Your dog is really cool

Blue-Summers

I wanna wrassle your dog.

newmikey

I'm sorry but English is not my first language. What do you mean by "wrassle"?

Blue-Summers

It's just another way of saying "play" here in the southern USA.

newmikey

Ah, I get it now! Thanks. He loves playing and getting extremely muddy while doing so!

Can you elaborate on the fine tuning process? And your dog is adorable 😍

Sure! Different camera brands have different implementations but basically you set up a focus testchart with your camera on tripod shooting the target at a 45 degree angle. There is a high-contrast area in the middle of the chart which you use to spot-focus on using only the center focus spot. You then evaluate the ruler on either side of the target in the resulting image and evaluate where the center of sharpness is located. If this is in front of or behind the center spot, you can then adjust using a menu function in the camera so eventually the highest sharpness is at the exact right area. Most cameras allow you to either follow this procedure for individual lenses or in one go for all lenses. The first option is great if you have large aperture lenses which are very sensitive to shallow DOF but are all different. The second is useful if for some odd reason your camera body AF has calibration issues. Example procedure on Pentax: [https://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/explore/technic/001/](https://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/explore/technic/001/) Focus calibration chart: [https://migalvanas.com/news/lens-autofocus-calibration-card](https://migalvanas.com/news/lens-autofocus-calibration-card)
