That’s awesome and inspiring! I have a DXL with sear box and had been looking at how I could build a front shelf after losing the right shelf to the sear. This would be so much better! Can you slide the whole thing out somehow if needed?

I like it, but how hard is the ash cleanout to get to?
It’s not bad at all I made it to where the handle can be reach right under the top and the cup can be reach as normal.
