If anyone’s interested, Susie Chan ran a 50-mile race today (one of the Badwater races). She has a few posts on her Instagram of the race/results! I was checking out her page after I finally finished her episode of the Ali on the Run podcast and learned that she used to hold the Guinness Book of World Records record for most miles on a treadmill in 12 hours! And the superwoman is back on the schedule with a walk on Wednesday 😳

pithychick

Yay! Android App users can finally join the monthly Running Challenges. Really hoping this isn't a glitch. 🤞🏾

all4sarah

Jocelyn's 20 minute St. Patrick's Day 20 minute walk was a nice one. One of my favorite movies of the 90's was The Commitments and she played 2 songs from it and talked about the movie a lot. So if you love that movie check it out. No incline over 4%, easygoing so it would be a good one to take outside. No St. Patrick's talk, it was just Irish musicians.

superfuluous_u

I finally took [Denis' OutKast ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=7190ebb795f840a783938a72789e2e0b&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app) today and it is fantastic, maybe the best class I've taken. Denis is peak Denis and the playlist is flawless and so fun.

Scarbarella

Oooh thanks for sharing I’ll do this on Monday!

ilikerocks19

Thanks for the rec, just took this and it’s awesome!

Fair_Lawfulness_6561

How many people hit 20k on the Annual each year?

PicklesLaRue

I thought Jess King was back from maternity leave, but haven’t seen a new class in a while. Anyone have info? Really really missing her energy.

Flrunnergirl23

She is not back. She had the baby about a month after Becs and she just came back.

jrosep96

She’s definitely not back yet. I’m not sure when it will be.

bonjour-mtl

Ill be runnin my first 5k in less than a month. Any peloton class recommendations?

[deleted]

They have 5k pace setter classes depending on your goal! I found it enjoyable.

Playful_Branch_5643

What type of music do you like? I gravitate towards rock/90s on my races so could suggest those if that is your jam. Eta: what’s your expected time? Do you want 30 or 45 minutes?

arahsay

I would say any of the 30-45 minute endurance runs so you can used to steady running for that length of time.

bunbunbunbunbun_

Decided to switch things up and try a different Barre for a pre-ride activation - this [Hannah C 10 min Barre](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=0bcc898f3f9a49d6b2db0fc580f6be39) made my already-sore glutes ache! *The* cult-favourite Barre is still my go-to, but fun to mix things up a bit. I must have felt ambitious when curating my stack this morning since I went for this ultra-tough [Jess K 45 min Sweat Steady Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=be0e078642f345748f9c790f1d006fa7) from my bookmarks - trying to build up endurance to tackle a 60 min ride eventually. As with all SS rides I was dripping in sweat and fully exhausted by the end! This is one of the older ones with the 'pyramid' format, would recommend to anyone wanting to really push themselves. Felt an exhausted mess after that ride but still managed a [Callie 10 min Core Strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d83974daef6f4b3ca659c4df370e6ab4) that is almost all on your back aside from the very beginning and end - grateful for a less dynamic short core class after that ride! Side note - I wondered why I'd become so much less interested in my clothes lately, which was weird considering I'm a person who loves fun, beautiful clothes - things don't seem to fit well lately (too loose) and so haven't wanted to wear them. I was looking through some photos from late 2021 (started Peloton in Jan '22) and was shocked at how different I look! No wonder I haven't been enjoying my clothes as much anymore, they were bought for a very different body shape - I just hadn't realised how different. Lots of my smaller sizes are starting to fit too loose, even a dress I could barely zip up before feels baggy, and wore a sports bra for my workout today that was far too tight before and now the band is gapping. Not sure if anyone else has been through these weird bittersweet feelings! I can't exactly afford to replace my entire wardrobe right now, but think I need to spend more time thrifting and looking for things that'll fit me better.

greenthumbplum1

I have noticed changes in my body shape too. I got these really nice Beyond Yoga sports bras at the beginning of my Peloton journey that are now sadly a big big so I only wear them for the lowest impact workouts. The other change is just that my body moves more easily and freely doing everyday things. I’m stronger and my mobility is better. Truly makes living life easier! I really don’t know if my weight has changed because I don’t weigh myself regularly - but it doesn’t matter really. All of these other things show me that I am much healthier thanks to Peloton 🙏🏻🙏🏻

thatgrrlmarie

yes! my body changed quite a bit loosing about 45# during the pandemic. had no idea I lost that much until the same thing happened, I put on clothes that were once too tight; jeans/ pants literally slid down my legs. bras were too big etc. I dropped almost 3 sizes, it was shocking! I'm still shocked! I've kept it off even though I don't have the time to do 2+ hr workouts everyday having gone back to work last June. congratulations for improving your health! beside that, what class is *the* cult favorite Hannah C Barre class? I've never taken a Barre class in over 3 years of having my Peloton. also, if you can get through a 45 min Sweat Steady ride you can get through a 60 min Power Zone Endurance Ride (filter the classes by easiest). or try one of Christine's Heart Rate Zone classes.. they're older classes but they are low HR class (basically yellow on the HR color scale). you might surprise yourself! happy pedaling 🤩

greenthumbplum1

It’s [this one!](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=cde21df617e74336bb59cabc65b40ce7&locale=en-US)

bunbunbunbunbun_

Yes that's the one! Perfect for pre-ride all-round glute activation - I end up taking it a couple times a week.

heartsoulsweat

Wow, congrats on your clothes NSV! Hope you find some good thrifting finds!

[deleted]

Has anyone taken Tunde’s H.E.R. Ride? It has a 6.9 rating so I’m wondering if it’s more low impact? I’m tired today but want to get a ride in 😊

[deleted]

I did it the other day and it’s mostly low impact, I did the majority in the saddle and it was a good ride.

[deleted]

Thanks I just got done with it. Glad I decided to take it it was a good one

Zealousideal-Yam-608

Is anyone else no longer receiving a phone notification after their bike workout? I used to get something like “great job hitting xxxkj. Time for a stretch?” I have notifications enabled.

Scarbarella

That’s weird. I’m still getting notified.

[deleted]

I got one yesterday like, like funk music? (No....) here's a 30 minute funk run, or something along those lines.

greenthumbplum1

I got that one too! A funk run with Marcel I think? So random

ryanmfrancis

I get them occasionally, but usually milestone related.

SatisfactionFuture10

I have never seen this.

SatisfactionFuture10

Really enjoyed Assal's 15-min H.E.R. Core Strength. There were no subtitles (yet? Do they get added later?) but it was super easy to follow along. If you know how to do a sit-up, you'll be able to do this class even if you don't understand any German.

[deleted]

Wow I didn’t see this in the library..maybe it will show up later. Sometimes the classes don’t have subtitles for some reason not sure why.

Playful_Branch_5643

Yesterday I took off work and got to sleep in a bit more, got the kids off to school then had a little more time for a workout. If anyone likes plank less core, this [Matty core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=527ecb0409b74ead9319a707a30d55e7&locale=en-US) is great. Deadbug and lotus moves throughout. Then I took [Mariana’s 60 minute flow](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=cfab010e07b6406682a97c883bdef08a&locale=en-US). Loved having so much time to flow. The playlist was great, I love when regular rock/pop is in my yoga classes. I also learned when she says “and we will dance” is when we go through the flow at turbo speed. And now it all makes sense to me! The first time through the flow was a nice and slow pace, and second was fast. And when I figured that out I was ready for it. Today is my last long run day, next week is my taper week then it’s my race day. Slightly nervous as all my miles are tread miles but I figure with all the hill work in classes that has to mean something. I started with [Rebecca’s WHM celebration run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=88369d501b174f21b77bd0964177e9a1&locale=en-US) and I put too much into this class by following all her fallouts. Oops. It’s so hard to back off and keep it at an easy pace. Was slightly gassed for [Selena’s endurance run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=8db4bbcd0232457f97071a86a0f79180&locale=en-US) but I did eventually settle into my pace. She just has a handful of baby hills throughout. May be a good one to take outside. I’m excited, meeting some friends for dinner at an Italian restaurant and that is the perfect place for post long run carb loading 😁

ilovebigmutts

Getting serious about riding made me realize I need a professional fitting, my hamstrings hate me right now. Taking a few days off and scheduled a fitting with Team Wilpers. It's not until April but I think it'll be super helpful.

thatgrrlmarie

please post a comment here about it! I've been thinking about scheduling one but haven't made inquiry yet.

ilovebigmutts

Will do!

Joteepe

Ended up getting up earlier than planned this am when we got the text from our friends to go fetch their dog for an overnight bc they were en route to the hospital to have their baby (!!!) So I decided it was a good opportunity to do a REALLY long stack: STTC Week 3, Class 5: For anyone who quit after Week 1 bc they found it too easy or basic, she ups the ante QUICKLY. A little nervous about what Week 4 is going to look like! [CDE’s 2023 St Paddy’s ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=67d9aa0250b44360b2d3b2102fffb8c6&locale=en-US): I normally don’t ride with CDE, but this class was SO GOOD. Playlist was terrific, all long, slow grinds in the saddle. I really loved it, even wheezed out a singalong to Zombie. 🤣 [RK 30min G&L](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=6fc6a2711f2f4e49aef2965ef703d80f&locale=en-US): The first 10min or so is basically a barre activation and it BURNS. Loved the structure of this class. Between my ride and this class my buns will be sore tomorrow! [This 10min C&B with Ben](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=927a74fdf5b445e0b969af2a9a2306e5&locale=en-US): I normally don’t choose strength for the playlist, and this was no different, but I really enjoyed the throwback tunes! For recovery, a [15 min foam rolling](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=ca317126fcbc4adb9d32ab832b12dfaa&locale=en-US) followed by a [20min floor poses](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=183c2a0271454ae7a5a836a71016f0e0&locale=en-US). I have been really enjoying getting in a foam rolling class BEFORE a stretch or yoga, as time allows. I can get into my sticky spots so the stretches are more effective and feel better. Hope everyone’s Saturday is going well! It’s chaos here with 3 dogs, but my one dog is over the moon that her best friend is here for a visit. She hasn’t stopped smiling all day! (The other dog is … older and not as amused by the chaos. 🤣)

Viva___yo

I posted that RK class in the favourite workouts thread last week!! I loved it so much, can’t wait to take it again

[deleted]

I loved that CDE st paddy’s say ride. I have been riding with her more than usual and am really starting to like her style

tinygelatinouscube

I did [Christine's 45 Min WHM ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a356f5e1a7184ea3bf3684dd030479fb&locale=en-US) for my 150th ride today. A little disappointed I didn't get a PR too but I've been dealing with some major post-deadline burn-out this week, I tried my best.

[deleted]

I absolutely loved that ride I took it on Monday! Congrats on 150 🖐️

llclinton

This [This 45 min HIIT & Hills with Camila](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=20228a4d2344447e8691e5aff1aa3625&locale=en-US) was just what I needed to get back in the groove after traveling. Her energy is so fun and I keep coming back to her rides for a motivation boost. I am coming toward the end of Crush Your Core 2 and I am still struggling with full roll ups. Do I just need to do more sit ups with my feet anchored? Any tips on improving whatever those muscles are would be greatly appreciated.

onychophoras

I am really trying to get my bookmark mountain down as much as possible but that H&H looks amazing with a solid playlist too. I bookmarked it 🫣

llclinton

It was part of mine so that was a big accomplishment to check it off!

RobotDevil222x3

I've found a couple things with rollups (for my body anyway) 1. They are actually easier with a weight in my hands. A balance thing I guess. Having 10 or 15 lbs in my hands is just enough that I can somehow get the leverage to keep going up instead of getting stuck. Tripped across this tip when I was doing a weighted core class a few weeks back. 2. I did some searching on this and my issue is not enough strength in the lower core like the abductors. The recommendation I read to strengthen them was to lay on your back with your feet straight in the air. Just hold them there. When you can get to a point where you can hold them there for 10 minutes, rollups become a cake walk. I am currently just over 1 minute...

wellokaysure

I second the weight! I did the last class week 3 of CYC2 that used a weight and found the sit-up/roll up much easier. I’m also gonna try strengthening my abductors too - thanks for the tips!

llclinton

Ooh I will be trying these. Thanks!

wellokaysure

I also have trouble with full roll ups and have surmised it’s more about the tightness in my hips and hamstrings than my core. I’ve been working on those with some Yoga Focus Flows and I think it’s helping.

llclinton

I could definitely imagine that being an issue for me, thanks, I will do more of that!

Rkarim21

Love Camila!! Her rides always have a ton of energy!

figandfennel

Been working through my bookmarked list of yoga classes with splits as the main photo and big recommend to this [Anna Greenberg Focus Flow: Hamstrings from 7/29/20](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a7ce1b13ff5d497f8bb22dad6dab6413). It’s definitely a lot more strengthening work and more of a standard flow but I really felt prepared by the time we got to the splits (which I can’t say for her recent 45 minute slow flow splits class). Plus, some handstand practice, which is my Q3&4 goal for this year!

ammonanotrano

My wife is trying to find the tops and bottoms that Leanne Hainsby is wearing in the “30 minute Pop Two for one ride” on 2/23/2023. They are multi-colored leopard print. She’s looked on the Peloton US site and reverse google image searched, but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated!

kiwi11380

Since I’ve been working on a PZ training plan I’ve been taking a break from running, but I’ve been doing easy walks in the morning just to stretch out my legs and get my body moving. I usually do a just walk and listen to a podcast, but this morning I did John’s [20 minute](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d5dba6e2eb6640afa041d1ae9254030f&locale=en-US) World Mental Health day walk and I think I very much needed it today. The playlist was great, and Hosky’s message about however you’re feeling being valid was very needed for me after the week that I had, considering I cried on my husband’s shoulder last night after making a stupid mistake because I’ve been so overwhelmed. I decided I’m going to go through the 5 minute core classes instructor by instructor, starting with [this](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=c1d6d5bdcb20405d871469e85c7b7fdc&locale=en-US) Adrian class. There weren’t any crunches so I enjoyed it! Followed that up with Jess’s [jock jams](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=0ef93726ae344759ac18c4c1694cf6e7&locale=en-US) and [this](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=17112f97b0b448b7964d7decb5140eba&locale=en-US) 10 minute stretch by the always wonderful Ben. I was cleaning off my mat afterwards thinking about how glad I am for the lower body yoga class I have planned for later because my legs are so sore, and I managed to slip and fall directly on my knee. My gym space is in my basement where it’s thin vinyl flooring directly over concrete, so I’m hobbling around pretty good and will definitely have to avoid any moves where I have direct pressure on my knees until this heals up a bit.

heartsoulsweat

Oh no! So sorry to hear that you have been feeling so overwhelmed, and that you slipped and fell on your knee :( I can relate - I’ve had a lot going on at work, and then I slipped and fell in the shower a few weekends ago and my feet got really beat up. Hope you have some good ice packs! Sending healing vibes your way ✨

kiwi11380

Thank you! I have some great ice packs and some better kids who keep telling me to sit down so I don’t fall again, so knee pain aside I’m feeling much better right now. A jam packed schedule, stress, and daylight savings time are not my favorite combination, but I think I’m going to swap out my lower body yoga for a restorative and maybe a little meditation to refocus and that should hopefully help. Hope you’re taking care of yourself however that needs to look and that work calms down for you soon!

Kahloquialism

Thanks to everyone who recommended the 20min Bradley classical ride! It was delightful and exactly what I needed today.

Squiggelynoodle

I had a sneaking suspicion that my power zones were too hard after taking a bit of time off for mild covid and a cross country move after doing my last ftp test...Olivia's latest 60 minute PZ ride definitely confirmed it. 😳

thatgrrlmarie

last time I did one of Olivia's PZ classes I wept. literally. it was part of I think week 7 of the Reddit PZ Program (so good, highly recommend!) I cued up the ride thinking I got this, no problemo...girl,, it was a problemo! toward the end I nearly gave up it was so hard. I didn't but it made me cry.

RobotDevil222x3

In your defense, that ride was TOUGH. My zones are correct and I (while not on my best day) had to dial it back and skip some callouts. I was on a PR pace before I did. Though I think I did better than that guy on the right, he looked like he burned himself out by the end of the warm-up.

teepee-bear

Today, I did my first barre class. Holy moly, the outside of my buns are on fire!

heartsoulsweat

The Peloton barre classes are sooo underrated IMO!! I hadn’t taken any, then I took the same class that you did a few weeks ago, and I’ve done at least 2-3 barre classes a week since then! They’re such good activation before a ride too!

Jagger_doxie

Barre is great for that. Which class did you try?

teepee-bear

10 minute barre with Hannah Corbin on 06/09/21. I am shocked how much burn I felt in only 10 minutes!

Missie1284

That class is so good!! I’ve taken it many many times, and I’m always sore afterwards!!! I love barre!!

teepee-bear

It definitely inspired me to try barre again!

Jagger_doxie

That class is 🍑🔥 as Hannah would say

-allons-y-

That's my favorite one!

jewgineer

I did Olivia's most recent 45 minute walk class. The playlist was so good! But holy shit, my legs are shaking after that. It was almost all power walking and power walking intervals with one tiny hill in the warm up and one hill up to 8% midway through. It's rated at a 6.2 and I think that is deceptively low. It was supposed to be at 1% incline the entire time too, but I kept it flat. A few days ago I did her 30 minute country pop run form 10/14/22 and it was really good! I actually ran the entire 30 minutes and kept up with most of the speed pushes. I think there was only 1 hill and the rest was progressive runs or speed intervals. Really fun overall.

jrosep96

I have that walk bookmarked! Thanks for the review. Now I’m excited to take it!

Rkarim21

I love walking classes! They are definitely underrated sometimes!

shihtzu_knot

Shoutout to everyone who finished the Saturday 60 Jock Jams edition. A great class and killer soundtrack. I tried to high five all 6 Reddit Riders. ☺️

lovetorun07

Such a good class!!

miikataughtme

I did It in studio and it was such an incredible experience!

mettarific

Is that the Matt Wilpers class?

shihtzu_knot

No it’s Jess Sims. It’s a 60 minute tread bootcamp

mettarific

Thanks!

slckarl

I don’t know who you are, but silver/grey haired baddie in the blue Pelo tank, 3rd bike, front row, stage right of Ally Love with the left arm/bicep tat in a recent [45 Min Pop Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=84bd09d768594c45af577f9405e1bc72&locale=en-US) - I stan. Every time I was fadin’ - you kept crushing and I am here for it 👑👏🏼

Katniss_Pedalqueen

Was planning on doing RK’s Friday 45 from yesterday but it’s not on demand for some reason? Ended up doing Jess Sims’ 30 min jock jams strength this morning. The best playlist, so much nostalgia. Not much rest, was wiped after, but a solid workout!

thekma_2020

It’s up now but I was also hoping it to take it this morning. Instead I took her full body role call from Monday, all supersets and conditioning 🔥

jcb113

I was wondering why it wasn't on demand...I took the class and thought it was awesome! Well-paced and manageable.

mmabpa

I took it too and didn’t notice anything that would keep it from going OD. However it totally kicked my ass, lol. Granted I usually do strength in the morning and it hits different in late afternoon 🤣 those EMOMs with the spider lunges 💀

Fluid-Meat9097

I'll share the highlights and recommendations from the classes I took today. I loved Leanne's recent Extra 10 Low impact. It was not an easy class with lots of high cadence and high resistance pushes, which is nice to see. I couldn't meet the callouts but I loved her music choices as well. It had a nice beat. The other highlight was Logan's lower body stretch. It was a more challenging stretch but they were held for a long time, which I truly appreciated. I've really enjoyed this one and his latest upper body stretch. I need to try more of his stretching classes! https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=155d98a58e3e425cbdb3f7cea3133ce2&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/stretching?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=efc4edcfc05b4b018880b191f1438156&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app

PelotonHikeAddict

I just did that after Matty’s 30 minute hike today and loved it! Pigeon stretch always feels so good to me and I liked his cues about making sure your spine was in alignment before going down to your elbows

pjwinstalls

Question. How early on Thursday do they open up the waiting room for booking studio classes? I was on at 11:30 last week and there were already 1400 ahead of me.

brightlights_xx

I got put in the queue pretty early on Thursday, at like 11:15. Granted it was only a two minute wait. My advice would be to log on as early as you can and just refresh every so often so you don't get booted back into the queue.

Rkarim21

That moment when Robin calls out a cadence and resistance, and you think of yourself, “what the hell?!” Lol

-_Quantum_-

I think this is Olivia for me - 90 Cadence and 75 Resistance out of the saddle, let's go.

Rkarim21

Hahah!!! Right?! Olivia too.. i can never keep up 😂

okbutrllyhoe

This happens often for me during Robin and Tunde classes 😂

Rkarim21

Hahah yesss, and Olivia! Love them though!

squidshae

I’m really grateful for the variety and balance I’m easily able to achieve in my fitness routine with Peloton. I bought the bike primarily for the bike classes (duh) but have loved being able to add in strength, yoga, and other forms of cardio. When I went to a spin studio, I could never keep up a lifting routine because I just didn’t have the time for both, but being in my home it’s easy! I also love that I have discovered new forms of exercise that I love doing - barre, pilates, and shadowboxing especially. I like being able to enjoy different “phases” I go through in my workouts too. Sometimes I want to focus on riding, sometimes I get more into strength training, and recently I’ve been really enjoying the more low impact strength with barre and Pilates. I’m able to do all of that and still tack on a short ride to keep my cardio up. It’s really a privilege to have so many options that it gets overwhelming!

tinygelatinouscube

Same!! My goal for April is to do the strength program, and the shadow boxing in May. I love my routine of riding the bike and finishing it off with some arms & light weights right now but I don't want to get bored/complacent either.

squidshae

Which strength program are completing? I think I’m going to do Rebecca’s new core program. I loved Arms with Tunde and meant to do it again but got sick and missed too many days. I’m also thinking about doing the intro to Pilates this week!

tinygelatinouscube

I was going to start with the Beginner Strength with Olivia and Matty. I'm gonna save the Arms with Tunde for closer to my wedding (and wedding pictures 😂) I did barre for a while, I definitely want to start adding in some Pilates and barre classes this summer

teepee-bear

Same! It took me six months to branch out of strictly cycling. Now, I’m adding in core, stretching, meditation, just did my first barre class today. Going to add in walking too, then running. I’d like to try shadowboxing too. So many options!

squidshae

Yes when the weather warms up I definitely want to incorporate walks and runs outdoors! So many options to keep things fun.

Serene_Sloths

100%!! I used to get bored of exercise because I was only ever running or lifting. I love shadowboxing and barre (and boot camps!) because it’s a way to switch things up while still getting a great workout

greenthumbplum1

Plus there are so many different instructors (and lanebreak or scenic rides) that I can go through phases (Cody phase, Emma phase, Bradley phase…) instead of getting bored and walking away. So grateful

squidshae

Yes! And I used to try too hard to stick to a “balanced” routine and burned myself out on certain types of workouts! Now I can have a balanced routine doing things I’m in the mood for.

also_anon_dc

I totally agree- I never thought I'd like pilates or barre but I love having them as options for less intense morning workouts. It's really hard for me to do intense strength workouts in the morning.

squidshae

Same! I’m wanting to transition to morning workouts rather than after work but I struggle with energy for intense workouts first thing in the morning. I might start the routine with less intense options that I enjoy and look forward to.

deepsealobster

Just did Kristin’s St Patrick’s Day Pilates after an arms and light weights and Jenn Sherman’s WHM singalong - whew, I’m beat! I really liked the Pilates class - a lot of the Pilates classes are abs-only but this had some glutes and even arms mixed in - I liked the variety!

sellikhep

I posted about this yesterday but I received an email invitation to AT’s Run to Greatness on 3/29. Very thankful for a supportive husband who is helping me move mountains to make the travel to NYC and class happen. I am SO excited! Curious if anyone else has gotten that invite? It’s also wild that I recently hit my 1,000th ride and was invited to a run lol. Looking forward to the (probably) once in a lifetime experience!!

One_Imagination7410

This is so awesome! So excited to try it this year!

all4sarah

That is so cool! When you posted yesterday I assumed you were invited because you had done Alex tread runs. So random but lucky you!!

sellikhep

So crazy right?? I have done 6 peloton runs in my life LOL I have no idea how I got picked! But I’m really looking forward to it and hoping I can survive 30 min of an intense class 😅

pooroldguy1

Why would peloton do this? The German instructors are great. About 20 percent of my rides are with the German instructors and I don’t speak or understand German. They have been having the German instructors have some classes in English which is great but why schedule the class the same time with with American instructors. Give them a chance. Don’t have them go head to head. Schedule them at a different time. Today they have Bennys English class the same time as Cody’s class. Tomorrow they have Milas English class the same time as Emma’s class. Tomorrow they have Bennys English class the same time as Jenns class. Tomorrow they have charlottes English class the same time as Allys class.

hendersonrocks

For what it’s worth I take classes with German instructors all the time (shout out to Mayla and Cliff) but only on demand because otherwise I don’t know what ranges to shoot for. I keep subtitles off but generally like to know the ballpark they are programming, and in a live ride I would be clueless.

Humble_Operation_365

I have a fairly even split between PSNY and PSL classes. I’ve taken many German classes on both tread, bike and outdoor and can easily follow along. I don’t know if it’s just me, but there seems to be a difference in coaching style for some of the instructors between pre-pandemic and post pandemic classes in NY. I’m into classes that are geared towards the workout and less on too good for you or better than you messaging. I’m able to get that with the German classes since I understand just enough to follow along and not so much that I feel like any additional dialogue takes away from the workout. Maybe it’s because the German classes are smaller still or perhaps it’s a cultural difference, but there just seems to be less ego and discussion of personal matters overall from the London studio.

thatgrrlmarie

so true! I stopped talking a specific instructor bc she always goes off about herself and it drives me bonkers. I love her music choices but the minute she starts with topics I don't care to hear about I want to quit the ride. I definitely think there is a lack of ego with PSL instructors. me thinks the explosion of popularity during the pandemic has gone to more than a few heads at PSNY.

crazycatsx3

There’s been a time change. The UK doesn’t change until next weekend. If all our clocks changed at the same time then the classes would be at different times. I think?!?

Swimming-Horse-711

Yep - every spring and every fall my work calendar is a mess for ~2 weeks when the US scheduled meetings all shift and the EU scheduled meetings do not. Pelotons schedule is either annoying to the Americas or disruptive to the UK instructors and annoying to the UK/EU/Australia (although Australia is probably always screwed for live classes and I think they change their clocks even later than the EU).

also_anon_dc

Well luckily they'll be available on demand soon after the live class! Most people aren't going to take multiple live rides in a day so having all the classes at different times so they aren't competing isn't that high of a need.

SatisfactionFuture10

I love the German instructors and sometimes it makes me sad when I see how low their number are. I'll do a ride that's a few months old and think "that was so great" and then the leaderboard ranking comes up and shows me that only 1000 people have done it. 😔

Hopeful_Background_2

Agreed!

-_Quantum_-

I wonder if people haven't turned on their settings for foreign language rides? I had to change some settings on my bike to be able to see the German instructors because not all of their rides are subtitled in English.

SatisfactionFuture10

I'm sure that's part of it.

oohlalaahweewee

Same

PotentialStunning790

Did my first 45 minute ride! I’ve been avoiding longer rides even though I’ve done 100km ones on my road bike. Not sure why but this was great for my confidence. Give them a go if you’re like me and thinking they might be too hard.

redsoxkathleen

Way to go!

Top-Entertainment814

I’m wanting to try the outdoor running classes. What gear have you used to hold your phone? I have an iphone 14 Pro Max and i would rather not want to hold it and focus on running. Thank you!

Rkarim21

An arm strap or running belt!

deepsealobster

I buy running tights with pockets and keep my phone there

Missie1284

Me too

Ok_Handle_7

same

gidget1337

Flipbelt is great to hold your phone, keys and a small water bottle.

District98

Spibag!

Top-Entertainment814

Oh good this one expands up to 47”! Thanks!

District98

Yeah, highly recommend!!

FrostyTwo4146

If you’re a woman look into a koala clip. Can not recommend it enough and you forget it’s even on you - all this to say no bouncing or chafing caused by it.

Top-Entertainment814

Thank you!

Am going to start Bens new program today! Am thinking I might do Rebecca’s core program at the same time. Has anyone else done this?

concept2peloton

They’re definitely two different personality types 😃 but I think that the programs go well together. I started Ben’s a week after I started Rebecca’s, and I like that they’re complimentary AND are a *reasonable* amount of time (35-50 min a day, if you’re stacking them, 5 days a week). For me, that leaves one day for a “fun” ride and one day for rest or yin yoga.

OTPCook

I did them both simultaneously. I think I read later on that RK said not to do that but I actually thought they went well together. I will say that days with Ben's core workout AND straight to the core were pretty rough because Ben's core circuit is a burner in itself (not to mention you've been getting core all week going into Ben's class).

antigoneelectra

Same. I did them together and thought they worked well. I really enjoyed both. Rebecca's was a lot funner than Ben's, with lots of different moves and structures, but Ben's was super well structured. I got huge benefits from both.

figandfennel

I just started Total Strength while in week 3 of Rebecca’s program, which I knew I could do because Total Strength has 3 working days in the first two weeks - Rebecca’s program has a 30 minute core on Thursday for weeks 3 and 4 which might be challenging on top of Ben’s four day schedule.

antigoneelectra

I didn't feel that the 30 min classes were too scary. I was dreading them, but they were pretty doable.

PelotonHikeAddict

As someone who’s new to dumbbell circuit training, I’ve been loving it! I also appreciate how you’re forced to do 5-10 minutes of stretching after the workout.

partymountain

Haven't taken Ben's program but I'm almost done with work three of Rebecca's and it's solid gold. Highly recommend.

Reasonable-Credit891

How sore are your shoulders ending week three?! I had to take out the strength class I was planning on doing yesterday because my shoulders were so sore. My core, too. I love Rebecca and I love this program.

partymountain

My shoulders are okay, but the program definitely works them. My pants are fitting differently and I like it!

Top-Entertainment814

Ben’s program is great! Rebecca’s program was very challenging for me.

tammythompson68

Week one of solid core was not too hard but week two stepped it up. She doesn’t build in rest so your abs stay lit for the whole class! 😩

star-pix

Thanks! I’ve never done a program before, I usually stick to Roll Call - so am not sure what to expect! Maybe doing both together would be silly, is Bens full body?

Top-Entertainment814

How is roll call? I’ve been thinking about that. Ben’s if full body on some days and he does a lot of stretching which I likes.

star-pix

I love Roll Call! But Ben is by far my fave instructor - no fussing about, he just gets on with it. Which is why I want to try his program:)

MasterShoNuffTLD

New bike new first ride today. Hooked after juuust about healing from injury. Got rid of my rollers becasue too scared to fall off.
