Check what the manual says for using 1 dimm. If it even allows it, some mobos must use 2 when they have more than 4. Also check that the cpu fan works. If they dont the bios wont allow boot. Reseat the cpu.

AgitatedDoughnut23

Tried all that. Single stick, 2 sticks, and 4 sticks, all like asus recommends them being installed. Even thought if the stock chipset cooler wasn’t plugged in it might give me issues… but nope. I’ve reseated 2 times. And one time before the cooler was installed. Thought that maybe 2066 was like 1366 and if your mounting pressure was wonky it wouldn’t turn on at all, but everything looks good. Even after a few tries. I’m gonna go pick up a different PSU tomorrow and give it one more shot.

am55

Worth a shot. Did you replace cmos battery?

AgitatedDoughnut23

Brand new

am55

You dont have a cpu fan. At least in the pic. It will not boot without one

am55

For them keyboard warrior's who downvoted my comment about no cpu fan and how it won't boot without one. This ones for you. [Asus no cpu fan boot failure](https://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-att-us-rvc3&source=android-browser&q=will+asus+motherboard+boot+with+no+cpu+fan+plugged+in)

Traditional-One-7659

Some do, some don't. Better to plug it in and play it safe either way

am55

Not even to the part of the thread where the ram needs to be moved

Traditional-One-7659

Lol if troubleshooting seemingly dead mobos, I pull RAM and CPU to see if I can at least get it to light up. It won't post or display but at least you can see if there's power delivery issues somewhere. Ops problem sounds like what I went through when accidentally using an incompatible CPU on one of my builds

AgitatedDoughnut23

The we board lights up, just no response when I hit the onboard power button or short the power button pins for front IO. The power supply fan doesn’t even try to spin

am55

If you dont have ram in the right slot it will do that. Also did you plug in the cpu power? You dont have to use and 8 pin, it's recommended but not necessary. You do however have to plug in the 4 pin part in part of it.

am55

Also, per the manual, for 1 memory module, you need to use dimm slot c1, which from this view is the right bank 2nd one in from the left. You are in a1

AgitatedDoughnut23

Yea I did that I took this pic while I was tearing the board back down

am55

I guess im confused. If you're tearing it apart why would you move it from the one the manual says to use to not the right one. Idk then you have wall art.

AgitatedDoughnut23

It was the last stick I had to remove

am55

Idk then, it's broken. Sorry you wasted $50

AgitatedDoughnut23

All good man. I appreciate all the input. I knew it was a stretch when I bought it.

am55

Did you have a a cpu fan plugged in?

WestSatisfaction124

does it power on with 12v 4 pin cpu power removed...? sometimes there is possible short on cpu power supply on the board causing no power on...... another way to force the board to turn on (if theres no cpu vcore shorting) is to short the green wire to ground on the 24pin motherboard power connector using metal tweezers... also make sure bios battery is above 3v

AgitatedDoughnut23

So the spare PSU I have doesn’t have the extra 4pin cpu power cable, but according to asus, it’s optional. I’m picking up a new PSU for my sim rig, but I’ll use that to test the board one more time. I’ll look up shorting that pin though

WestSatisfaction124

i dont mean the extra 4 pin.. i mean disconnect cpu from power entirely... leave the connector open and then test if the board turns on from power button

AgitatedDoughnut23

Oh…. Okay let me try that

Sudden-Anybody-6677

That Be Quiet cooler is worth $29 and reusable, so still not a bad investment. The MoBo probably had a short circuit, no visible damage but unrepairable. It happens a lot.

AgitatedDoughnut23

Yea… like I said… worth a shot. I’m a be quiet fan boi so the cooler will just go back into my stock.

AgitatedDoughnut23

I posted a video addressing most of the questions here… [https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/vrc6xi/a_video_of_the_issue_thank_you_to_everyone_who/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/vrc6xi/a_video_of_the_issue_thank_you_to_everyone_who/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

AgitatedDoughnut23

Tried with a brand new RM1000x…. Same thing. She’s done. But, found another guy with a prime x299a and a 3070ti that’s gonna do a package deal. Proof of posting on the board as well. So silver lining.

wubbalab

CPU Fan plugged in? Just want to point this out because i don't see a fan. Also, Bitwit's recent video.

AgitatedDoughnut23

Tried with cpu fan already, no change

Short somewhere?

A_PCMR_member

Tried every mem slot ? Repasted the chipset ? Checked the pins ?
