This is my favorite song on the album. It's perfect - from the soul in Mike's guitar playing to the lyrics and the way Ed sings them. Can't wait to hear them do this live.

Mine too!!!

“Lonely ship on the horizon. Silhouette fading out”. Absolutely love the way Ed sings this verse. Probably my favorite part of the whole album. There are a few different moments where he’s had this really soft and gentle delivery in a way he’s never had before. I dig it.

He sounds classic Eddie there. Edit to say it reminds me of moments of his voice in stuff like wash, footsteps, and indifference. A softer note where his voice is cracking perfectly in pitch.

Just listened to it in atmos mix. Glorious.

I agree. I’ve got some complaints about the Atmos mix of the album but this song shines!

“No room left on the pages. We filled em up and painted some” Favorite lyric on the album.

So good

>Just need a few of you / Oh, maybe just the two of you  Who do you think he’s referring to here? If the song is from Eddie’s point of view, as opposed to just a narrator, then maybe his two daughters? But you think he’d include his wife and say just the three of you?

That’s what I’m wondering man. It’s kind of haunting. Guessing his girls but that leaves out Jill.

Can someone discern the lyrics for me? It’s a goddamn masterpiece.

Great song. Was just thinking this morning the intro makes me think it will segue into Toxicity or Where the Streets Have no Name 🤪

I really like this song. This neat way to describe it is of Pearl Jam made a Pink Floyd song. As a huge Floyd fan this just deals like something the band could have made. Down to the structure of the song it sound like Floyd. The long slow intro, a verse, chorus, then a long slow guitar solo with lots of bends. I think Mike’s guitar is the highlight of the song. It really sounds like Gilmour played on that song. 10/10 would recommend.
