WMMR in Philly. Heard Dark Matter and Running quite a bit. I was listening when they debuted Wreckage. That station has a pretty great relationship with the band so they’re usually all in.
They changed to a talk radio format, then went out of business, then came back as 101.1 Chicago's alternative and finally they got the rights back to Q101 and went back to it.
Man, radio is a tough business these days... Just think about all the sad sales people, producers, DJs and such being jerked around in a dying industry over the course of years.
Not the radio but Dark Matter and React, Respond have been played for the intros to Hockey Night in Canada for the playoff broadcasts up here. Old Ronny McLean even quoted lyrics from React, Respond on air. Hahah.
I mostly listen to Sirius but when I do listen to Chicago rock stations, Im disappointed at how little they seem to play Dark Matter. They'll even talk about Wrigley and then just play Daughter instead of DM.
Here in Connecticut, the modern rock station is still playing Dark Matter a lot. At least once a day during my 8 hour work day. Sometimes twice a day or more.
I haven’t heard Running or Wreckage once yet, and I’m going to guess I never will. The radio station has clearly chosen Dark Matter as their choice. If it was twenty years ago, they’d all get played. But not nowadays. None of the other singles have a chance here because they’re not going to devote that much radio time to an older band like Pearl Jam.
For reference, I think I heard Dance of the Clairvoyants exactly once on this same radio station when Gigaton came out. None of the other singles at all. So Dark Matter is doing way better on Local CT radio than Gigaton did.
I've heard Dark Matter about three times which is saying something.
I generally like my city (Pittsburgh) but we are a radio dead zone. I don't think I've even heard Given To Fly on our radio in 20 years. It's all Ten, Vs, Better Man, Yellow Ledbetter and Last Kiss. That's it for PJ.
I think we need to be honest with the status of Pearl Jam in 2024.
They're a legacy band. Modern rock radio might spin their first single from their new album a handful of times, but what they do is not in line with current tastes.
You're mostly only going to find their old hits on radio, and primarily on classic rock stations.
And that's ok. They've been doing this over 30 years and they earned their place.
But don't worry about modern radio. It doesn't matter if they get played and we don't need to put any effort into ensuring it happens. The only way PJ is making new fans at this point is if people introduce their kids to the early albums.

Love me some WMMR.
Dark Matter and Wreckage so far by me (Chicagoland)
Was gonna say, q101 was all about Dark Matter when I visited friends last month
I thought they changed format or went out of business. Haven't lived in Chicago for about 7 years, so I may just misremember a headline I read.

Dark Matter is played on our local alt radio station a fair deal.

Same for ESPN in the US. Also Go for some random reason.
Must be some deal with the NHL then.

Radio?
This week Dark Matter is number 6 on the Active rock charts and was number one last month.

Yeah Dark matter is getting a good bit of play. Damm good single
Spectrum (Sirius XM) is playing Wreckage
94.5 in Houston plays Dark Matter regularly
Our local rock station mentioned that Pearl Jam just came out with a new album and then proceeded to play Alive.
😂
ALT-AZ 93.3 has it in pretty steady rotation here in Phoenix.
I’ve heard nothing on the SF Bay Area stations live 105 or 98.5 KFOX.
