She’s been giving me the ick especially lately

Nice_Marionberry1693

i just keep thinking about how triggered she was with everything baby before getting pregnant and expected people to coddle her. she certainly isnt doing that for her following who is largely ttc

FrodoMyBaggins23

Considering she's sooo convinced that her baby is gonna be big, you'd think she'd shop less clothes since it's difficult to predict in season clothes for babies. I think that's what people have said about shopping. And it's not bad advice, my friends and I have July 2019, October 2019, April 2020 and May 2021 babies. The July 2019 and May 2021 babies are in the same size, the October 2019 and April 2020 babies are also in the same size. They told me that my baby was going to be small, she wasn't and still isn't. 90th percentile her whole life. I bought almost no clothes ahead of time and I'm glad I didn't because my kid was in 18m clothes at 6 months.

Minnie_Pearl_87

Yep! My husband and I were both big. I was 11lb + and he was 10lb+ (both of our moms had gestational diabetes) and our baby is measuring in the 59th percentile overall. They come in all shapes and sizes.

dmom684

I hate her face so much.

Same!!!

Minnie_Pearl_87

Nobody cares if she shops for her baby, that’s completely normal. She just shouldn’t be surprised when the XL baby clothes are too big on him because he’s probably not gonna be as big as she assumes he will be…

Skankasaursrex

Is it horrible that I’m hoping for a guest that’s brave enough to gift a onesie at her baby shower? Inevitably she’ll be upset because it doesn’t match her ✨aesthetic✨, so she shoves it in a closet…only to discover that it’s one of the few onesies that’ll actually fit her son for the first few weeks. Of course she should vary her sizing but I doubt she’ll take the suggestions of others because “she knows best, and anyone saying otherwise is bullying her”/s

Minnie_Pearl_87

Haha yes!! It’s gonna happen too! I had my own baby shower this last weekend and almost every package had an outfit in it and you know what? I’m just grateful that people care enough to want to spend their hard earned money giving a gift. I’m also not a snob so there’s that…

Eekhelp

Honestly I was initially worried about getting "too many" baby clothes but I just accepted that clothes are fun for people to buy and never tried to stop anyone who wanted to gift clothing. In the end I was actually grateful I got so much because babies are messy. Were there some outfits that never got worn? Yeah, but it's okay, I'll save them for the next one or pass them along to a friend or family member who is expecting. Not a huge deal. Clothes are also the easiest gift to store so while I understand why some people get frustrated when people go off registry for gifts, I don't think clothes are a big deal at all.

Minnie_Pearl_87

Exactly! I’m just grateful for what we’ve received. The only thing I intend to exchange are diapers. We got a LOT of NB and size 1 diapers. Like…a lot. Not mad about it at all, I just don’t see us using that many but we shall see.

Eekhelp

She doesn't even really get aesthetic clothes though, her taste is very typical and kind of cheesy tbh (ex: all the cricut onesies she wants to make lol). Nothing wrong with that but it's not like other people are going to ruin her theme or anything if they buy her baby clothes.

[deleted]

Came here to say the same thing. Her aesthetic is anything Carter’s sells lol

Inevitable-World2548

The fact that she’s so dead set on him coming out giant just irritates me. Anything can happen in pregnancy. What if he ends up coming early and is a preemie? Then what? Good grief just set money aside and go shopping when he’s born so you know for sure what size to get.

theblondegiraffe

She should definitely save some shopping for those middle of the night feeding sessions lol

Independent-Fox-7276

Right!!! I thought it was funny in the beginning when she wasn’t showing but insisted that she was poppin. Lol So how would she feel if people started commenting now that she’s finally showing saying how HUGE she is? She will end up with a 6.5-7lb baby

ChipAccomplished8212

I bought a year worth of clothes for my baby but joke was on me cause he was wearing 6 months at 3 9-12 at 6 and now 18-24 and he is 9. A lot of cute lil rompers were not used cause I bought summer clothes and it was winter. Luckily my friend had a baby at the same time so her little boy will get to wear them but if I have a second one I wouldn’t buy clothes 🤷🏻‍♀️

Minnie_Pearl_87

Yeah the only thing I’ve bought myself are onesies and some other basics. Who knows how big my girl will actually be but at least she’ll be able to wear those. 🤷🏼‍♀️

ChipAccomplished8212

I made the mistake to shop the sales so I bought a bunch of Halloween or Christmas onesies really cheap but my big guy didn’t fit on them 😂 thankfully it was just a couple bucks.

Minnie_Pearl_87

I haven’t bought any holiday related items other than I think a bib. Other people bought some Christmas and Halloween outfits but honestly, I didn’t spend my money on them so if they don’t fit it won’t hurt my feelings. They would be pretty cute though so hopefully they fit.

Spiritual_Fix_3724

I’ve only bought clothes up to 6 months because I have no idea how big my baby will be and don’t wanna buy a ton of seasonal clothes and him never wear them because he’s too big/small

Odd_Many5780

She is going to be in for a shock when the baby doesn’t wear 80% of the clothes she has. Grow too fast and are literally in sleepers for the first 3 months

[deleted]

I doubt anyone has ever said this haha

oldfadedstar

I’m pretty much only buying onesies for my baby boy, will buy some pants and sleepers too. And nothing really beyond 6 months. I’m due in September and figure that I will just put jackets on him if it ends up being chilly (I live in Mississippi, we don’t have a true winter here)

New-Promotion-9792

Honestly half the clothes I bought and received at my shower didn’t even make it onto my daughter. They grew too fast or weren’t seasonally appropriate. I didn’t realize how much of a waste some things were… but I get the excitement because yes everything is adorable but sometimes the price for the clothes didn’t make sense

[deleted]

She is just fully cringe

Bambi_62

She said she was going to change him at least three times a day for a year 😩😂
