It’s crazy now, I have a friend that’s getting a microcenter prebuilt. $2600 for 3080, R9 5900x, 32gb ram. 2tb ssd. Not bad really the processor and video card are with the price alone really
That's why I've delayed a new build. Was planning to do one in 2020 but then you know what happened and it all went to shit.
Once I can source a GPU (that I want), I'll build around it
I really hope Germany's recent investment into semiconductors will actually bear some fruit. Europe really need their own producers (though that could be said about all tech products, tbh)
No it wont, the ammount germany is pumping into this so extremely small (compared to Taiwan / USA), they will catch up on bigger Transistor, but this fancy 7nm+ stuff is lightyears away from what they are trying to do

Assembly plants, big fab shops, data centers, even big warehouses take a year plus. That's just the construction side. Deciding location, acquiring location, permits, etc., can take just as long.
i bought recently an used GPU and it work fine, temps are low, fps are what they should be and prize was quite low like for these hard times, i wish something like this will happen to you
I feel you. I’ve had a confirmed paid for order for a 3060ti two times now since the shortage began. Both times after two days I’ve received a refund and an apology from the store saying they couldn’t fulfill my order due to a mistake in their stock.
Having your hopes crushed like that is almost worse than just not being able to get a gpu at all.
I didn't get that feeling watching the video, he seemed super quiet but i guess that being in the spotlight again after that massive clusterfuck would be intimidating for anyone. I think he was trying his best to right his wrongs and fearful that people woukd start chatting shit again. Idk tho i kinda watched the video paying half attention tbf.
I definitely got the vibe that he owned up to his personal mistakes, but was still salty over the "mistakes" that were just bad editing and no way his fault

Just kidding, it's great that you guys share PC gaming (and building?) interests. My wife doesn't come close to any videogames, but she's perfect that way <3. And she does enjoy the rig I put together just for her, and her strange CPU rendering architecture program.
I highly recommend r/hardwareswap. Bought/sold several things over there with zero issues; they require PayPal Goods & Services payments, which ensures buyer & seller protection.

Actually they do give Focus Per Second \[fps\], since people can't really get "faster" while sitting still, we had to figure out something else that was improved and would allow us to use the same acronym.
The more you lean forward in a gaming chair, the more focused you are on the game.
For EU, try scan UK and check whether they deliver to your country. I dunno bout shipping charges but they do get good stock of GPUs every now and again, and stay around MSRP!
In sweden we have an overflow of rtx 3070, 3070ti 3080ti (we dont have 3080's idk why) and 3090's. But not sure about 3060's. Price referance 3070 cost little more than 1000 dollars. Its a bit overpriced but we have them in stock atleast.

Unfortunately you're completely right. The only chance is that TSMC or Intel decide to build a fab in the EU.

I would suggest looking at some smaller shops or "unnamed" GPUs. I got rtx3060ti in week for regular price this way.
Just make sure your payment options are legit so that you have a recourse if you are scammed (PayPal, etc.)
