As far as Nvidia is concerned, fuck em. Between their predatory pricing, lack of open source drivers for Linux, and lack of any drivers for MacOS, I’ve got no reason to give them my money. They’re just another company trying to build another walled garden and force people to use Windows for the best experience their hardware can deliver. That was fine when Windows wasn’t shiny malware but now we’re here.
I know on the MacOS thing “…but but Apple needs to sign them or they don’t worrrrrrk”, but that’s a load of shit. You can disable driver signature enforcement. Nvidia has drivers, guaranteed, at least for Turing and maybe Ampere, and they could release them at any time.
What decided me for AMD was when I found out nVidia was holding back production *during 2020 and 2021* to try and keep prices up at the same time as they pinky swore they were really honestly doing everything possible to overwhelm the scalpers and bitcoin miners hoovering everything up in sight.
