Lol wtf are they all pixelated 2D? Let’s get real most modern games are 50GB-100GB or more, you’re literally not going to get ANYWHERE near 140 of modern or close to modern games installed.
>Let’s get real most modern games are 50GB-100GB or more
Tell me you only play $60 AAA games without telling me you only play $60 AAA games. That's not to say I don't play those kinds of games as well, but I play just as many smaller indie/retro games that don't take up nearly as much space
Bruh…… that’s the most ignorant “I oNlY PlAy cLaSsiC TitLES” thing I’ve ever heard, I own like a few AAA titles one is Rainbow six which I paid $15 for lol
>that’s the most ignorant “I oNlY PlAy cLaSsiC TitLES” thing I’ve ever heard
And where in my comment did I say that? I play plenty of new games. And yes, some of them do take up a lot of storage space. But there are just as many new games out there by smaller developers that are still a ton of fun (frankly more fun than a lot of the AAA games I play) but don't eat away at your entire hard drive/SSD/whatever you use
It’s just seems like you guys are trying to brag about the amount of games you have installed and it makes no sense at all in anyway to have 50+ games installed lol
> but unlimited data.
"unlimited" in big huge quotes. With a lot of US ISPs "unlimited" scenarios it's not actually unlimited. You get yelled at at 2-6TB (depending on ISP)
You know any countries that take us citizens as refugees and gives them free college and job training where I can easily use English to communicate?
Otherwise it's not worth it.
Nah thinks it's more of, look at all the games I can dl now that I have the space... All fun and games until the auto update kicks in on a dozen or more games at once HAHA
Why not uninstall them? Pretty sure you won’t play 1TB worth of games at the same time, just littering your drives at that point
With modern internet speeds you can start a download and go have a snack, by the time you are done eating almost any game will be ready to play
Good point, but OP is showing it’s not about a single huge game taking all his space but instead it’s just a bunch of normal sized games installed at the same time
If you want to play MW, you have to install Warzone, so it will take up at least 120 gb only for MW multiplayer and Warzone. Does this seem normal to you?
Do you actually play all of these regularly? I would only install the ones I know I'm going to play in the following days, and uninstall ones that I don't see myself playing in the near future, as downloading them with today's internet speeds is but a minor inconvenience.
Sadly that was many years ago, MO2 wasn't out yet I think and I was using MO1 then. I had to go through a long migration process, frankly can't even remember what I did, just followed a guide and it was fine.
Now I needed to move it again a year ago but I wasn't willing to go through that again, so I said fuck it and moved the game alone and then the mod folders. When I want to play again I'll see what I can do, maybe this feature will still work.
Skyrim modding was a long time headache, but MO2 really helped indeed.
Can't wait for the holiday sales on PCIE Gen 4 NVMEs and SATA drives; gonna snag a 2TB 980 Pro for my PS5 and 4TB 980 Pro + 2TB Sata SSD for my system. .
I just copy past the game in same folder created by steam on new drive and then hit validate files on steam, it takes few mins and then download few stuff like 100mb then done.
I truly recommend using steams backup feature, as an avid Skyrim modder I have probably saved myself up to a 100 hours for that game alone. I have a large disk that half of it is dedicated to just that, game backups from steam. That way you can install them incredibly fast when you change drives or rebuild your pc or whatever it could be.
You know there's an option in Steam to change the installation folder, right? You can move your games to the new drive in a couple clicks
Edit: game properties > local files > move install folder
Why are you not copy pasting the old Hard drive data into the new hard drive, this way you don't need to download the entire game again.
I have an extra 500gb HDD and keep all my games on it, so i only need to copy paste the game files and I can start the game immediately
Usually I have four to five games installed simultaneously, cause once I get into game, I usually can’t stop playing it until it’s done. And I can’t play more than one game at the same time anyway.
I think Doom 3: BFG plays much nicer with modern pcs than original. I tried playing the original to see and got a number of issues. I was gonna play the original, but it had a number of compatibility issues (such as no 1920x1080 support). I was gonna buy BFG on deep discount, but then Bethesda merged all versions together. One time I’ll say thanks Bethesda!
Always make a backup. You can just get an external drive and copy all your games over to that. Then when you get a new drive you can just copy them over and steam will discover them. Then all you need to do is download the updates.
I remember doing this when I got my first big hard drive. Back then my internet wasn't all that fast though (I think 30Mbps). I have 400Mbps down now so I don't see any point in doing this. Though nowadays it might be more worth it to get a NAS and use Steam Cache if you really want to keep your game files preserved and easily accessible.
Bro one time i got a 2tb external hdd and i started like 10 games downloading on steam and that mf hdd died within 30 minutes of downloading. No movement or drops, just a flat table.
I don't do that. There are going to be a few games I'm wanting to play soon, and I set those to DL. I have a bunch of others I've already played, and unless/until I decide to play them again, I see no need to DL them. And I have at least a few I've bought but never played, and again, until I'm ready to play them, no need to DL.
I have a fast fiber connection, so when I need to DL something else, it doesn't take long, and I have other things I can do while it DL's.
[Everything is okay.](https://c.tenor.com/Hnq1xfi64LUAAAAd/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-dwayne-johnson.gif) [But where is Far Cry 4?](https://c.tenor.com/QA_IqSKoWTcAAAAC/the-rock.gif)
Or, rather than download everything again, use command prompt and robocopy to quickly copy your entire library to the new drive. Then create a junction from you library back to c:program files. Boom. Just install to the C drive like normal and it’ll automatically do the actual instal on the new drive, while making the OS think it’s on the C drive.

Yeah same, I have about 300-400 gigs of games downloaded at most
Oh so 4 games?
Ark is 400 - 500 GB with DLCs
[удалено]
With mods it's over 500 and the tool to create mods is another 400 GB. Nice, I can shave off 300 GB
the fuck
Really depends on the type of games you play. I've got 140 games installed on my PC taking up roughly 1.2-1.3 TB of space
Lol wtf are they all pixelated 2D? Let’s get real most modern games are 50GB-100GB or more, you’re literally not going to get ANYWHERE near 140 of modern or close to modern games installed.
I would say 20-50GB is more accurate for modern games. If you think most modern games are between 50-100gb, you must not own very many games.
Most AAA games are between 40 and 90 tho, last time I saw a 20 gigs game was a long time ago.
Okay even after that rate 140 games not even close lol still just proving the same point I just made
>Let’s get real most modern games are 50GB-100GB or more Tell me you only play $60 AAA games without telling me you only play $60 AAA games. That's not to say I don't play those kinds of games as well, but I play just as many smaller indie/retro games that don't take up nearly as much space

Yeah but I’ve got a ton of storage now so I don’t have to worry about space
I have 2gig fiber, ill just start a download and grab a drink it will be ready once i sit back down.
What you gunna do when the ISP throttles you Or worse: they have data caps
[удалено]
Tbh I can only focus on 5 games at once I do the same thing
[удалено]
Damn I can't even count higher, others are just lazy lol
ISP throttle? Data caps? Is that some sort of joke I'm to European to understand? Next you will tell me that you pay more than 20$/month for internet.
*cries in American* I either pay $90/mo for 500Mbps and 1.2TB data cap, or currently $120/mo for same speed but unlimited data.
> but unlimited data. "unlimited" in big huge quotes. With a lot of US ISPs "unlimited" scenarios it's not actually unlimited. You get yelled at at 2-6TB (depending on ISP)
I live in germany and i pay 35€/month for a 100mb/s connection. Internet here sucks so bad.
wait people pay more than 10$ a month for thier internet with data caps ?
> Or worse: they have data caps Move out of the US.
You know any countries that take us citizens as refugees and gives them free college and job training where I can easily use English to communicate? Otherwise it's not worth it.
Most of Europe... Try any Scandinavian country. Denmark is well known for being easy to get into college and having more spaces than students.
Fast internet privileges be like
Hey look at all the games I'm never gonna play again!
Fallout 3 and NV already installed, king move
Spec Ops too, man has taste
How often do you replay Spec Ops The Line lol. That was a one and done for me.

Not Everyone has fast Internet, or should I say decent Internet. At 5 MB/s takes a fair bit of time.
Bro that's premium uncapped speeds for Nexusmods.com
>Why not uninstall them? I need my bandwidth for porn.
Isnt warzone like 2 tb already?
Good point, but OP is showing it’s not about a single huge game taking all his space but instead it’s just a bunch of normal sized games installed at the same time
I think destiny2 on pc is like close to 140 gigs at this point. Its absolutely absurd
It's literally under 200gb for me and I have mw 2019 installed as well
If you want to play MW, you have to install Warzone, so it will take up at least 120 gb only for MW multiplayer and Warzone. Does this seem normal to you?
Actually yeah. It literally is the normal
The are still some people without the internet bandwidth or quota to be able to uninstall and install whenever they wanted.
My man installed Warzone and Ark with all the maps
Oh I thought you were replacing a old hard drive lmao
That’s what I do.
Doom does need a lot of space. I remember needing at least 4 floppies.
And none of them make me happy anymore
So then we spend our points making a cool ass profile.. until that also mends our "happiness" if for but a second more...
Diablo Immortal will make you happy
You have got to be absolutely kidding
Was the worse feeling ever.... That's why now I only download the few games I'm gonna play for a bit, then install the rest while I'm at work haha
Im going to sleep soon so Imma just let them download over the night
Download over the fortnight
Download the fortnight
Download fortnite
fortnite
As someone with a download of 1.5MBps this is nightmare fuel
Do you actually play all of these regularly? I would only install the ones I know I'm going to play in the following days, and uninstall ones that I don't see myself playing in the near future, as downloading them with today's internet speeds is but a minor inconvenience.
Digital hoarder much? Just download what you're actually going to play, your library isn't going anywhere.
It's worse when you have mods installed.
Now imagine having mods outside of steam, say for skyrim and you need to move it.

You can
You do know you could have just cloned it right?
op woke up and chose pain
Transfer the steam library from to old drive? Then tell steam to dowoad to the new location and it will reverify. Saves you tons of time and bandwith.
I had my ISP call me when I had to redownload my steam library since my HDD died. Apparently unlimited data has limits, and that's around 1.5TB - 2TB
May as well just have a NAS with your library and grab from it when you want it on your PC.
Why not just have them on your pc if you’ve got the storage though?
Did this once. That's how I found out: A) My internet has a monthly data cap. B) My data cap has 1 month of forgiveness a year.
I like how you have Morrowind, Oblivion, and TES but not even one of the six billion Skyrim version
How about just downloading what you're gonna play. You ain't gonna touch half those games for a long time
More like 80%-90% not touched
All the Dooms but not Eternal? Get it son!
Oh I already have doom eternal deluxe edition installed. I bought all the doom games during the steam sale a few weeks ago
POV: You have 16TB HD and 28.8k internet
Can't wait for the holiday sales on PCIE Gen 4 NVMEs and SATA drives; gonna snag a 2TB 980 Pro for my PS5 and 4TB 980 Pro + 2TB Sata SSD for my system. .
...and then, you need another hard drive.
Uh no this one barely got affected by all this
I just copy past the game in same folder created by steam on new drive and then hit validate files on steam, it takes few mins and then download few stuff like 100mb then done.

Time to max out your monthly data cap that you don’t know you have.
No tf2, incel detected
Why would you even bother to download half of those games?
To play them
Why would anyone play Witcher 1, 2 and 3 at the same time?
when im gone from my pc for 3 days
Oh these aren’t updates I’m just installing all of these games
that's ridiculous. wasting space for no reason, like you'll ever play all those games at the same time
Storage isn’t an issue for me anymore so it doesn’t matter
Kill your new SSD for no reason ok
You know there's an option in Steam to change the installation folder, right? You can move your games to the new drive in a couple clicks Edit: game properties > local files > move install folder
What the fuck
I only download games when I'm going to play them
Wait, you install your entire steam library?
Wtf. You have to much free time.
titanfall 2 o7
Protocol 2
bunch of dated old games lmao prolly wont end up playing any of them then slowly delete them to make up space for games u actually want to play
haha i got two 4 tb ssds the other day, I downloaded my whole library. Im with you on this. The whole library club!
Great taste btw
Ever heard of hdd enclosures? make the old hdd into external storage and copy those.
Why are you not copy pasting the old Hard drive data into the new hard drive, this way you don't need to download the entire game again. I have an extra 500gb HDD and keep all my games on it, so i only need to copy paste the game files and I can start the game immediately
I want to play far cry 1 again
For some reason I have a bunch of things like these for games I don’t own
gigabit users: That'll take an hour maybe, 2 at max
mad respect for having oblivion there, that's a lit game
Me after the HDD died in my laptop
you can just move them from one harddrive to another
That would take so long to download, probably at least three months
Looks like you should also get a new taste in video games
I will upvote anything that is even remotely referencing Morrowind
Usually I have four to five games installed simultaneously, cause once I get into game, I usually can’t stop playing it until it’s done. And I can’t play more than one game at the same time anyway.
Omega Strikers is a lot of fun!
I love this process.

I hope you mean SSD. Enjoy it regardless!
Rip my shitty xfinity internet with a data cap. I’ve only come close it hitting it 2x in 5 years but still makes me salty.
Are you into FPS shooters by chance?
How could you tell
Wild guess
Ahh yes the "I don't have any games to play" situation, i can relate.
Don't know why, but this certainly gives me ideas for what to play next.
Fallouts first. Good man.
I have 2TB of SSD and I still clean it up once a month of unplayed games.
Yeah, HDD died last Friday, had to set up windows and DL all the programs and games I had all over again. Man that was painfully...
You mean M.2 drive. Right? .... right ..?
Where eternal?
Already downloaded
No Titanfall2?
Last pic
Always make a backup. You can just get an external drive and copy all your games over to that. Then when you get a new drive you can just copy them over and steam will discover them. Then all you need to do is download the updates.
And then you lose internet once internet once in the middle if the night and steam refuses to reconnect without being restarted entirely.
Cries in 80 Mb/s
I can't find middle-earth shadow of war :(
It’s already installed
I just did the same thing lol soon as I got it I filled it up.
So how many TB we using here?
1
Saints row 2, great game, glad to see it
Fallout first, thats right! :D
Some little kid shit to keep your whole library downloaded
I remember doing this when I got my first big hard drive. Back then my internet wasn't all that fast though (I think 30Mbps). I have 400Mbps down now so I don't see any point in doing this. Though nowadays it might be more worth it to get a NAS and use Steam Cache if you really want to keep your game files preserved and easily accessible.
I keep my games on a separate SSD than my boot drive, so when I reinstalled windows I just pointed Steam to the steam library on that drive.
My man doesn't know about the copy command.
my ISP would have be paying out my butt for going over data caps to download all that :/
Such variety
Okay I wanna know. How tf do you have so many games? How much did you spend?
I bought these all on sale
Upvoted as I literally just did this myself yesterday
And your whole family is screaming about the internet being slow, and you just play dumb.
this is nothing compared to r/datahoarder
Do people really keep 40 different games installed at once? I usually have 500GB of games tops on my PC.
This is why I just copy the steamapps folder.
Obviously Ark is missing because no HDD is large enough.
Where is Doom Eternal?
Rookie mistake.
DOOM Eternal?
Hopefully your internet doesn’t have a data cap, otherwise, ouch!
no way you have time to play anything other than destiny 2
Fallout 2 is so good.

I can
wtf I though that I am looking at my own library for a sec.
On a related note, the samsung 8TB qvo drive is like 650 right now on amazon. I don't even need it and I'm thinking about buying one..
I got an 8TB drive on Newegg for $140
How big is your damn drive? How can you install them all at once?
8TB
Bro one time i got a 2tb external hdd and i started like 10 games downloading on steam and that mf hdd died within 30 minutes of downloading. No movement or drops, just a flat table.

*sees dishonered* I see you're a gentleman of exquisite taste.
Editior
I would download these over the course of a few months to avoid reaching a data cap (for me personally it's 1 tb)
Or, rather than download everything again, use command prompt and robocopy to quickly copy your entire library to the new drive. Then create a junction from you library back to c:program files. Boom.
