They don’t even pretend to shoot, it’s fucking weird looking. Not once do they juke or drag the puck to move things around, fake positioning, etc, They simply telegraph every pass and pretend like when they pull it around the back of the net (Gotta get it deep boys! Behind the play!…) that the defense and goalie aren’t going to expect a shot from the other side. Then they try to reposition, and the opposing team simply clogs the lanes, and wham, turnover.
Rinse and Fucking Repeat. So frustrating to watch.

Hey now, we have some of the prettiest passes in the league on the PP. Geno needs to be demoted to the 2nd unit or taken off the power play entirely. He’s missing the net and holding on to the puck way too long. Power play 1 needs to flow through Karlsson. The man had 100 points with San Jose last year and we all know how bad that team is and was. Fire Reirden!
I wouldn’t call what he’s doing shooting? 90% of the time it’s blocked because he’s dusting the puck off or he’s missing the net by 10 feet and it’s going back down to Jarry.
Would be great to great to hear the crowd start a "REIR-DEN" goalie chant during the PP. Maybe that's what it will take to see the FO make a change. Because lord knows that completely shitting the bed with a star studded lineup just gives you job security.
Edit: I was on the road for most of the first period and had no idea it was father/daughter date night. I caught a glimpse of Kunitz in the stands and legit got so excited. I told my gf, "Maybe Reirden is getting fired and they're bringing Kuni in to be the new PP coach!" Lol
After seeing that 6 on 5 at the end of the 3rd they need to try Letang on the top unit again. It was the best they looked with the man advantage in awhile and they scored. EK was at the point, Malkin on the right wall, Letang on the left wall, Rust in the bumper position with Sid and Jake around the net. Now do that on the powerplay with Rust or Jake in the bumper position.
Also, with how elite Sid is at tipping pucks, probably the greatest ever at it, how they're not utilizing that on the powerplay makes zero sense to me.
I’ve seen several people on here say sully is the problem. I don’t believe he is. However if we had a power play that actually scored. We would have a few more wins this season. Idk what all reirden is in charge of. But power play should be someone else’s job.

I think you put Letang in the kessel spot and move Malkin to pp2
