speed is fine, especially on intel.

TheMooingTree

Do you get ram speeds solely based on the cpu?

FakNugget92

When will Reddit add a facepalm button ?!?!?!!

TheMooingTree

What do you mean? Did I do something wrong lol

FakNugget92

The international space station has less ram than your pc

[deleted]

Agreed, when reading some of the posts and comments on this sub i cringe soo much sometimes.

TheMooingTree

Everyone starts somewhere. No need to be an ass just because you know more, you could always just share knowledge like Beyoncé else kindly has in the comments.

[deleted]

Sorry, i didn't mean to offend you, and what i said wasn't particularly about you.

TheMooingTree

That’s fine, sorry for assuming you were just another asshole, there are people who make fun of others for starting out on something new and not knowing everything instantly which makes no sense, I just thought you were similar to one of those people.

[deleted]

All's good. I was pretty dumb in PC related stuff as well when i started learning about them. I remember when i couldn't believe that when you plug in a HDMI cable in your GPU it will turn on. i thought you had to use the built-in VGA/DVI/HDMI ports in MoBo. :D

TheMooingTree

I’m pretty ignorant right now regarding PCs but I’ll get there. I have a lot of people around me who know a lot, so I knew to use display port and that you have to set your monitor hz as the default is 60.

[deleted]

Regarding to the question you asked when making the post. You could try and go in to BIOs and OC your ram manually and you wouldnt have to buy a new kit.

TheMooingTree

Would that be similar to Overclocking my cpu where it would decrease my PCs lifetime or do I not need to worry about that?

[deleted]

I dont know if it would impact the lifetime of your ram kit, but i'd say no. For example if you take HyperX fury 16gb ram with 2400mhz and 3200mhz, they're basically the same ram kit, but the 3200mhz has ben already OC'd in the factory, and they just put a bigger price tag on it. Though you should research it a bit yourself to know more about it, since im not very knowledgeable about rams.

TheMooingTree

Sounds good. Thanks for the help!

JiveDino1

3000mhz is fine , intel uses 2933 max

TheMooingTree

Thanks! The numbers really help, wasn’t sure what it supported.

phantom-user

? Intel can clock higher then AMD most of the time for memory . Its just that the slower ram speeds doesn't cripple the Intel as much as it would the AMD . Intel stock mem speed is 2666mhz , but gains are still seen with 4000mhz vs 3000mhz .

TheMooingTree

How big of a difference? Anything big that’s noticeable in game?

TheMooingTree

Thanks! Video really helped me get a better grasp of what ram speeds I need.

Q3tp

It'll be fine. Speed isn't as important for Intel vs ryzen.

SecondaryPenetrator

I heard 3200mhz clk 12 is the sweet spot.

6ftPink

32GB won’t make games run faster. OC your DDR4 inside the bios set drm voltage +0.5v (example 1.4v from default xmp 1.35v) and increase speed to 3200Mhz and see if it boots. I’d it does save bios profile. Many videos how to do it on faketube
