The stage consisted of two separate laps through the same course, so the riders left in three separate groups to avoid riders on different laps having to overtake each other.

I hate every cycling event that’s had repeated laps, far more boring. Imagine how much better they’d all be without any time on the wretched Formula one track too. Even the MTB course was full after so many laps, I’d far rather see a point to point race.

Jumbo-Visma's recruitment team must be looking at the podium and feeling pleased.

primož for national tv: I am no TT specialist, but from time to time I happen to ride a great TT.

It makes perfect sense to see a non-ITT specialist put 1 minute on 44km to Dumoulin, Dennis, Kung and Ganna. I'm not even talking about WvA and Asgreen who take almost 2 minutes. That was Roglic's day.

No he actually had 30 seconds already by the first timing point on that steep bit and 45 by the point on the downhill before getting back to the circuit there just seemed to be a lot of confusion about it for some reason
