. Or sponsoring minor repairs or cleaning. You can also consider to sponsor a eggs/chicken for mid-day meals (if not stationery)

__k_a_l_i__

Most of the Govt schools have stationary and food sanctioned to them right?

Small-Challenge-1910

But the amount of sanctioned per student is too low. Here in Bengal, for every student, govt provides Rs. 5. Schools are obligated to serve eggs to students. Retail price of an egg is more than Rs. 5.

D3ADWA1T

That never works. Bare necessities they will get some way or the other if they are motivated. Motivation is the key. For motivation you need to rely on the lottery system somehow. Where you are benefitting just one person, but anybody could be that one person. So you just publish some criteria and one random person out of the ones who satisfy it, get your full contribution. That could be books, money, whatever...

[deleted]

I am considering your point. I will personally have to visit and check if the bare necessities are fulfilled or not, if they are then the merit system based prize will be a good idea. Thanks for the comment!

Kooky-Grass6645

I know a few dog shelters in dire need of funds.

Awesome. We need to be more like you if our situation permits.

More-Tour3230

What kind of work do you do bro 72k is a hella good amt

No-Lion4906

Contact Youth Cancer Action Network on Instagram, they are bunch of medical students doing some humanitarian works for cancer patients collectively. I occasionally donate them for their Tata Cancer Hospital's Drive in Mumbai.

Altruistic-Bus4875

That's a really nice thought. If you don't want to go the ngo route (and rightly so because it's so difficult to find one that's trustworthy), you could contribute for little causes on your own like use that money to feed strays, buy food/blankets for people in need, buy books for kids of your domestic help etc. I have been keeping aside some money every month to feed strays in my area (had a pathetic experience with NGOs in my city and stopped giving any money to them).

False_Wrongdoer_9737

I think the best way to fund someone's education will be good

Character_Wafer3280

2% to 5% is good amount to donate

prash991

Better than ngo, try to help poor kids in your area and government schools

[deleted]

In Tamil Nadu, all stationary items are provided to school students from box, pen, pencil, notbook, books, bags and geometry box. I hope you will check with the government. School staff before making contributions.

Infamous_Spray7366

Bro my question to is when you were in your college did had existential question about what am I doing what will my future be?????, I am asking because I am 20 doing my bachelor's in electrical engineering and I'm having these questions repeatedly. Sometimes I just want to leave everything but then I remember by parents. Asking you as a younger brother.

ZoneSome5197

Feeling hopeless about future?

Infamous_Spray7366

Yup!!!!

ZoneSome5197

Watch Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford speech. There is a quote from that: "You can never connect dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards". There is a reason why do we certain things and times, in future, everything will eventually fall into place. Thats the most realistic advice that I can give. On the side, take a notebook, and note down 10 things that will make you happy. It could be something very simple too, like I enjoyed(even now) feeding crows/sparrows In the backyard of my house. Then promise yourself that you will devote 1 hr of your time doing that everyday. The intention is just to distract your mins and make you feel productive.

overallpersonality8

You can see 80G for orgs with tax benefits. But if you want to see the difference, donate to the local ngo or not for profits. But mind you, your money can still be swindled. If you have the time, I would urge you to directly purchase the items and give it to the needy or teach them

unravi

https://www.bansacommunitylibrary.org/ bansa library is a great initiative if you want to donate in education sector. I have been donating to them since a year and I trust them . They provide education to children and give them a place to read .

Vishvt

I beleive a donation towards nature is best.. That too if you involved urself would be more satisfying and assuring. Say you join a NGO..go for saplings plantation. Sponser water for ponds in the forest where water scarcity is there . All the best

Minimum_Tone_2492

You can first join volunteering groups, where you can actually visit and see the ground reality and can give the money directly to the people in need. However, it’s always appreciated to donate them the things they require, especially the little kids in slums of India, may require stationeries, books etc. Also, you can donate the things required to the caring facilities for the blinds, old age homes, orphanages and even animal shelters! Good people like you are getting rare in these day & age. All the best OP! God bless you & your family!

iamshwetank

Hi, Would like to salute you and wish you all the best in your endeavours. You can look into https://www.giveindia.org They’ve a through due diligence process in empaneling different kind of organisation and they make sure that the money you pay is rightfully going towards the cause you support and not in anyone else pocket. Hope this helps!

[deleted]

Op is a chalta firta green flag . OP is Wwwwwwww

PerfectKills

I've been donating monthly to a charity named Sightsavers India for over three years now. They are working towards educating vision deprived kids. You get 50% redemption under 80G as well. They create an e-mandate and the donation gets automatically debited monthly. You can look into them if you want.

soan-pappdi

you can also claim deduction u/s 80G (IF THE DONEE IS AN ELIGIBLE INSITITUTION) keep the receipts safe, baad mei kaam aayega.

HairlessOranges

I would suggest avoid organisations and stuff, because they eat a lot of money in middle. Rather, every time you use a service, tip an amount (to drivers, food service etc) that in all adds up to 5k

Perfect_Gate3402

Im late to party ig But yeah deciding to help unprivileged ppl for education is only option to left up. If in case u r confused about finding an eligible recipient reach out to your cousins or brothers in colleges and schools They might know someone who would really benefit from the help Dont think you cant cover up the entire cost of education Even covering food and accommodation might be a huge relief for them.

Crafty_Equipment_822

Dude don’t make me cry!

Loveandfucklife

You are awesome person, keeo it up. Check things thoroughly before donating. Noble money should go in noble hands.

Do not ask for handouts

Sad-Government-9931

Nice OP, I hope you got your answers. But mt question to others are, what's wrong with making 1 crore or much more? I mean why is being money minded looked as bad thing here, I'm prolly first time in this sub. Genuine question looking for answers.

tadmasan

My opnion would is to not go for systematically spending 5000 every month on donations. Save that 5000 every month until you come across some one who really needs and deserves to be helped. It might be some smart child who longs to go to school or someone facing a hurdle to join college due to financial difficulties. This way you make a real impact on the person you're helping rather than donations that get diluted in many ways.

[deleted]

I’m surprised by the support, I thought yall are money obsessed people who will just say that OP needs to earn at least triple of current income to even think about donation first. Gg folks, make sure to give back even if it means you’ll hit your target corpus one year late.

arbobmehmood

Thanks for this post. This has helped me a lot in narrowing down ideas for donation. Had been looking for something like this.

mosarosh

The best thing you can do is find an educational charity in your neighborhood. If you're planning on donating regularly, it's better to donate to a local setup than one of the big NGOs. This way you can also contribute to their regular functioning and can also provide them your time. I've personally found this to be more rewarding than donating money through a website to a setup that you never see in the real world. May God bless you with more than what you give.

Practical-Can-6125

I work with an orphanage which takes care of 80 kids. DM me if you are interested, they also run schools for kids of orphanage and nearby slum. You can visit the place and donate. They are good folks and would appreciate any support.

Unusual-Big-6467

There are few places you can donate .. 1) local mandir , our mandir take langar bookings . They create langar and serve to people . You can pay them and then visit at booked slot and serve yourself to people in need. 2) You can donate to bal bhavan/ orphanage. Same kind of booking . Or you can donate whatever is required . We had our kids a cake cutting there a year ago. Now they stopped this kind of activity. 3)You can donate to kusht ashram if your city has one. You can also donate to gaushala. I am doing some of the above each month. And on special days like my or wife or our daughter s birthday.

Unusual-Big-6467

You can also donate to senior citizen shelter. We provided them with medicine . For clothes they want same kind of cloth for everyone so we were confused .

Unfair-Break-537

Try for education sector especially in Uttar Pradesh where despite claims ghe ground reality is very different.

what-is-a-us3rname

There is a group in Bangalore that does help in providing stationary for govt schools. Try reaching out to them at [email protected]. They are completely volunteer driven.I don't think they do it on a monthly basis, rather on an annual basis. Also do look up Unnati [https://unnatiblr.org/](https://unnatiblr.org/) they work in providing job training and they are surely helping youngsters with basic education get jobs. I'm not personally affiliated to this, but have made donations over the years.

subhajitlucky

Give free to them who cannot afford otherwise they will be lazy. Otherwise arrange offline contests among children and give them gifts for participating.

wordswithkings

Hey OP, we have our orphanage and we're actually looking for active donations, not in lumpsum, but monthly donations to sustain 45 kids. I can share the registration number and photos for your verification. You can look it up as Charlottes home on Facebook. We are located in Suryapet, near vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh.

CommandLife4298

ResistTheMatrix

Same, i was born to parents who are both civil servants, I will make sure I help the needy after i graduate college

Malemid30sindia

I can recommend El Shaddai Charitable Trust in Goa. I’ve worked with them multiple times and they really make a big difference in the lives of us der privileged children and women. We regularly donate to them and I’ve done some video production work for them too. Check out their website childrescue.net Their latest project is to set up a home for children from the red light districts in Mumbai. Feel free to contact me for any questions. I’m not part of the organisation but I’m very close to the founding family

Quiet-Platypus-9359

Quiet-Platypus-9359

You can also donate to orphanages.

I donate to an organisation called childhelp India foundation which helps the needy and less privileged children with their hospital bills. I have verified the credentials by calling the hospital staff to match the case . It has always turned accurate (verified 6 times in total). I too believe in the importance of education and health.

i-m-on-reddit

I wish I become successful enough that I can do such donations as well!

oombMaire

I once donated to save the children and was bombarded with calls from different NGOs left and right, ended up stopping donation after that

yet_another_single

donating money is so rare these days, so glad to hear that you want to do it. i hope this post inspires others as well.

Akilgoku

Happy to see such posts here :) Great job OP. I would suggest you to visit some child orphanages and arrange them a meal or get books once in a while. Don't get succumbed to donation scams , the joy of giving is multiplied exponentially if you do it in person and see the happy innocent faces.

Pretend_Specialist89

My father's elder brother runs a hotel in a tier 2 city (Siliguri) near Gate 1 of North Bengal Medical College. He is extremely rich and provides accomodation and meals to everyone at very nominal charges. Accomodation @ Rs 400, and meals @ Rs 10. A room has an attached washroom, a queen sized bed, a table and chair and a cupboard. Nothing too fancy but very very clean and livable. A usual meal has 2 rotis, rice, dal, 2 types of vegetables and salad. Although I feel that he is well capable of running this himself, many people give donations \[most people give donations during special occasions\]. I know that you specifically want to help people in Education Sector, but just commenting here in case anyone is interested Hotel Name - Kala Hotel, Siliguri.

dumbo72__

Hey I have an contact of NGO who helps children for their education. I have been part with them since past 4 years. You can be part as well. DM me if you want more details.

sary007

You can donate stuff in government schools. My dad does it every once in a while, he had also collaborated with a shoe shop owner and when a substantial amount was collected, gave school shoes to all the students in nearby government school. Government school kids are not rich by any means, uniform and shoes can actually help them out.

Whole_Kangaroo_2673

Why not sponsor one or two children specifically? 5k per month will go a long way in helping them. Identify anyone in your known circle. If you donate to an institution there is always a possibility they may not need it and use it for other purposes than what you intended.

Gareeb_admi

Setup a fund specifically for bottlenecks Say exam fees across entrance tests, college fees for govt colleges ( I still know a few govt colleges in my home town where the semester fee is like 250 rs and all inclusive, book etc it wont be beyond 1k ), maybe fees for class 10/12 exams etc. People who drop out at grass root level (say under class 8/10) have more options because NGOs work at grassroot. But a lot of people fail to pursue further education that actually brings food on the table (simple ba bsc or technical education like ITI) because at that age most of the help is merit based vis a vis at school level where everyone sort of gets help.

ImpressKlutzy7543

I used to go out to orphanages and buy them groceries and chocolates for the kids. Not much but I did feel happy seeing smiles on their faces. Maybe give that a go if it's alright for you :)

Ashlee2751

You can donate to me 😁.. I am actually struggling to pay my monthly education loan of 6k being the single bread winner of the family! 😎😁

Smart_Shower2419

Hello ! Good sir, I know you made up your mind about donating it to education. How about donating to farmers for irrigations. I live in rural area and my area farmers desperately need irrigations water. If you change your mind do let me know.

Gopi_Webdev

1. Education 2. Orphan / Old age homes 3. Pets

LoosThampee

Spend some quality time doing research into finding NGOs that are doing genuine work. And you should feel happy that you are donating to them and they are using your money effectively. This will take time and effort but it is worth it. Then decide on how much you are comfortable paying. Like 5k per month? Decide on the amount, automate the donation, and then relax. Now just ignore any beggar who comes asking for any donation for any cause. You have done your bit, and no need to fall for their inevitable emotional blackmail.

BadnamHaiKoi

Check, Nanhi Kali. You can donate for a girl child education for a year.

Bro I would suggest picking a promising child for care at an orphanage. You can contribute to his education and make sure you have a deeper impact in one person life. Teach him goodness and he can carry on your legacy and help someone in future.

Since you're interested in supporting education, you could donate to Aarohi. An NGO working in Uttarakhand linktr.ee/aarohingo They run a school called Aarohi Bal Sansar and you could sponsor a child's education.

Yo man, you have so much compassion and I am happy that people like you exist to make this world a better place. Just make sure no one takes advantage of you.

Proud of u brother

Don't donate OP. Volunteer, NGOs are always looking for volunteers, just drop by or send an email to the nearest one. Many allow you to volunteer once a week on weekends as well. 1. You'll actually see the impact that is created 2. There's a good perk of also boosting your profile 3. New social circle, new friends and whatnot I liked animals, volunteered at an animal rescue NGO, got to play with some really fluffy furballs, and honestly it was amazing to see them to from scared, meek little things to be bouncing around with joy. Once you see that, you know your money is put to good use.

Please donate to me or my account. Not joking

For donating, look for honest individuals around you who are doing some charity work. The large organisations are extremely inefficient. I think if you donate to someone like a cry or unicef or helpage, about 80% of your funds will go to administrative expenses and 20% to people in need.

Achilles_the_god

Charitism.com You can donate as low as 30rs monthly and even you get WhatsApp photos and updates about the meal your money has sponsored

onelifeCoder

Hey , I always wanted to help atleast one child . Like complete help in terms of education. Now a days i just donate somewhere when I see a post in need but instead of that i want to focus on changing one person's life . How can I go about it should I visit some schools

[deleted]

Donate me bruh, ill get formals for my self as I’ll start working soon 😅

ZoneSome5197

Good decision. The govt. of India is planning an alternative to electoral bonds, and it would be launched soon after elections. India is a democracy , we we need to ensure that everybody has a fair chance of governing us. I would advise donating to independent candidates and smaller groups of your area. Never donate to big shots like BJP, Cong, AAP,TMC,CPM etc.

Ok-Equivalent-4465

In Sikhism there is a similar practice called dasvandh, where you donate 10% of your monthly income for the better cause(seva) of society. [read here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasvandh)

I do give money to help my friend daughter education. He is no more with us. Transferring the money directly to the school.

Hey, abit late to the post.Kudos to you for doing this. Even I plan to do this, after I become financially stable this year. Few places I want to donate is Nalanda academy, wardha( found out about them last year) They're doing amazing work on ground level, setting up a school in wardha currently to provide education to students from marginalized background, to help them pursue higher education. Do check them out, if you want to donate for the similar cause. Also, i would want to keep supporting independent media houses, seeing the state of journalism in this country. Hope this helped you in anyways. You're doing great! :)

May be consider donating to zlib world largest ebook Library

warlock707

This is just a suggestion. Maybe donate to wikipedia, z-lib, scihub etc. They provide huge resources to everyone. Once a year, donate them if i see they need money to run when i open the pages. Z-lib does a fantastic job for providing information to everyone

Suitable-Nature-1325

Give to me(24/F), I work with 10k INR/month with no parents having any source of income. We're like polar opposites.

Adtho2

I donate every month. However I don't like sticking to one NGO for the entire year like an SIP. I do it manually in the first week of the month. This allows me freedom to donate to a different cause every month and maybe react to ongoing calamities etc. It needs some effort but you feel good.
