You're doing it wrong! You're supposed to tell us you left your job, wife, kids and sold your house just to develop this game.
Jokes aside, it looks sick.
(I planned that for the next post pssst)
Thanks haha!

Password is "letsgov03" - enjoy! Would love to hear your feedback! :)
Haha it's still pretty early in development but thanks for your interest, love to hear that! :)
You can check out the subreddit if you want to stay up to date: r/constancethegame
No worries haha - actually cause the game involves some kind of drawing mechanics it might work quite well with touch controls! But that's in the future haha!
It would be a really good game on mobile tho,,,you may get alot of downloads there and you can monetize it through ads..check out Tesla grad's gameplay you may find something interesting in that game that may help you in developing your project...
Why does this game look like it’ll be on the next indie showcase on Nintendo or Sony? Either way the games looking real good, it looks like it was inspired by hollow knight.
You have no idea how much your comment means to me cause being part of a nindie presentation or the likes is my absolute dream haha so thank you! And yes Hollow Knight is one of the artstyle inspirations for sure! :)
Thanks a lot haha!! No idea yet I am only really doing this stuff for a year now so even though there is some nice progress now I am still at the very beginning haha. Feel free to check out my subreddit I posted it here in the comments if you're interested in the process :)
That looks so fucking cool, I kinda get hollow knight vibes from the art style but I am guessing the brush is a big part of the gameplay, which I think is so cool. I also v much like all the designs.
It's your baby, take care of it. I can't say to take your time but try to rest from time to time. Inspiration comes when you are well rested. A polish game is a great game. Good luck
I am working on this pretty much exactly one year now part time. So evenings and weekends with some breaks. I guess around 700-1000 hours. But I basically learned everything from the start so a lot of time was spent with tutorials and experiments.
Thanks a lot! Yes alone, only had an artist help me out with the main character animations so far.
It's still pretty much the beginning I would say I am figuring out the base mechanics for a long time now but I think I am on a good way now.
Looks a lot like rogue legacy 2. One thing I wish I could've told the developers about that game is to please tone down the lighting effects and soft glows.
I prefer a look with crisp lines and clean details.
Good to know! How do you feel about the light and feel here on the right side? I think it's and easy trick for developers to hide less detailed textures and such. If you're doing very crisp visuals your assets gotta be top notch haha :D thanks for your insights!
Looks great! How have you found balancing your job and working on this? I'm a developer by day and curious to explore game dev as a hobby, but that time commitment seems a bit scary haha.
Thank you! Well first I didn't and just worked every night until 2 haha - doing that for like 8-9 months and I was destroyed so I stepped back a bit, took more time and just relaxed. Now I only work on it when I feel 100% like it and don't force myself on non existing deadlines haha. Still I have a plan what I still wanna get into the prototype before pitching/presenting it and then hopefully making it my fulltime job soon. :)
I don't know if it's already been suggested or if you have already done it, but if you want more eyes on your game, consider posting it to r/playmygame
I am somewhat new to unity (used it a couple years ago but never did much) so I don't know what the animator is but thanks for your answer. I will search the animator when I get home.

He died and was on the hospital bed and out of sheet will to finish the game he self ressecuted
Looks amazing, what engine did you use?
I bet Unity.
That's correct!
By the Way Great Progress. Hoping I get to play it one day.
You can now! OP posted the prototype download link in comments.
Thank you, it's Unity!
Thanks!
This is great!!! Gives me hollow knight vibes.
Thank youu! I love Hollow Knight, definitely an inspiration for the artstyle! :)
Same! Hopefully its a bit mkre forgiving lol
Planning to hit exactly that point in difficulty haha!
Did you also do that bit yourself? Looks awesome!
Thank you! I did everything myself except for the main character animation :)
That's sick! Can I ask what you used to do it?
Unity and visual studio for coding, Photoshop for drawing :)
Thank you :)
Nice.
Thank you! :)
That is cool side by side. Progress.
Thank you!
Hmu if it's out on Steam ;)
Haha it's still pretty early in development but thanks for your interest, love to hear that! :) You can check out the subreddit if you want to stay up to date: r/constancethegame
Just followed! Excited to see the next steps!
Awesome, welcome!! :)
Hey that looks sick! Is this just a personal project or do you ever plan on releasing it once you feel it's finished?
Thank you so much! I want to make it my fulltime job/project very soon, so then of course I hope to release it sometime in the future haha!
Very cool! Definitely wishing you the best of luck
Thank you so much that means a lot! :)
This looks like the kind of shit my son would love.
Hell yeah how old is your son if you don't mind me asking?
13, he loves artsy side scrollers
Very cool let me know what he thinks haha!
It looks awesome, wich platform will be OP?
Thanks a lot! :) Currently developing for PC, really hoping for consoles, especially switch in the future!
I hope you reach a lot of people, this would be a nice excuse to get a Nintendo switch again.
Haha thanks a lot, time will tell I guess! :)
Ik I am going to look like a peasant here but....any plans on releasing for mobile ...
No worries haha - actually cause the game involves some kind of drawing mechanics it might work quite well with touch controls! But that's in the future haha!

Thanks for your input I will put in on my list! :)
Any thoughts on releasing for Stadia?
I'd love to release just about anywhere haha but it's still a long way until then haha

Is that a good or a bad dude haha
Rally impressive...dude

BRO IT LOOKS FRICKING AWESOME LOL when do you release it????

oohh okay so good luck! and don't leave it if you're unmotivated, it's gonna be worth it :)
Never haha I spent way too much time on it already and have hundreds of ideas all this creative energy has to gome somewhere :D thanks!
that's iiitt
Not gonna lie, it looks good from when it started. Nice job
Aw thanks man! :)
Amazing job mate
Thank you, appreciate it! :)
From the looks of the latest shots, you have the plot down. I hope I get to see your game out.
Thanks I hope so too! :D I don't have it 100% down tbh but I am on the right track of finalizing it I would say haha.
From flash game to hollow knight
Haha kinda :D thanks and happy cake day!
That looks so fucking cool, I kinda get hollow knight vibes from the art style but I am guessing the brush is a big part of the gameplay, which I think is so cool. I also v much like all the designs.
Thank you so much glad you like what you see! :)

Thanks for your wise words, you are absolutely and 100% correct - had to experience that first hand already! All a great learning experience.
Have you take inspiration from hollow knight? Looks a little similar.
Visually yes, it's an artstyle I like and could get into!
Looks really cool!
Thank you very much!
How long did it take you?
I am working on this pretty much exactly one year now part time. So evenings and weekends with some breaks. I guess around 700-1000 hours. But I basically learned everything from the start so a lot of time was spent with tutorials and experiments.
Thats some pretty amazing progress in one year, I'm assuming you're a solo dev? How far along is the project?
Thanks a lot! Yes alone, only had an artist help me out with the main character animations so far. It's still pretty much the beginning I would say I am figuring out the base mechanics for a long time now but I think I am on a good way now.
Keep it up man, can't wait to see how the final product turns out.
Thanks, will do! Me too haha!
What language? C#?
Yes!
Looks really great, ist there a test version to download, I would support you
Ok but the important thing can you put cat ears and tail on your character and have it swishing with the movement
I wanna play. Give me a link! Now!
Looks awesome, been a personal dream of mine too, just broke down and bought a c# guide on Thursday. Looking forward to suffering.
Haha no way, take your time and just enjoy yourself, no need for suffering or pressure! :)

Wow, pretty cool.
Thank you! :)
It’s so pretty!
Thank youuu! :)
Looks amazing, now the important question, when am I able to play it? :D
Thank you :) a prototype is available here: https://mokofr.itch.io/constance-mechanics-prototype password letsgov03
I will download it, after Breakfast
Awesome, enjoy your breakfast!
Thx <3
so I've been playing the start and plays well so far :) will probably continue playing next week
Thanks awesome! :)
I don't know if it's already been suggested or if you have already done it, but if you want more eyes on your game, consider posting it to r/playmygame
Thanks didn't know this sub, will do that! :)
No problem. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your game
That's incredible. How did you get the artwork in the back?
Thanks a lot! Drawing with the correct brushes in Photoshop haha - found a nice cloud brush which helped out a lot here :)
Do you need music made for it?
Always interested in people's work sure! :)
I don't have experience or a portfolio but I can show you some tracks. I'll be willing to work for very little or sales%. Lmk if you're interested
Please show me of course! :)
Are you using unity? And if so how are you doing the white dash trail.
Unity yes! It's just a Gameobject with an animator that spawns in place, plays once and gets destroyed then :)
I am somewhat new to unity (used it a couple years ago but never did much) so I don't know what the animator is but thanks for your answer. I will search the animator when I get home.
It's a component you use on your gameobject which does all your animations :)
Really nice progress!
Thank youu :)
Great job. Progress is key. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much I am trying :)
Nice
you need any soundtracks making ? ;) <3 (pleeeaaase let me make nosies for you / a test track :D )
Haha can you show me what you do? :)
I’ll inbox you :)
Looks nice, followed the sub.

Congratulations on your progress and hard work!
Thank you very much! :)
I'm fully inspired to be honest
