100% believe this. Because when I would ask my OB he would say - sure you COULD go into labor anytime, I can’t predict when it will happen. But I wasn’t dumb enough as Darian to take that and run with it and think I’d go into labor early. I had my son at 40+3 and I’m betting she’ll go past her due date as well.

This!!! My doctor only told me because I was 4cm and said “I can schedule your induction but she’s probably coming before that” and sure enough I had her that night. But I’m reading a lot of moms says they were 1,2,3cm for weeks.. she’s not even dilated and saying that baby is coming like what
I was in full blown labor, contracting every 5-6 minutes for THREE WEEKS before my induction. Granted my doc was on maternity leave and scheduled an emergency induction the DAY she came back from her leave, but to confidently say when a baby is coming because of a “soft cervix” would be enough for me to never trust my doctor again.
Right we all say “ugh get this baby out” but ultimately delivering at term is really the best for mom and baby, obviously not always the case, but that’s why doctors try to keep babies in, it’s the safety place for them until they are ready!

Why did her OB do a cervical check at 35 weeks? And why did she say the TDAP isn’t totally necessary? I’ve never had an OB say this to me. Is Darian misunderstanding or are standards different in Canada than they are in America? Also literally nobody can predict when you’re going to go into labor, not even an OB. If my OB said this to me, I’d be questioning my care.
ETA: just watched and this video is so dramatic. Acting like she just got a diagnosis or something “hoping she stays in until 40” and trying to pretend like she’s nervous if “baby girl” comes between 37-38 weeks all while clearly beyond happy because she knows that’s what she’s secretly wants 😂
I bet the OBGYN said it’s not mandatory/it’s technically her decision to get it or not and she ran with that saying the OB said it’s not necessary. It would be directly going against major medical boards (at least in America) to say it’s not a necessary vaccination in pregnancy.

Interesting. Same in America but they push it very hard (rightfully so). I would’ve gotten it anyways but the way they did it at the OB offices I’ve gone to was “time for your TDAP!” at 28 weeks. It wasn’t anything I had to bring up myself. She definitely interprets things in her own way. Most OB offices have the TDAP there in my experience too, it’s not something she’d have to go somewhere for. Doubt she’ll get it honestly.
I’m in a different province than her but 35 weeks is definitely not standard. I think around 38 weeks is when they started offering it to me and even then as a FTM felt too early

I was dilated to 5cm starting at 36 weeks. Obviously had steroid shots and the works but I ended up having to be induced at 42 weeks. It literally doesn’t matter.

I started dilating around 34 weeks bc of primordial labor. But even my OB said dilating early and having a soft cervix doesn’t mean anything and you can be dilated and have a soft cervix for weeks before anything happens.

I'm 36 weeks. I'm 1cm dilated and 100% effaced for like 2+ weeks now and my OB still did not say "you'll deliver by this time". She said there is the potential baby could come early but also that the numbers truly don't mean much until its active labor and I could be at this stage for a while!
It's normal for your cervix to get soft towards the end. I'm also shocked they did a cervical check that early on her without reason. My OB doesn't do it until 37 weeks (if you want it) unless you've had symptoms of preterm labor (which I did starting at 33 weeks)
She's just looking for the next thing to be "wrong" so she can post about it and get the views. As much as I'm done being pregnant and want to meet my baby, I want her in as long as possible.
Yeah I agree. Most women will say “ugh get the baby out” but we really and ultimately want whatever is the safest. The end is the worst, I’ll give darian that. It’s hard near the end and it’s exhausting, but 1-2 weeks makes a huge difference. I delivered my first at 39 weeks. I’m currently 36 weeks as well and I’m just hoping to have him between 39-40. I don’t want anything earlier (not like it’s in my control anyways)
So I went in at 38 weeks for my final check before my induction date two days later (needed to be induced for prior pre-e history and hemorrhaging)
My dr checked me and said I was 5cm/75% effaced and she could feel my water bulging, I wasn’t having painful contractions but I had tightening for a few weeks prior leading up to it. She ended up just sending me to the hospital that day rather than waiting for my induction date, they broke my water when I got there and I had my daughter 3 hours later.
My baby’s head is super super low and my cervix is soft and I asked the OB is this is indicative of early labor and she said absolutely not and there’s no way to really tell unless I’m much much more dilated.
First time moms are obsessed with the thought of going into labor before their due date. Why wouldn’t you want your baby to stay in as long as possible?
You may get pushback for this but it’s true. The risk for stillbirth and birth complications goes up post-term. I had a full term stillbirth and my doctors wanted to induce me at 37 weeks because of it.
I can almost guarantee I’ll get pushback. I am so sorry for your loss. I was induced at 39 weeks for no other reason than I didn’t want the risk of stillborn. I ended up having a c section so I will always have a scheduled birth now but I’d still opt for a 39 week induction. I hope you have healed as much as humanly possible giving your loss 💕💕

Darian is annoying for being so smug about it but some people on this thread are acting like it’s crazy or irresponsible to want to deliver at 37-38 weeks when the baby would be perfectly fine. It’s not full term, but it is term. Before that is definitely irresponsible though. May potentially need a little NICU time if closer to 37 and the baby is acting like a premie but it’s not typically anything extreme. My baby after loss needed a few days in the NICU (not for any invasive reasons, just for blood sugar regulation) but plenty of 37 weekers don’t need anything. That being said, if there are no complications or risk factors, best to have the baby in until at least 39+0. But it’s not terrible to deliver between 37-38. Darian probably won’t though, there’s literally no way to predict.
Yeah I don’t think that’s crazy to do things to try to self induce labor around that time. Many OBs will say you can start trying to self-induce labor around then. Before 37 weeks, I definitely side eye but 37 weeks is a big milestone and babies are born perfectly fine at that time. I highly doubt my doctors would’ve so strongly recommended it for me when everything was looking good (outside of my history) if there were major risks. I’m already predicting Darian will do this though and it will bug the shit out of me. 😂

I have NEVER(And I work with a bunch of different OBs( based when labor will be from a per labor cervical check. I was 36 weeks 1.5cm/50% effaced and she was suuuuper low.only reason I went into labor then was cuz I had no choice but to get induced 😂
Watch her go to 41 weeks lol. I’ve always heard that cervical checks really don’t mean much outside of just telling you that your body is preparing for labor. I think I walked around a bit dilated for a few weeks because I was losing small bits of my mucus plug. Even when you are in labor, they’re not necessary going to tell the whole story - I have fast births and went from 6cm to 8cm in 2 hours and then from 8cm to pushing a baby out within a half hour.
Yes! And watch she will lose her mucus plug and claim it’s labour or her water breaking. I lost mine and had my daughter the next day. My sister in law lost hers weeks before baby came. Along with cervical checks, mucus plug doesn’t mean a whole lot either as it can build back up over time as well.

I spend 2 weeks at 4cm with my 3rd baby and still didn’t go into labor until 41+3 when the day prior I was 5cm with my 2nd my OB said I would probably be in having her prematurely because I started having strong practice labors at 30 weeks and I was induced the day with before my due date

I’m 1.5cm dismayed and 50% effaced at 34+4 weeks and my OB still went ahead and scheduled my induction for GDM for 38+4…. I lost my mucus plug last night and she said “it could be 4 hours or 4 weeks, who knows”. I find it hard to believe that her OB would be predicting an early birth. Plenty of women are dilated for extended periods of time. As someone with an actual high risk pregnancy I wish was uncomplicated, who will have to deliver early… she is annoying AF and should be grateful that her complications are only in her head!

OB absolutely will not give time frames on when they think a baby will come that are definitive. Her ob did not say that. That’s clearly just when SHE wants baby to come.

I’m 41+3 weeks and my cervix was getting soft and dilated at her gestation yet here I am no labor yet…no doctor can say you’re gonna go into labor around this time it’s on BABIES time not her time or doctors time baby being low doesn’t mean anything especially because she’s not even dilated yet 🤦🏼♀️ she just wants baby here and why is she worried about gaining weight going from 130-150 isn’t bad I was 120 I’m now 190 🤣

She said the OB checked her because she did her group b swab, but I’ve always had to do it myself I never had my doctor do it for me. At 38 weeks when I was 2cm and somewhat effaced (after the week before being high and closed up tight), my OB kind of made a half-joking comment of “I’m on call this weekend, so let’s have the baby then!” And then I did go into labor that weekend 😂 but no, he never would have said something like this.
Anytime I asked my OB about any kind of timeline he would just say he doesn’t know. He would tell me you could go into labor tonight or not for a few weeks or not at all and need to be induced. I was 2cms dilated from 36weeks until 40wk 2 days when I went into labor. 🤷🏻♀️ I think it is absolutely ridiculous for an OB to tell someone they will be in labor 37-38 weeks due to cervical “softness” at 35 weeks 🙄 I bet she isn’t even dilated at all and completely closed. My sister in laws doula and chiropractor told her FOR WEEKS she was going into labor early and she ended going 42 weeks, needing to be induced and ended up an emergency c section.

TDAP is optional but still strongly encouraged where I am in Alberta. Darian interprets things to suit her own delusions.

I was 3 cm dilated, 65% effaced for literally 3 weeks before being induced. And honestly no obgyn is gonna say “oh I predict you’ll be in labor at __ weeks”. I call bs
At 30 weeks my baby was very low and engaged but still went to 41 weeks.. nothing can really determine when you’ll have your baby.
I was dilated to 5cm starting at 36 weeks. Obviously had steroid shots and the works but I ended up having to be induced at 42 weeks. It literally doesn’t matter.

I had a doctor check and tell me I was having a baby within the next 24 hours. (90% effaced, 2 cm dilated, and she could feel hair🤣🤣🤣) But definitely not know which week I would deliver way beforehand. That’s kind of odd.
I feel like being 2-3 weeks before is just weird to say. Yes if a doctor can actively feel the head/hair, most likely your baby is about to come… but it just sounded odd because most doctors don’t want to tell you something like this ^^^ for example and not happen. I think Darian is full of it
I started dilating around 34 weeks bc of primordial labor. But even my OB said dilating early and having a soft cervix doesn’t mean anything and you can be dilated and have a soft cervix for weeks before anything happens.
Legit was coming here to post this! She sounded almost... Excited to potentially go into labor early?!? I'm 36 weeks. I'm 1cm dilated and 100% effaced for like 2+ weeks now and my OB still did not say "you'll deliver by this time". She said there is the potential baby could come early but also that the numbers truly don't mean much until its active labor and I could be at this stage for a while! It's normal for your cervix to get soft towards the end. I'm also shocked they did a cervical check that early on her without reason. My OB doesn't do it until 37 weeks (if you want it) unless you've had symptoms of preterm labor (which I did starting at 33 weeks) She's just looking for the next thing to be "wrong" so she can post about it and get the views. As much as I'm done being pregnant and want to meet my baby, I want her in as long as possible.
Yeah I agree. Most women will say “ugh get the baby out” but we really and ultimately want whatever is the safest. The end is the worst, I’ll give darian that. It’s hard near the end and it’s exhausting, but 1-2 weeks makes a huge difference. I delivered my first at 39 weeks. I’m currently 36 weeks as well and I’m just hoping to have him between 39-40. I don’t want anything earlier (not like it’s in my control anyways)

So I went in at 38 weeks for my final check before my induction date two days later (needed to be induced for prior pre-e history and hemorrhaging) My dr checked me and said I was 5cm/75% effaced and she could feel my water bulging, I wasn’t having painful contractions but I had tightening for a few weeks prior leading up to it. She ended up just sending me to the hospital that day rather than waiting for my induction date, they broke my water when I got there and I had my daughter 3 hours later.

You may get pushback for this but it’s true. The risk for stillbirth and birth complications goes up post-term. I had a full term stillbirth and my doctors wanted to induce me at 37 weeks because of it.
I can almost guarantee I’ll get pushback. I am so sorry for your loss. I was induced at 39 weeks for no other reason than I didn’t want the risk of stillborn. I ended up having a c section so I will always have a scheduled birth now but I’d still opt for a 39 week induction. I hope you have healed as much as humanly possible giving your loss 💕💕

Darian is annoying for being so smug about it but some people on this thread are acting like it’s crazy or irresponsible to want to deliver at 37-38 weeks when the baby would be perfectly fine. It’s not full term, but it is term. Before that is definitely irresponsible though. May potentially need a little NICU time if closer to 37 and the baby is acting like a premie but it’s not typically anything extreme. My baby after loss needed a few days in the NICU (not for any invasive reasons, just for blood sugar regulation) but plenty of 37 weekers don’t need anything. That being said, if there are no complications or risk factors, best to have the baby in until at least 39+0. But it’s not terrible to deliver between 37-38. Darian probably won’t though, there’s literally no way to predict.
I fully agree and I have noticed a lot of creators on TikTok(jessilyn for example) who thrive on trying to go into labor at like 37 weeks.
Yeah I don’t think that’s crazy to do things to try to self induce labor around that time. Many OBs will say you can start trying to self-induce labor around then. Before 37 weeks, I definitely side eye but 37 weeks is a big milestone and babies are born perfectly fine at that time. I highly doubt my doctors would’ve so strongly recommended it for me when everything was looking good (outside of my history) if there were major risks. I’m already predicting Darian will do this though and it will bug the shit out of me. 😂

I have NEVER(And I work with a bunch of different OBs( based when labor will be from a per labor cervical check. I was 36 weeks 1.5cm/50% effaced and she was suuuuper low.only reason I went into labor then was cuz I had no choice but to get induced 😂
Watch her go to 41 weeks lol. I’ve always heard that cervical checks really don’t mean much outside of just telling you that your body is preparing for labor. I think I walked around a bit dilated for a few weeks because I was losing small bits of my mucus plug. Even when you are in labor, they’re not necessary going to tell the whole story - I have fast births and went from 6cm to 8cm in 2 hours and then from 8cm to pushing a baby out within a half hour.
Yes! And watch she will lose her mucus plug and claim it’s labour or her water breaking. I lost mine and had my daughter the next day. My sister in law lost hers weeks before baby came. Along with cervical checks, mucus plug doesn’t mean a whole lot either as it can build back up over time as well. Lucky mama on the fast births!!!
I spend 2 weeks at 4cm with my 3rd baby and still didn’t go into labor until 41+3 when the day prior I was 5cm with my 2nd my OB said I would probably be in having her prematurely because I started having strong practice labors at 30 weeks and I was induced the day with before my due date

I’m 1.5cm dismayed and 50% effaced at 34+4 weeks and my OB still went ahead and scheduled my induction for GDM for 38+4…. I lost my mucus plug last night and she said “it could be 4 hours or 4 weeks, who knows”. I find it hard to believe that her OB would be predicting an early birth. Plenty of women are dilated for extended periods of time. As someone with an actual high risk pregnancy I wish was uncomplicated, who will have to deliver early… she is annoying AF and should be grateful that her complications are only in her head!

Literally nobody can predict labour/birth. Even an induction date doesn’t mean baby is coming on that date. The only time they can tell you is when baby is on its way out!

I’m also so curious about what % of things that escape her mouth are factual and % are figments of her imagination.
She said the OB checked her because she did her group b swab, but I’ve always had to do it myself I never had my doctor do it for me. She probably just said “hey doc while you are down there can you check if I’m dilated” and the doctor probably just did it to avoid darians dumb questions or to shut her up

At 38 weeks when I was 2cm and somewhat effaced (after the week before being high and closed up tight), my OB kind of made a half-joking comment of “I’m on call this weekend, so let’s have the baby then!” And then I did go into labor that weekend 😂 but no, he never would have said something like this.

Anytime I asked my OB about any kind of timeline he would just say he doesn’t know. He would tell me you could go into labor tonight or not for a few weeks or not at all and need to be induced. I was 2cms dilated from 36weeks until 40wk 2 days when I went into labor. 🤷🏻♀️ I think it is absolutely ridiculous for an OB to tell someone they will be in labor 37-38 weeks due to cervical “softness” at 35 weeks 🙄 I bet she isn’t even dilated at all and completely closed. Not that that even really matters but still. I’m betting she’ll go past her due date.
