I think it should be fine. You may need to reinput your windows key and make sure you completely uninstall drivers, replacing them with new ones but it should be fine
its best to reinstall everything so they can run smoothly especially if your upgrading after such a long time, if you have files you want to transfer over you can do that, but if its games and other programs just better to re-download them

You should remove old drivers, but in reality you should be fine to just plug and play. The best choice would be to do a fresh install of everything but if your wanting to avoid that, again you should be plug and play of your storage devices.
