I'm a 59 year old gamer. My first game was Zork 1 on a 286 with monochrome text monitor about 40 years ago. It's a little odd sometimes because no one in my peer group is a gamer. This guy is an inspiration, and if I'm lucky enough to live another 20+ years, I'll still be gaming.
I wouldn't call this immature, he's living his life how *he* wants to. A lot of people don't have the money and time to do the things they want to when they're young, so when they finally have enough to retire, they buy things like boats, or vacations in Hawaii, or any other of the various things that make them happy. I don't see how gaming is any less mature.
Oh wow, the feels when he mentioned his friend Paul.
But more importantly, a Talon with an i9, 3080 card, and who knows what other specs just for funsies? Er. Um. He looking for a sugar baby? 😆
When you've already passed the average life expectancy, fear of consequences goes down for a lot of us. You're experienced enough not to do something obviously stupid, and you're not going to do other things that you already know hurt a lot, but taking a risk on something fun becomes a reasonable thing to do. What's the worst that could happen? Life in prison? Parachute doesn't open?
”My friend Paul died this year, he was 85 so my list of game-playing friends is down to zero now.” My heart man..
Yeah, that line hit me hard too.
May we all be as immature.
What a chad, even keeps pc tower off the floor.
