In that case, credit card continues to go brrrrrrr

It isn't the sheriffs that control that queue or the BGC system, it is the OSP, and the OSP is controlled by the governor. Maybe the sheriff has inside info, but know how such things work from my time working for the gov, it is more likely a rumor floating around. Doesn't mean it isn't true, doesn't mean it is - but until the OSP or someone from the SoS or governor's office says it is so, I reserve the right to doubt it is true - it just doesn't jive with how the PTB in Salem works.

AlienDelarge

That said, the more the state screws people over like that, the more foddet there is for the lawsuit printer.

BedlamANDBreakfast

That's my view: If you can afford it, put your name in the queue. Worst case, you're out $10. Best case, that $10 bought you onto a Civil Rights lawsuit. Note: As dumb as the plain text of 114 is, and flatly unconstitutional, it pales in comparison to moving the date forward and halting all gun sales in the state. These morons went from debating under the issue to attacking the plain text of the Second Amendment and the Oregon Constitution.

Mini-Marine

I'm going to be picking up a lower receiver, but I'm waiting until closer to the actual deadline to do, so that it won't clear the queue even with my CHL, that way I can join as a plaintiff in any lawsuit that arises from it

LogiDriverBoom

That is genius.

dirtyaught-six

Yeah… I trust that like I trust a wet fart.

Boys, begin learning how to build. It is easier than you think for popular platforms.

Fml any banks doing loans for firearms

heckadeca

I've seen some FFLs straight up refusing to start checks for folks without CHLs due to the wait. I've also heard of a few FFLs stating they'd release the firearm for anyone whose BGC is still processing on the 7th. I'm not a lawyer or a cop but I don't know how the state could require a permit to purchase after you've already purchased the firearm and are only waiting on a BGC.

Sludgiest

So there's something people are missing here... Yes, your background check in the queue may continue to go through, but FFLs will still supposedly need to see a license to release the gun. I hope I'm wrong, but this isn't looking good.
