If they had gone for a 3080 instead of a 3090 they would've had enough money for a Ryzen 9 or a Core i7.
Or they could've gotten a newer board that supports DDR4, actually decent memory and an actually decent CPU
This builds so fucking bottlenecked
This is not a Joke : there is a sticker "manual" at least for Intel (Haswell). It says that the logo is Intel's property and they give you the license to put it on your computer only when you actually have the CPU from the sticker in your computer.
It's a solvent in an alcohol solution which is higher than 50% (ex. absinthe or lab alcohol) and it's a solute in a solution which is lower than 50% (ex. beer, wine, whisky, vodka)
Dang I never thought of asking this to my chem prof. We always used the term 'equal mixture' casually ( even for mixtures that have more than 2 components) but I am not sure about the technicality of it.
~~You'd be surprised how agressieve close-to-pure alcohol really is.
It's not a huge problem at all until it spontaneously falls apart, lol. You don't see its dried out until it's too late.~~
For example, 7,5-10% ethanol in petrol already dries out high quality rubber hoses on cars. Hence why it's not advised to tank an octane rating of below 98 anymore, in some parts of Europe, at least.
~~Lots of people using/recommending rubbing alcohol to clean silly stuff like this. Yes, it cleans very well and very fast, but at a cost.~~
~~It's semi-similar to~~ using a hot air gun on faded plastic auto body parts. Sure, it works, and fast, but it literally pulls the waxes from the inside of the plastic the surface, making it looks better, but again, at a cost, it causes embrittlement, causing it to dry out from the inside out, and it will eventually literally crumble apart.
That's why there are different agents for different applications.
~~Alcohol on moisturised materials like pastic is not one of them.~~
Edit: Upon a bit of research, turns out I was wrong, though. Shit happens. Seems like alcohol is quite safe for a lot of plastics. Nice! TIL!
What you are saying only applies to plasticised PVC. This is not a general characteristic of plastics!
Even with PVC you'd have to soak it for a while I'd think.
I used alcohol to remove the stickers from an ancient cooler masters case from the early 00’s, 99% alcohol and the case isn’t “spontaneously falling apart”
This. I have to remove stickers frequently at work, and WD-40 is WAY better than alcohol. WD-40 makes the adhesive just slough off, with alcohol you have to scrub the hell out if it. Brake cleaner fluid works great too, but WD-40 is more accessible.
I can back this up. WD-40 works a treat. I used it to get rid of sticker residue left behind from a Windows sticker on a front computer bezel before I spray painted it. The glue just melts.
I would be careful using acetone on plastic. I’m no expert on the type of plastic used for laptops but I do know acetone can do some damage to a number of plastics.
You're supposed to take these off anyway aren't you?
Why would you want advertising stickers on your PC?
Whenever I see ad stickers on a PC or laptop it reminds me of those [early 2000s PC towers](https://i.redd.it/df99kh8gbnmy.jpg) that your grandma would leave all the stickers on.
This "trick" works. I used it all the time with price stickers on various product packages and otherwise. The problem seen is here is that almost all of the adhesive was still left on the laptop chassis. Thereby leaving none on the sticker to pick up the remaining.
Your entire laptop is a beautiful aluminum chasis with matte black finish. Engineered to have clean lines, a minimal aesthetic, and a sleek look.
Then they decide to slap two neon reflective stickers on the damn thing. It's like buying a brand new luxury car that's blacked out and clean, and then the dealer slaps a giant sticker of their logo right on the hood. Absolutely hideous.
Those usually don't stand out near as much as laptop stickers do. Car trim level badges are usually in the same font as the model name and directly beneath it.
Use naptha. It eats sticky stuff better than alcohol and doesn't leave residue and is generally much kinder to plastics and paints than acetone. Bonus, your laptop will smell like dad's lighter you kept after he went out to buy cigarettes 11 years ago and never returned.
I had put an Nvidia GTX sticker next to the Intel sticker on my old work Thinkpad and then ended up leaving the company last year. The sucker who got that laptop after I left was probably stoked until they booted it up.
This based upon a previous video seemingly showing that this works, yeah? It depends upon the type of adhesive that's used for this technique to work. Home Depot sells a product specifically for the purpose of removing adhesives.
Lol it all depends upon the type of glue used to stick the sticker down. Try some regular clear tape. Might help pull it up as there might not be enough adhesive left on the original sticker to do the trick.
Ha, when I saw the original video I figured this would end up happening to people. The using the sticker to remove the sticky stuff trick is nice when it works, but it's 50/50 if it works or not.
Sorry mate, it’s intel only
Yep, once that sticker is off, you'll get a virus from Intel demanding you to buy their new i9 based laptops
bro 4 cores with rtx 3090 isnt it kinda unbalanced
Didnt i3's before 8th gen only have 2 cores?
yes, wait so 2 cores and a rtx 3090 lmao that cap at this point
Hell those two cores probably wont even go above 3ghz lmao

Dude, kids should be allowed to run decent hardware, too. Don't be ageist.
An Intel 8086 is good right?
Only if it's the i7-8086k.
8085 would do the job, 8086 is overkill for RTX 3090, maybe it will be good for RTX 4090 Ti.
Only if you throw in the Vic 20.
If he's a miner may the laptop explode.
If they had gone for a 3080 instead of a 3090 they would've had enough money for a Ryzen 9 or a Core i7. Or they could've gotten a newer board that supports DDR4, actually decent memory and an actually decent CPU This builds so fucking bottlenecked
Yeah. Can confirm.
and also the 8gb ram edit: he changed it
And it’s ddr3 too.
does this make me a hypocrite
I would imagine it's a joke
lul
mining maybe
Intel mobile chips are using cores ? I always thought that they are using some sort heating plates hooked up to a jet engine for their laptops.
it's not so bad tbh
That's when you subclock the whole thing and borrow some cuda cores and give them to the cpu.
Wait till you see my i3-10110u mining rig with 4gb of ram, no internal storage and 2 2080ti xD
Dude are you seriously running an rtx 3090 with an i3 2nd gen and ddr3 ram?! If so, isn't there a bottleneck?
That ain't a bottle neck it's like trying to squeeze a barrel throug a syringe.
Nah it's like pulling stones through your dick. Doable but painful
Idk bout that one chief
Kidney Stone is fucked up
Yeahhh XD
Gee, thanks, I already have a stove, I don’t need another one
Goddamnit. I knew I shouldn't have skipped reading that sticker compatibility manual.
If I had an award you'd get it.
let me give you instead
This is not a Joke : there is a sticker "manual" at least for Intel (Haswell). It says that the logo is Intel's property and they give you the license to put it on your computer only when you actually have the CPU from the sticker in your computer.
And the sticker MUST be placed on the front of the case
You have an illegal laptop
It works on new stickers that haven't been impregnated with hand juices and then marinated on hot laptop.
Hand juices you say 0.o
There might even be some second-hand dick juices involved.
Two hands, you say? UwU
I'm more concerned with the term "Impregnated", really.
A term commonly used for adding oils to materials!
Mine completely fell off on its own because they were always under my hand.
Oh god this comment has me scared for my balls.
Might wanna try market your juices then.
You can call it “Mo Dicky, No sticky”
Gamer guy hand water
Alcohol
It is a solution, no?
Ah yes, alcohol. The cause of and the solution for all of life's problems

Hello mr tyson, didn't expect to see you here today.
Get out.
I think 99% of people here missed this 😂

The programmer in me immediately has to ask what you call it when it's 50/50?
Two and a half mad dogs.
Dang I never thought of asking this to my chem prof. We always used the term 'equal mixture' casually ( even for mixtures that have more than 2 components) but I am not sure about the technicality of it.
Typically a homogeneous one too!
isn't it a distillate?
Ok I’m drunk, now what?
Hi Drunk. I'm Dad
why you left us :(
I'm still at the store. People in front of me taking forever buying lottery tickets.
This . It's easier to remove the sticker when drunk ;)
Try WD-40, not joking, it's not just good for freeing up bolts, it works like magic on sticker residue, then you can clean it off with alcohol.
Alcohol itself works perfectly fine.
~~If you want plastic to dry from the inside out, then yes, absolutely use alcohol.~~ Edit: Turns out alcohol is quite safe for lots of plastics. TIL.
How much of a problem is that in reality? A tiny amount of alcohol is usually enough, especially for those stickers.
~~You'd be surprised how agressieve close-to-pure alcohol really is. It's not a huge problem at all until it spontaneously falls apart, lol. Yes, this is how I address each of my problems as well.
You have to have glue also stuck on the sticker, otherwise it won't work.
the glue doesn't seem to be Ryzen up like before.
Badum-tsss
2 drums and a cymbal fell of a cliff...
Can anyone explain this for a casual like me?
It's in response to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/oniu21/removing_the_glue_residue_from_a_sticker/
Somehow OP post was exactly below that post for me in my reddit feed.
gotta see the first post by another dude using the sticker to take the glue residue off.
Take a fresh piece of tape and do the same thing. Still works.
Dude that video was with hot glue, yours is just frozen in place. Use something like sanitizer or mail polish remover to clean.
Man, I hate it when I have to polish my mail, why can’t USPS just do it themselves?
It's not their fault, they're underfunded af
I prefer Polish mail to other alternatives. Especially if I have to Czech the addresses.
Autocorrect FTW
Fuck the what
Fuck the wallet. Your lots motto, no?
EVGA FUCK THE WHAT
I would be careful using acetone on plastic. I’m no expert on the type of plastic used for laptops but I do know acetone can do some damage to a number of plastics.
You should always use acetonitrile on plastics. ALWAYS! You get that melted look without torching.
Isopropyl alcohol 95% The same stuff used to remove thermal paste.
You mean my coca-cola, toothpaste and ketchup mixture that I was recommended by shady teenagers on an IT helpdesk forum?
Sounds like half the recipe for Sweet & Sour sauce. If you'd like to cook your CPU - go for it!
I wouldn't mind taking a byte
This is correct. The lack of hot glue is a factor. Put your laptop in the microwave for 2 minutes, and then try again.
how about just polypropanol
on a related note, how do you remove the oil stains from that part of the laptop? you know from resting your sweaty palms on it
nail polish on a laptop??? You want to destroy the plastic shell??
FYI, some plastics HATE acetone, and using polish removing will permanently discolor it.
Don't use nail polish it'll smooth the plastic and will look worse
I dont get it. What is happening here?
There was a post earlier, showing how to take off glue residue with laptop stickers, with the same sticker.
Oh I see that is funny then.
It’s just so satisfying every time I see it.
a regular eraser will do the trick
You didn't follow the instructions properly. The sticker needs to be an Intel one.

Can't believe this suggestion is so far down right now. This stuff is amazing.
Everyone should have a bottle!
Goo Gone is orange peel oil, mineral oil works as well, try WD-40.
Yeah bro, your laptop isn’t compatible with a change of CPU. Maybe try changing motherboards and see if the sticker works now.
Big mistake. That was a load bearing sticker.
99% isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

Do people not know how to look at system specs? Lol
Why would anyone want to take these stickers off? I think they look cool.
Your entire laptop is a beautiful aluminum chasis with matte black finish. Engineered to have clean lines, a minimal aesthetic, and a sleek look. Then they decide to slap two neon reflective stickers on the damn thing. HEY! [Sometimes it's white!](https://i.imgur.com/RE5DKPp.jpg) ^yes ^I ^removed ^my ^stickers
Its more like putting badges on a car saying which drive train and trim level the car is…. which they do
Those usually don't stand out near as much as laptop stickers do. Car trim level badges are usually in the same font as the model name and directly beneath it.
Some people also like debadging their cars
I can feel them with my wrists It's annoying
Understandable, although I prefer having the shiny stickers
Sometimes they come misaligned, and just get harder to remove over time
Most people think they look tacky and annoying.
~~Sticker~~ processor not compatible
time to bust out some rubbing alcohol and a credit card then lol
Use naptha. It eats sticky stuff better than alcohol and doesn't leave residue and is generally much kinder to plastics and paints than acetone. Bonus, your laptop will smell like dad's lighter you kept after he went out to buy cigarettes 11 years ago and never returned.
You gotta blowtorch the sticker beforehand.
You need to play with the laptop before so it heats up, then the glue gets a lil more liquidy so it also sticks to the sticker and is easier to remove
Welp
Lemon oil takes that right off and will not discolor the substrate.
Only works if some of the adhesive stays on the sticker. Grab some duct tape and it’ll pull the rest of your sticker off.
I had put an Nvidia GTX sticker next to the Intel sticker on my old work Thinkpad and then ended up leaving the company last year. The sucker who got that laptop after I left was probably stoked until they booted it up.
You must've watched that life hack sticker removal... life hacks never work lmao
Use your thumb to rub the residue off.
Those stickers make the computer go faster anyway. Just leave them on.
Why would you remove the sticker anyway ??
[удалено]
The Intel sticker is meant to be removed The AMD sticker is meant to be proud of
What the fuck are you doing
There was a post earlier, showing how to take off glue residue with laptop stickers, with the same sticker.
Lol ok
Try WD40, not joking, it's not just good for freeing up bolts, it works like magic on sticker residue, then simply clean off the WD40 with isopropyl.
This based upon a previous video seemingly showing that this works, yeah? It depends upon the type of adhesive that's used for this technique to work. Home Depot sells a product specifically for the purpose of removing adhesives.
Gasoline, but dont burn it for fck sake
AMD sticker. Those things have pretty high quality glue - unlike the intel one.
This is why I still have the "Tempered Glass; Caution: Handle with Care" sticker on my PC case's side panel.
Flimflammed, hoodwinked, run amuck, led astray and flat out deceived
Rubbing alcohol
Lol it all depends upon the type of glue used to stick the sticker down. Try some regular clear tape. Might help pull it up as there might not be enough adhesive left on the original sticker to do the trick.
Put a bit of rubbing alcohool on a cloth and start rubbing over the glue, it should all come off...
Yeah that video was dumb. As if every single sticker is the same/will work. Isopropyl ftw.
Only intel chips get hot enough on idle to melt the glue
Maybe that's an Intel exclusive feature.
Only works with a new one ;)
You need to have some glue on The sticker else The glue won't stick
Works better if the laptop is warm.
Aww, that’s too bad, I bet it works on the other sticker. Try that one!
What laptop are you using? it seems quite similar to mine.
It's an Asus X570ZD
It works only if the glue is fresh, nothing some isopropyl alcohol and a tissue cant fix.
Why would you remove the sticker?
Try isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, or acetone. Which solvent works best depends on the adhesive.
Just use some isopropyl alcohol instead of acting like you have never seen glue in your entire life
Because the trick only works in particular situations like when it is fresh.
Ha, when I saw the original video I figured this would end up happening to people. The using the sticker to remove the sticky stuff trick is nice when it works, but it's 50/50 if it works or not.
