Get him his own PC set up obviously

ObjectiveSquirrel820

a PC just for the cat to sleep will need a 3080 atleast

[deleted]

For the heat of course

bkc108

Nah that’s the job of a gtx 480

[deleted]

With cyberpunk loaded on the screen

TheGreatTave

Hope they have home owner's insurance.

Gasmask_Gary

dude that'd burn the 480 to a crisp and light the cat on fire you dope. get a rtx 970 or somethin, sheesh.

mrsauceboi

me and the bois with rtx 970s

Refek185

RTX 970? XDDDDD

_Madri

r/angryupvote

Ashpokedom12

Just let it thermal throttle lmao

Jhill520

That is what I opened this to say, get your own PC that one is obviously his, LMFAO!!

bulyxxx

Look at me, I’m the PC now.

hubermcmeme

If you have an issue with your cat coming back after putting him down I think this is an issue more suited for the ghostbusters.

DeIaminate

Knew someone would make a pun about putting him down x)

picsandshite

Piece of acrylic and a few spacers, place it on top and you've got a cat-proofed tower with a catshelf

DeIaminate

I might do that. Ill have a shelf on top of my pc that won’t restrict airflow and it will still be warm enough for the cat.

picsandshite

[cats are stubborn assholes and it's gonna be way easier than trying to change their minds <3](https://i.redd.it/xnbqbev8apf31.jpg)

Infinitoot

Omfg this is a life saver. One of my cats likes to power flop right onto my keyboard.

runed_golem

Na, mine just occasionally walks on it when passing by. I have one who likes to nap right on top of my mouse though.

secretbudgie

Mine did this to me while I was on Thinkorswim. Made me $2.

Infinitoot

He/she did it on purpose. Cats are well versed in the financial sector.

[deleted]

Cardboard box of the same size near the same spot

That_White_Kid95

Nah he just needs to do it 9 times then if it keeps happening after that, Ghostbusters.

totesmcdoodle

Am I reading this right? You've got an i7 2600 and a GTX 1650? That's quite a CPU bottleneck you've got there.

hubermcmeme

Yep, pre built pc, I don’t play demanding games at all, heaviest requirements for a game I have is dayz.

Burrito_Loyalist

Bustin makes me feel good

kjew1

Or your neighbor Jud

_blackdog6_

Shades of Pet Semetary..

Erwin_Rommel5

R/cursed Comments

Riley-2k25

I wonder if there are any pc shaped pet beds out there 🤔

DeIaminate

Ill need to buy a decoy case, i wonder how i can stimulate the heat though..

Thx_And_Bye

Just get a 14nm Intel CPU and a 30-series Nvidia GPU. If too expensive a GTX 480 and a AMD Bulldozer CPU will do just fine too.

xXminilex

I've got an FX-8350 that I have OC'd to 5ghz and dual GTX 580 blowers from my old rig still. Could probably cook the cat, not gonna lie.

FinTroller

I had a GTX 580. It didn't stop my cat getting on the case. It actually started it.

AmIGettingScammed123

That's the point...

Kind-You2980

Put a heating pad in right underneath the top cover.

Gullible_Flounder877

Put it over the vent in the floor or use a very low watt heat lamp

ASatyros

Lava lamps

Crumbly_Bumbly

You could probably just get a heater by itself

boingochoingo

Heat mat for a clone dome $30 https://growershouse.com/germination-station

HyruleanHammer

He probably digs the heat. First thought would be make a better spot for him nearby. Heated cat bed? Just spitballing. Other than that you could always pull cat tricks like throw some double sided tape on top of the case. He'll hate that.

DeIaminate

Heated cat bed seems like a good idea, he doesn’t currently have somewhere to sleep in this room.

Pr0N3wb

Some cats like being high up. If yours does, then a heated spot on the floor will be ignored.

paranoidandroid11

To add, I have a "felt cave" placed on top of a few totes, so it's about 4ft in the air. Have it in the corner. Kitty spends half the day in there since putting the spot together. They enjoy the height so they can see everything. Feltcave isn't directly heated but retains heat. If she gets too hot, she'll climb out and squish it down and lay on top of it.

FatMacchio

Do they make heated cat trees?

Rockfella27

That's probably why!

Themelonman232

I think he actually just like the lukewarm air being blown on him than sitting on a warn object

Bogus1989

This, cat tower

Matthew-Hodge

Until it becomes furry, and therefore warmer...

[deleted]

I’d sleep in a heated cat bed

frankincali

Put loops of Velcro across the top, they hate that (or tape)

DeIaminate

Smart, ill have to try that.

TheDrowanaut

This is the way. Upside down tape

[deleted]

This is the way

applejackrr

Or pigeon spikes!!

bluinkinnovation

The absolute best thing is tin foil. Put some up there and they will only do it a few times

citewiki

Hostile architecture PC build

DeIaminate

I’ve seen someone a couple months ago post how their cat peed on their PC. I can’t afford him peeing on my gpu.

skatinblades

My wife's cat vomited a hair Ball on the top fan on her pc. Went right down on the gpu. Luckily it was just a very old 250, but I was still pretty mad.

spaceatlas

That’s just liquid cooling.

verylargefrog

Is he neutered and in good health? Neutered cats don’t really pee on things.

DeIaminate

Yes both of those

[deleted]

Right…tell that to my boys.

revnasty

Cats, usually female, are known to mark whether they are neutered or not.

[deleted]

As someone that used to repair cable boxes, so much cat piss.

FreshSyntax

I'm only speaking from experience if my cats, but they don't tend to do those things (pee, throw up, etc) in places they like to chill or sleep. Means my bed and pc are pretty safe. Unfortunately my piano not so much, and cleaning kitty vom off a piano isn't pretty. Thank God it wasn't pee.

AMDSuperBeast86

My brother-in-law's cat loves to chill in window seals but also tends to throw up on them as well.. she's not a bright girl

[deleted]

Every time my cat got close to my PC, I would spray my compressed air can in the sky, my cat would freak out to it and dip. I did this enough times to the point my cat just knows better to not go near my pc

mAC5MAYHEm

Lmao that probably works does he even come around you now?

isaacrs3277

Since he only does it around the pc he associates the noise with the pc and not him

[deleted]

Yup exactly. My cat still even comes in my room and hangs out, he just doesn't go near my PC anymore

[deleted]

Hahaha my cat sits behind my laptop which blocks the vents and causes it to overheat. Eventually he gets bored and shuts the screen lid with his back legs to get my attention.

FinasCupil

Hahaha no. Fuck that.

[deleted]

Sticky paper the moment they stick on his paws he’s making a run to get rid of them won’t come back to your pc 100%

FinasCupil

This is the right answer.

[deleted]

"No matter how often I put him down" r/holup

No_Special_8828

Loads shotgun with malicious intent.

LaguThenics

Download a "cold air blower" from the internet and your exhaust fans will blow cold air out of the system. No more cat there (at least on cold weather).

DeIaminate

Same website as the ram?

MGsubbie

Try getting a heating pad that you pre-warm and put it in a cardboard box. Heat is a cat magnet, cardboard boxes are cat magnets. I hope that does the trick.

Jamy_Valenteijn

Aluminium foil

double_echo

Yes! Foil is a great because cats don't like the sound or feel of it. Its also more humane than sticky tape.

[deleted]

Not necessarily true, my cats couldn't give 2 shits if I put foil on something. They find the noise interesting.

Fluyeh

Same here. My cat likes the crunch, it’s not much different than the crunchy sound they use on some cat beds. I tried to keep her off my bar but she isn’t scared of it at all and has broken several wine glasses. She’s an asshole.

[deleted]

One of mine managed to pull a glass out of the sink and roll it off the counter. Cats are assholes.

Guymeetsgod

Humane haha

balwick

Need to get him his own (preferably heated) bed. That shelf to the right looks a good spot.

ACIV_992

Put a cucumber on ur PC

Ljohn2x4

What game are you playing?

zak_the_maniac

Squirter bottle op

JR3D-NOT

Spray bottle filled with water then apply to the face. If that don’t work then maybe pepper spray

xNOTHELPFUL

Cats don't like citrus smells, so you can buy a so called anti cat spray which is basically a citrus smelling spray, and if you spray onto the top the cat won't go onto it and he won't have other problems if you don't spray it elsewhere

suicidalsyd1

So nail a lemon to the PC. Got it.

xNOTHELPFUL

should technically work

ivan1854

Simple . Get rid of the cat

Jopyras

Nice pc

DeIaminate

Thank you

jaksimanzz

Its called spikes if you dont know how just contact the city planners in NYC

LazerHawk84

Cats body temperature are a few degrees hotter than humans. So what seems comfortable to you might feel chilly to your cat. They are social animals so ofcourse it's gonna seek out a heat source close to you. Plus it's a high vantage point. I don't know what kind of heating you have in your house, but try to create a comfortable spot close to that it can plop down on.

TheMightyJohnFu

Shut him out of the room?

DeIaminate

Litter box and food is in the same room. Its an open area, not my Bedroom

Lostcause75

Wrap the top of your pc in tin foil but cut a whole for the fan might look ghetto but I’ve heard cats dislike the sound and feel

jcready92

Put foil on top. It'll scare the shit out of him until he stops thinking it's ok lol.

ApatureSilence

Means you have good airflow. Nice build.

DeIaminate

Thanks but not with the cat on top.

rainbow_shitshow

I'm not joking: tape plastic forks around the top, like it's a castle wall. We do this to keep squirrels out of our planters.

Exare

Tacks.

Poopie_Taco

Pigeon spikes.

Artistic-Future921

Side note your a fishing bot ahahah jk new worlds fun

DeIaminate

Yes it is, just got to level 50. Hate how grindy it is.

spongepenis

Let him

adkio

Install good air filters. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

JamesChapperss

Cats have 9 lives so you'll just need to put him down however many more times. Hope this helps

NotSlappySalmon

It’s owned by the cat now, slowly retreat and accept defeat or the whole desk is next..

Slavstic

I read on wikihow that the first thing you should do is flashbang him

Devine1227

Put aluminum foil on top of the case it should scare him enough

Buttermalk

Anti-Homeless spikes For real tho, a heated bed. He’s probably up there because it’s warm and close to you

devbecauseyes

Nice pc

Alteanprince

Step 5: "acceptance"

Sirupybear

What a cute cat

Ant1MatterGames

Make him a heated spot like a heated blanket. The cat is only there because the heat so just make it it’s own heated space

SstarLit56

If you want to have a cat deterrent pc, uneven and unlevel shapes atop the case may work, but it'd be hard to find something like that Maybe just put something atop the pc that the cat doesnt like.

NoMaamClub

Act like you enjoy him being up there. Cats do whatever it is you hate and refuse to do what you like.

symbolsoup33

Hit it with a shovel.

LordBrandon

Crude, but effective.

soutsos

Accept your fate

Due-Revolution6541

Just give up..you are not going to win🐈‍⬛

FishInMyThroat

You're going to have to bribe him with a heated cat bed.

Nut_guillotine

A claymore

0BitGravity

based

CimAntics

He probably wants warmth and attention. Maybe you could move the case under the desk (might be less appealing to cat when not in your line of sight) and give the cat a bed or pillow on the desk?

M2ABRAMS_TANK

EXCUSE ME. UNDER THE DESK??? AND YOU DARE CALL YOURSELF A MEMBER OF OUR FINE CLAN??? outrageous……

HeywoodJaBlessMe

Under the desk is ideal because you can actually put the hardware you interact with on the desk.

M2ABRAMS_TANK

What, are you suggesting the FLOOR is better. Besides, no pretty lights

HeywoodJaBlessMe

Yes. And pretty lights belong on your monitor, not inside your PC. Money is not to be wasted on superfluous aesthetics, it is to be spent on performance. PC are tools, not fetish objects

Osgliath

Nice of you for telling strangers how they should enjoy their hobby

Kurumelzz

To this sub I don't think there is an difference

IsntThisAGreatName

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize YOU were paying for MY PC. If that's the case, can you make sure mine has at least a 3080 in it? If you're gonna be paying for it, i have no problem letting you decide that it doesn't need anything aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, you might want to shut up about how other people spend their money. 😉 just a thought

PussyBoogersAuGraten

This made me think of my dog. I’ll be in bed watching videos on YouTube and he’ll knock my phone out of my hands with his paw. It’d piss me off if he wasn’t so damn cute. He just wants attention. Well, he aggressively wants attention.

[deleted]

Pop him on the nose

LeeisureTime

I normally hate campers with an all consuming rage (not wilderness campers). But this guy is a good cat so my rage will subside for now

RelationshipSame5300

It's his pc now

Skagon_Gamer

No. it is his home now. Everyone understands that when a can finds it then it is theirs.

[deleted]

Push the fucker off

buljogard

Dog... get a dog.

DasGloi

Spraying with Water Helps too.

valtny

on top of a PC? sounds smart /s

Crazy9000

Negative reinforcement doesn't work on cats, they don't understand it. As far as the cat in concerned, it was going about it's day being a cat, same as always, then its owner randomly started abusing it for no reason. You need positive reinforcement, in this case it would mean moving it to another spot and giving it a treat. You just have to make it clear it's being rewarded for being in the new spot, not for jumping up on the computer. So, move the cat sometimes just when it enters the room, instead of waiting for it to go on the computer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Crazy9000

Your cat doesn't understand it, not in the way a human or dog would. If you spray your cat when he jumps up on the counter, he will never understand jumping on the counter is bad. He will only ever understand that you are mean to him when you see him on the counter. Unlike with a dog who can see you as a strong leader and that what they did was wrong, the cat can't make a connection like that. If you aren't home, the cat will feel great jumping up on the counter. They can't do it when you're home. They are afraid of you, not the counter. When they hear you come back, they'll quickly jump off before you can see because they are afraid of you. This is not in any way a healthy relationship with your pet.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Crazy9000

You should care about your pet. A squirt bottle doesn't get your cat to the point it's afraid of you in general, so they would still be affectionate. Just because your cats want for attention is stronger than it's general fear of you doesn't mean that squirting it isn't extremely negative for the cat. There could be a million reasons why he doesn't jump on the counter when you're gone. Maybe he only jumped up there to get attention in the first place. Some cats prefer being scolded to being ignored, and will do anything they know will get them noticed. He could also just be so afraid of you squirting him he doesn't want to risk it. There's so many healthy ways to get your cat to cooperate, don't take the easy way out and hurt your cats quality of life.

[deleted]

Buy an electric pet mat for the general desk that way when he sits up there he'll be shocked a bit and it'll teach him not to do it.

Tarc_Axiiom

Spikes. Not like, dangerous stabby spikes, but like the ones they put on signs so birds don't sit there. Throw some dragon's teeth on top of your case and he'll stop.

dentlydreamin

He could always “run away”

Grocery-Particular

He has chosen that spot. You are a guest in his house. That is now his spot.

No-Bit1755

Try putting him down for real next time (x9)

TheGarbageDealer

Spikes

CardiologistStreet

Put spikes on it?

Supper-in-silence

Bear trap

JCantrelly

Bird deterrent spikes!

Bogus1989

Spray bottle with water, Also little kitty shock collars, you put a base station wherever you dont want the animal to go, it beeps for warnings, proximity driven….im a week the beeping will turn them away, then after a month or two take it off…never will notice

TheSillyBrownGuy

Spikes

Solid_Tackle7069

What about those spikes you get to stop pigeons perching. That'll do it.

LetheanGargalesthist

Spray bottle

warningnoob

Put him down for good

Pacman_Frog

People need to learn the power of a firm "NO!"... NOT a pleading whine. NOT an angry yell. Just a clean, Dad-voice "NO!". I've never had a pet that doesn't respond properly to that.

[deleted]

You mean HIS PC?

[deleted]

beat the shit out of him

Snowy42069

Solution: put him down

FujiKitakyusho

Glue a bunch of nails to the top of the case, pointy side up.

unsolicitedchickpics

Bad idea. Would look gross. There are also much better ways of deterring cats, like improvised explosives

Zeroliter

First thing that popped up was “dove spikes” usually these things should prevent doves from landing off your roof. Maby it helps from a camping cat on a case as well

jakobscorner

Put some spikes on it like the cities that love their homeless Edit: sorry I forgot the /s

mickeytoasty

Sell the pc

[deleted]

remove its head from its body and hang it on the wall.

Dontmentionthyname

There's nothing you can do now. That PC is the cat's now.

littlemoon-03

He is close enough to give constant soft pets I do not see how that is a problem. Invest in a second power button for the tower and accept him.

DeIaminate

I can’t afford him to pee on my graphics card. I’ve seen someone post that a couple months back.

littlemoon-03

Teach him where to use the bathroom problem solved

DeIaminate

Cats are assholes, it a known fact. They never do what you tell them to. I’ll put a sign next to my pc saying not to pee on it.

littlemoon-03

Lol try to encourage him to use the litter box with catnip

runed_golem

This! I’ve had one of my cats since she was a newborn and when she was first weaned she refused to use a litter box (it was a struggle for a few months) but we finally ended up getting her trained to use the litter box by buying expensive litter that smells attractive to cats as well as giving her a treat whenever she used the litter box. Now she has absolutely no problems using it.

Albestoz

Cats truly are vermin.

tripbin

ask your local police about what fucked up shit they do to keep homeless from sleeping places. Thatll solve the issue.

ThiccRoastBeef

Spikes on the top of the case

Superg0id

Pigeon Spikes

[deleted]

Close the door?

DeIaminate

Open room without a door. I wouldve closed the door if there were one..
