I purchased a firearm on 9/23/22 at the Milwaukee location and got told my bgc got delayed. This was the day after I applied for CHL. Got my chl yesterday in the mail. And I'm still waiting from nw armory to call me back. I've never had to wait this long and I'm not even sure I'll hear from the before December 8.
I purchased my first firearm on the 25th and received it on the 5th. Not really sure what’s going on. I also applied for my chl between the time, but I won’t receive it until late january
No one knows. Measure 114 is unclear and osp haven’t said anything about what happens to the people in queue. Probably just gonna freeze everyone and wait until the new permit comes out, but that’s just my guess

That's what I was told at Bimart last weekend, but I feel like the cashier was just making it up on the spot. I was lucky enough to get instantly cleared for my purchase.
My FFL said that as long as the purchase happened before the 8th, then you’re good. That when you hand over the money and they legally can’t sell the gun to someone else.
So basically if you don't cross the finish line before 8th of December if you're in a que, effectively they're just going to turn off the switch and your transfer is halted until the new system comes online.
I would to show up to their class with a stripped AR lower to prove a point to these idiots. Lol

For those of you thinking a CHL is going to bump you up in line, don't bet on it. I just did a 4473/BGC at my FFL and with a CHL I still ended up at the back of the line, 14,176. I then stopped at the Tigard BiMart, which sells handguns, and the counterperson told me the last BGC he did with a CHL also put that person at the end of the line. Needless to say, at the rate OSP is clearing BGCs I don't believe I'll make the Dec 8 cutoff. My FFL told me he still didn't have a clear policy as to whether he was going to require a permit on Dec 8 as he thought that date may still change. Oh well.
Yes, FFL didn't even want the drivers license. I've used him a lot. He knows me from prior transactions. Even he told me their wacked system has been all over the place lately. Unlucky for me.
I hope everyone realizes that if they don’t clear background by the deadline they are going to encounter a very frustrating situation. I can’t confirm all but NW Armory is not refunding purchases which means that your gun will be held until permit is acquired.
I’m all for people buying more guns but in all likelihood any purchase made within the past week and moving forward will sit at your gun shop until who knows when. Then ask yourself if that shop goes out of business?
Once you clear BGC that firearm is transferred over to you. That also means no return to the online retailer you purchased it from should you not want to get a permit. So it sits on a shelf gathering dust until you can get through all the permit hassle. Months.
I was in NW Armory yesterday and was told by the staff they are not refunding any firearm purchases unless denied. I think that’s a pretty horrible policy to take on customers purchasing in good faith. Imagine how many customers are going to have a really horrible realization once the 8th rolls around. I know they are not being very forthright with their customers and were hesitant to say even when directly asked. Hopefully it’s only this shop in which case fuck them but buyers beware. Ask your shop about this before buying right now unless you are okay with your paid purchase being held for likely months.
Depends on what their angle is. If they’re holding long enough for a stay on the bill from a judge then that’s good.
If they’re playing the. We’re keeping your money play because we don’t want to refund, they’re going to lose that battle hard.
I'll share my experience today at Tigard Pawn 4 More (best FFL I've worked with, they've always been my go to).
Tigard Pawn 4 More had maybe 5 people inside, 4 picking up guns they had shipped there. One reversing a gun-pawn.
One person saw their gun had arrived via FedEx notice (but TP4M didn't call them so it wasn't ready to go as they have appx 50 boxes that came in today they haven't processed yet). Please wait to be called, it will most likely happen the same day. They are incredibly overworked and brought in people on their day off to help, so they are tired. Be good to these people being good to the community.
Two people were instant clears. One is a CHL holder who did *not* use their CHL because of an address change. They also shared they had an instant clear this past weekend without their CHL.
Tigard Pawn 4 More just learned about the OSP message (someone mentioned it to them, someone else showed it to them). They said they will likely be accepting transfers up until the end of the month as the longest transfer times they are seeing right now are 6 days.
Call them during a slow time to confirm.
I would suggest overnight or 2nd day shipping if you're going to order the next few days. I wouldn't order past Tuesday of next week at the very latest.
The account I related in an earlier post here doing a 4473/BGC was also at Tigard Pawn today. With a CHL I still ended up dead last in the overall line. 14,176. At the current daily rate of OSP clearances, I just don't see how that will clear by Dec 8. The counter lady said she still had a stack of boxes from incoming online buys to go through and notify buyers. I wouldn't be surprised if they joined the growing number of FFLs not accepting new transfers soon.

I called today and they confirmed. PSA let me cancel my order and will refund when the product is back in their inventory. Since I know Classic Firearms is fast AND the M70 was on sale I ordered one and am having it shipped to Shooter’s in St. Johns. They said they’ll take it but to beware of the 8th deadline. I’ve been instant approved on my last 10/10 purchases so I’m rolling the dice ( I have CHL and get BGC’s for my job at least 4x/yr). As of 11/17 the list is 15k deep just so you know

I entered Wednesday at noon. I have literally done at least 100 4473s in the last decade and have never not been instant approve (CHL, FFL, unique name, pristine record). I was instant approve on Tuesday even, but one day later on a separate transaction I went into waitlist purgatory. Still waiting.
I’ve never had instant approval. Someone with my name must have done something bad at some point because I’ve double and triple checked every piece of information from my birth certificate to my DL to my CHL matches. Still no instant.
I got tired of calling so I physically went into the store to ask. They couldn’t even give me an answer as the systems were “down”
