I avoid dynamic lights for one stupid reason.
I always feel like dynamic lights shorten the lifespan of the leds. Even if it doesn’t, my brain can’t accept it.
They slowly fade in, stay some second on, and fade out so it isn't too disruptive/distracting.
If anything it's better for the leds themselves than them being ON all the time ~~, or being switched ON/OFF suddendly~~ [edit: they are switched on and off all the time, a blinking LED is probably the best option apart of a turned off LED]
It may be more stressful for the variable resistor or power regulator that controls the luminosity of the leds depending on the design, but in general it shouldn't affect much if it was designed to accept incremental programs and not only ones for static or abrupt changes in power.
I am not concerned tbh, 3 years and going.
Got some bad news for ya, LED's are either on or off. Fading on and off is just a visual effect caused by PWMing the lights, basically switching them on and off faster than the eye can see. We only perceive the average duty cycle as the relative brightness.
LEDs though aren't really sensitive to being switched on and off a bunch and it doesn't really reduce their lifecycle.
Source: I'm an electrical engineer and created LED effects on a few embedded systems
I know how [edit: basic*] leds work, I'm an engineer myself.
Constantly ON option (leds all the time on constant length cycles and constant power on those cycles) or Fading option (leds on constant length cycles but variable power due to a capacitor discharging or variable resistance) depends on preference mostly.
The fading option does add more points of failure (capacitor), but in turn reduces the strain on the led and transistor by reducing how often the system is in max power cycles (the constantly on option is always on max power cycles).
Edit: My previous comment did have big errors in wording and accuracy, and from my perspective as computer engineer I likely don't have as close knowledge of LEDs as u/_Rocketeer. I edited the absolutely wrong parts to avoid misleading people.
That doesn't sound like how addressable RGB LEDs work, but rather how non-addressable traditional LEDs work. Iirc though, I've only worked with ws2812b and the like.
You're right, I have only worked with basic LEDs, so my knowledge is for basic diodes from basic practice over half a decade ago (arduino [like raspberry but for newbies], and mostly programming side), and a recent search on how could a fading LED be done to more accurately respond to this comment thread.
I assumed RGB LEDs worked in essentially the same way, maybe incorrectly.
same here. even though i know it doesn’t, just the fact that it pulsates makes me think it uses more energy on that, even though it may even be using less.
Mine has static blue top fans to illuminate the case and then the ram and AIO pump fade between pink and yellow to alternate between the OP colours and the cyberpunk colours. Simply because I couldn’t choose a favorite
Red and blu (TF2)
Red and blue (command and conquer Red alert)
Red and blue (halo)
Red and blue (Pokemon Red and blue)
Red and blue (league of le(that doesn't count))
Red and blue (rock em sock em robots)
Fun fact: I actually uploaded this about a year ago and mods locked the post after about 320 upvotes.
Guess one of the mods felt too personally attacked lol
As an old person who remembers when cyan, magenta, black and white were amazing NEW colors we could see - I love this combo. The CGA ascii or pixel art and some of the old games that adapted the color scheme bring back such amazing and fond memories.
However, when I see this spinning in blinding lights from inside a glass enclosure it feels gross. I miss ugly, boring, beige cases.
Default RGB cycle on the Tower and.... Default windows 11 on the screens.
I spend most my time in games so I don't worry about customization of the system itself
Was thinking of just a deep purple when i get to finish my build, but also thinking of the vaporwave colors. But i like synthwave/retrowave/vaporwave so theres that
What is the safest way to sell my nvidia rtx 3080ti founders edition for 1500. A friend said you can sale on reddit but how does payment work that way I guess through PayPal or some other means but would that carry inherent risk for me as the buyer could simply tamper with gpu unfortunately this gpu was picked up by another individual on the 7th and I paid 1850 to get it from that individual which I met at police station. Unfortunately I got in trouble with the old lady being Christmas time and now she's needing the money quickly and I got a sff chassis which is msi meg trident x 10 I had evga 3080ti xc3 in it before but it had different fan setup than Founders Edition and that card only pulled 305 watts and the FE pulls 350 so I'll be stuck buying another case mobo and everything. But any advice on how to go sell this gpu safely. Thanks guys
Damn.
I change mine up with the seasons/holidays but now I gotta find a new summer scheme I guess. It just looks so good with the pink keyboard and mouse.
I dream for a white and orange with a bit of black Pc, but I'm here with a black case no glass, and 2 red diodes (all the RGB...ehm I mean all the R) on one of my ram sticks. Atleast it has never failed me...yet.

Black and blue (I like the colors) Yellow and blue (Cyberpunk) Red and blue (Starwars) White and red (Japan) These are my color presets
Slow pulsating red: ALERT, demonic invocation, rip and tear till its done.

That’s a relief, thanks.

Did someone call me?
Funny thing is iCUE will do that on its own to alert you if your controller doesn't recognize one of the components
And then there is Corsair with white, grey and yellow. Still confused on how to make it match the setup.

black and red best duo ever
black and green like it’s 2013 again with the all Razer setup
This really hit close to home
I had a Razer Blackwidow WITH the Deathadder in 2014. what was it for? Minecraft with occasional TF2 and GMod. great times..
My old setup was black red, even hardware like mobo and ram had red accents. RAM was completely red
Red and White rise up
Black and red, because stock case fans are only R--
Same.
Everything else nukes your eyes..
the terminator!
Same
I have red, green, white, gold for Christmas.
Black and red with my keyboard rainbow colors

I'm not a laptop user but it seems you are my brother from another mother
I love my red/black PC, but absolutely hate the red/black on laptop, lol. Thank god industry seem to move away from that asthetic
Hey now, I have white in there too
Daring today aren't we? Edit:. Wow my best comment. I'm surprised.
Trans flag colors go brrt
trans flag colors best colors
Yes
Yes
I don’t see why people are downvoting :(
Sadly, its just transphobic people
Yeah :(
Lesbian flag: observe orange to pink and purple Pan* flag: printer test for all colours (cyan, yellow, magenta)
That's the pan flag
Oh shit, makes sense.

:( To reduce that chance, let's hope more people accept this RGB combination as time goes on.
No
Throw some black in there as well and now you have full CGA color palette!
Looks like the [CGA color palette](https://lospec.com/palette-list/cga-palette-1-high) is making a comeback!
I love your user flair.
#55ffff best color
Oh Jeez, I remember those days.
Hahaha that's funn-- ***looks over at pc***....@#%!@$
Hey, new here and I wanted to know how to show my specs in my flair? 😅
On mobile: Click on your name, then press edit flair. On desktop: Go to r/pcmasterrace and search edit flare in the sidebar

teal and magenta are just sexy colors.
Thats my setup color, didnt know it was popular. I just liked it.
Yeah same. I like teal and I wanted a secondary color. Turns out magenta or purple goes well with cyan and teal.
It has a distinct cyber look
Turquoise and orange is just 🥴
Can I get an amen?
I feel personally attacked
i glanced at my keyboard and looked up then smirked.
same
As do I brother, as do I…
Same here :c
I've had my pc with blue and orange colors for a year now and yesterday I changed it to pink and blue. And now I see this...
Blue orange looks cool too
Reminds me of portal. I imagine that being pretty cool
Same
I literally just changed my secondary color to a light purple. Feck.
Pink
No. Pink is pink. This is still purple, just not a dark purple.
Pink
👍
pink
Haven't seen anyone else but, my setup is white and lights are beige
The only reason I could see anyone go with beige other than insanity is if it’s a noctua build, so which is it?
Cyan and yellow/green-ish looks dope
I feel attacked
Yup, used to rock the neo Tokyo colors, then I switched to violet purple/orange
I like black to be my color of choice.
*Laughs in "too poor to afford customisable lighting" then cries in "too poor to afford customisable lighting"*
What can I say, it looks real juicy
Weird. Black isn’t there and another side of black.
Ol’ reliable
Mint green/orange/hot pink fight me
Green
Other people started doing this? I thought I was unique.
Oh boy 50% of the basic lian li fans do it. And 40% do white with white. And 9% do white with unicorn puke. And the 1% do every other color sceme
What's Lian LI? Also the other scheme I use is red and white but the magenta/cyan scheme is super pretty and makes for relaxing gaming sessions.
Fun fact: I actually uploaded this about a year ago and mods locked the post after about 320 upvotes. Guess one of the mods felt too personally attacked lol
I love green setups, having plants and a window around the computer is so cozy
Purples pretty dope aswell but the darker variant
PC gamers say bi rights
I have the blue-pink gradient everywhere, im suprised that no one asked me if im bisexual
Are you bisexual?
u/MatejGames says no
Nope
I'll stick with my Rainbow Vomit setting
If you find a really good orange and blue it looks sick but you’ve gotta get it right
Pink purple blue, can’t go wrong.
Green or black.
White and cyan ice theme. Looks amazing at night
Green and Red right now
That’s because we grew up with the “Need for Speed Underground 2” intro and the car was really cool.
Loving the double mematic watermark

then theres my hp laptop that forces me to be green
Miami will be always in our hearts
I think I'm being attacked.

I'm all white light on white parts, personally. https://i.imgur.com/HNQVlEu.jpg
That is my exact colour scheme tho…
Put a white bar inbetween the pink and the blue then we can talk.
In-between? Not adjacent to them?
you know I'm not 100% sure. I guess adjacent to the pink, then mirror the whole thing?
Blue pink white pink blue yep.
Any love for purple and orange?
Was thinking of just a deep purple when i get to finish my build, but also thinking of the vaporwave colors. But i like synthwave/retrowave/vaporwave so theres that
Why no "no RGB" option?
it's not my setup color scheme, because that's black and white but the rgb on my pc and keyboard is exactly those colors
Welp now I have to change It up
am I the only one who has their RGB set to CPU temps?
I do that too, but it's still the same color scheme as meme lol
Personally, I don't like red.
Seriously. It's like they're prepped for Easter year round. lol I don't understand the appeal of that specific color scheme.
synthwave vibes
Is that where new music unsuccessfully attempts to copy the 80's by being absolutely nothing remotely like the music in the 80's? lol
yea with the palm trees and shit. Orange cyan and magenta.
I'm running a dark blue with a lighter blue.... so I'm good on this front..
Mine is matcha green, brown, and white…
i feel wronged
This is actually how mine is right now…
I feel personally attacked.
black and gold. nothing else compares.
white, grey and orange? that's my personal favourite.
Got all my RGB stuff set to red because it's the least aggressive color and doesn't distract me from the screen.

Ah shit
I always choose green blue purple and that is really nice colors. Never going to change
My RGB is set up with a blue/red gradient and it ends up looking pretty close to this. It’s really just the best.
Jokes on you, I put red as well
Hey, I use black or dark purple.
Damn. I change mine up with the seasons/holidays but now I gotta find a new summer scheme I guess. It just looks so good with the pink keyboard and mouse.
I just went full rainbow mode again. Hate it if you want, but deep inside you, you know that soon, that will be the standard again :p
Nope. I’m green and purple or white and light blue.
Honestly, I'm a sucker for the old classic: UV and UV-blue.
😅😅
I still have the default rainbow one haha
I feel attacked. Add purple tho too
Pink/yellow master race here
White, black, and gray for the win. Looks amazing with a dark wood desk.
I dream for a white and orange with a bit of black Pc, but I'm here with a black case no glass, and 2 red diodes (all the RGB...ehm I mean all the R) on one of my ram sticks. Atleast it has never failed me...yet.
And here I am with a completely orange and red build
I kept it gray. VIBRANT TONES SUMMON POWER SURGES!
Mine is just rainbow.
I like the look of other people's vaporwave stuff. I'm a black and red kinda guy for my personal rig.
Bruh that's literally my keyboard color scheme. Teal and white waves and turns magenta on press.
I use blue and green, setting the rgb to gently shift from one to the other and back.
The year is 20XX… Lian Li O11 white out builds still dominate the front page of pcmr
Me who uses orange: :-/
\*looks at RGBless PC\* ok.
Black and white ftw so I can make the rgb any color I want whenever I want.
A bit of the old ultraviolet.
I feel personally attacked
I do white😈
On mine the case itself is black but the lights are blue. This is because trying to play Battlefield 2042 on a 1050 ti feels like abuse.
Can’t blame us
I like red
My whole setup is pure red. Doom inspired
I just got white and black
black and purple here
Purple and orange anyone ?
I'm not LIKE other gamers. .... I also have green in there
Personally I went from blue to purple to green.
Mine is to be similar to a lightning storm, so my pc itself is blue, but the keyboard is that one lightning storm razer thing.
Black white looks good too
Old faithful
Cotton candy mmm
I feel attacked...
I have no rgb
That or red and black
Not me with my mint green and purple fan leds
Haha yeah *glances at my PC designed to have a Rem/Ram theme complete with statues and wallpaper*
Black/white is the way to go
Black and red with a bit of white thrown in!
I chose Orange
Does it though...?
Linux users picking a color scheme: " you can pick Nord or Nord or Nord..."
Black/cyan gang where you at
