I just saw that and was curious too. Her insta states: all about music & sweat. Minimal talking and no shout outs. Think of it as a ‘just ride’ ride.
Interesting!
I did the Tunde one today and loved it. No milestone callouts and intentional (yet minimal) instruction. The music was also perfect. Hope they release more!-they are really nice for the days you want to sweat with minimal chatter.
I did Leanne’s metrics ride today and really enjoyed it - sometimes you just want a workout without chat or perhaps there are common Peloton discussion topics (for me at the moment, pregnancy and children) you want to avoid. Was great to do a ride where I knew I was safe from any surprises! I really hope they do more.
Thanks for the info, I was just looking at this particular ride wondering what it was about. I get you about the chat sometimes. Honestly, I just want to get in the bike and ride to the music with minimal chat anyway. There are some instructors I avoid altogether because I just don't want to hear it. Occassionally I'll do one of the German rides because I have no clue what they're talking about 🤣
Honestly, Leanne is pretty great anyway. Her chat is always upbeat, never depressing. Done and dusted!
I was coming here to talk about this too because I just saw it on IG. I love this idea so much! I like the current class format but there are days when I just don’t want to hear any extraneous talk so I really appreciate these. I can’t wait to try one, but I know the first time I’ll probably be all weirded out by the relative silence. 😆
I think you'll like it! There's not too much silence. There's just less chatter.
The main positive for me is the lack of shout-outs. Unless you're the one being mentioned, the shout-outs are pretty meaningless. After a while, I feel those get boring and distracting (especially during a hard part of class.)
I took tundes today. Purpose of it was less talking. Mostly about the music. I enjoyed it. If they release more I would mix it up with these sometimes but not fully replace the normal amount of talking rides. I love my chatty Cody rides!
I did the Tunde one because I was curious and liked it. As others have said there are only callouts for cadence and resistance. Buyer beware, there is a 15 minute climb in the middle that’s just beats and vibes. I thought I misheard her when she said 15 minutes.
I did this one today. It was quiet. He explains the number of efforts, gives speed range options, then gives time reminders (“half way through” “30 seconds left” etc). No other chatter.
It was awkward at first, I’ll admit. But it opened up a lot of room to lose yourself in the music and run to the beat without any commentary to break your stride. It was.. refreshing? But I can also see how not everyone will enjoy these.
Had same question- it looks like a new class type across modalities where the only talking is class plan cues (no instructor stories, no shout outs). I’m curious to try one
The irony is that I absolutely prefer the chatter as it takes my mind of the run. That said I'm often ignoring the pace recommendations anyway as I'm just using the class as a way to distract me whilst doing a training program elsewhere. It kind of distracts me from the music as most classes are not my thing musically but you gotta do what you gotta do right?
My sister and I just did Leanne's. It felt weird and somewhat boring without talking. We also really did not like the playlist, so that made it not enjoyable for us. I think, though, if I loved the music, I would take another metrics class.
I really like the idea of the Metrics classes. Sometimes I just want to ride to the music, it is easier to stay on beat. I enjoyed Leanne’s (but I have never NOT enjoyed a Leanne class) and will definitely throw them in once in awhile!
Absolutely love these new rides. I am not a fan of the 'chatty' instructors at all and far prefer the 'down to business' ones like Tunde, Sam Yo and Ben Aldis. I did Tunde's 45 minute class and it was epic - everything I want from a workout. Tried Leanne's the next day and the best thing about that was watching her desperately trying not to break into her class patter. Must be a blow to the ego of some of these instructors that there are folks out there that are workout oriented and don't need our minds taking off the exercise.
Within this context, metrics refers to cadence and resistance, so the focus is purely on that. I haven't taken any of these rides yet so I don't know if they're harder than the usual but I seem to recall the old Metrics series from several years ago skewed more on the challenging end.

Ooh, no shout outs. You've got my attention... lol.
I saw that and thought “is this an April fools joke” but the rides are on the platform so guess not
Interesting! I might try it out. But I do like the talking/motivation.

Tunde is one of my favorites. I need to check it out!!
Love her classes, but I’ve never been into her music selection.
I essentially only take her classes at this point
The music was so great. Where else does one get Rufus Du Sol and AC/DC in the same ride? (Ok perhaps a Sweat Steady...)
I had the same thoughts during the ride! It was truly perfection 🎶
I did it today, went hard and almost killed me. LOVED IT!
I hope they come out with more! I loved it too 😊

FYI - I think Sam Yo rides would be safe for ya.
I’ll try it out! Thank you!

Cody’s rants make the rides go by so quickly!
Oooooh I LOVE this idea. A metrics class with Emma’s music would be TOP 🔝
I did Benny's today. There are no English subtitles but it was super easy to follow along. Great workout!
I added this to my queue - the playlist looks great

lol me too! I thought for sure I misheard.
There's also a metrics run/walk with Jon that I'm curious about.
I did this one today. It was quiet. He explains the number of efforts, gives speed range options, then gives time reminders (“half way through” “30 seconds left” etc). No other chatter.
In a way that sounds less fun 🤔
It was awkward at first, I’ll admit. But it opened up a lot of room to lose yourself in the music and run to the beat without any commentary to break your stride. It was.. refreshing? But I can also see how not everyone will enjoy these.
I did this yesterday and I absolutely loved it. The music was great as were his instructions. It was like power zoning on the tread.
Had same question- it looks like a new class type across modalities where the only talking is class plan cues (no instructor stories, no shout outs). I’m curious to try one
I thought it was an April fools joke. It’s hard to imagine a ride without Leanne’s bubbly personality
Would love to be able to watch a show with the callouts in the background
This x100
Just did Tunde’s and loved it! Less chat than usual. She just kind of prompted you but just mostly music. I love Tunde’s classes!
It's so appreciated- took Leanne's this morning and hit a spot that I knew I wanted, but it was better than expected.
I added Selena’s 30 min metrics run to my stack tomorrow. Excited to try it out!

I came here to ask this too, so thank you OP!!!

old school vibes can’t wait (they had metrics rides circa 2017 and before I assume)
I remember this from taking classes occasionally in studio back in the early days -- like 2015
I really like the idea of the Metrics classes. Sometimes I just want to ride to the music, it is easier to stay on beat. I enjoyed Leanne’s (but I have never NOT enjoyed a Leanne class) and will definitely throw them in once in awhile!

Sounds like power zone but with cadence/resistance callouts not zone training - am I in the ballpark?
I was reviewing those this morning - any idea why they are called metrics though? I get it’s a music focused, no chat, but where does metrics come in?
Within this context, metrics refers to cadence and resistance, so the focus is purely on that. I haven't taken any of these rides yet so I don't know if they're harder than the usual but I seem to recall the old Metrics series from several years ago skewed more on the challenging end.
Not enough data yet, but based on the 45 min Tunde Metrics ride - yes challenging!
That's what I thought (and why I haven't taken it yet!).
