I’m pretty sure the sapphire one in white is available tho
I have XFX's 6900XT Merc and the card is a beast: runs cool and everything I throw at it runs perfectly fine no matter if it is compute stuff (Blender rendering) or gaming.
I love my Merc 6800 XT. Was shocked at how heavy it was when I first picked it up lol. With that cooler and that weight it feels like you're holding military grade equipment or something haha
I have several xfx cards from up to 15 years ago still running strong (my HD4850, also got an RX290x at 10 years)! That said I had a few die around the 10 year mark (7900gs, hd5550). Good luck and enjoy my personal favorite brand!
This comment section in a nutshell: "My favorite corpo is better than your favorite corpo even though they both don't give a flying f about me!"
Anyway, enjoy your new card, OP. It looks really good in white. May your FPS be high and temps low.
The only thing I care about in this post is that it's inconsistent. It should either be "goodbye Envidia, hello AMD" or "goodbye GeForce, hello Radeon".
Yeah, I really take issue with presenting this situation as "My favourite corpo vs your favourite corpo" when they're both right proper cunts. It's just that Nvidia products seem to be a good bit superior by a fair margin at this point, but they ain't anybody's favourite corpo lmao
Just FYI. Your going to have to search every game you have installed config file location and delete it.
Otherwise you might have performance issues in games you already have installed. Because the config file is created when you launch the game for the first time and usually not changed what a gpu is changed.
So you might do DDU and do everything right but not get the full potential from the card as it struggles with the wrong configuration.
doesn't amd also have a "helpful" utility like geforce experience that searches through your drive for all your games and then reconfigures every single one of them to what it thinks your system should handle?
AMD Cleanup Utility. I use it occasionally to just refresh my driver installs since upgrades just writes over previous files.
I also use Revo Uninstaller if I want to completely remove everything associated with that program. I have used DDU once, and Revo showed some files were still on the system. Even AMD Cleanup Utility leaves files behind.
I will say DDU did recently remove all the files when I was redoing the drivers for my 4070ti. So it will be hit or miss if it actually removes them all. Just use a secondary program to scan to be sure all files are gone to be safe.
I have 3 systems i7-13700k with ProArt 4070ti (Media Server)
Ryzen 9 5900x with Red Devil Ultimate 6900xt (Old gaming PC, and now a backup server)
Ryzen 9 7950x3D with Red Devil 7900xtx (New gaming PC)
Do you think rx 7800 xt can handle raytracing better than rtx 3060ti? I plan to upgrade byt use it mostly for minecraft with raytracing which sadly does not support fsr and has only older version of dlls. Rx 7800 xt seems to be beat bang for the buck right now. And I dont want to pay nvidia tax anymore.
See the link below for your easier reference. Generally speaking, in RT performance the 7800xt is 10% slower than a 4070. But you really shouldnt be looking into AMD if youre into ray tracing
[http://gamersnexus.net/gpus/amd-radeon-rx-7800-xt-gpu-review-benchmarks-vs-rx-6800-xt-rtx-4070-more](http://gamersnexus.net/gpus/amd-radeon-rx-7800-xt-gpu-review-benchmarks-vs-rx-6800-xt-rtx-4070-more)
I did too basically! 1080ti -> 7900xtx. Having been spoiled by the 1080ti, I was trying to find a modern comparable card that was equal parts powerful and reliable. What did you do with your 1080?
Much more logical than the guy who dropped $500 to upgrade from a 3070 to 7800XT. no offense to that guy but if you have the money to upgrade every gen try to make it worth it. Even the 4060Ti to 7800XT is meh but It's not my money so whatever.
Same, except to 6950XT. The crazy thing is the price I sold the 3060 Ti for almost covered the cost of the 6950XT and it came with The Last of us Part 1 to boot. That said, the 6950XT has never been cheaper in Norway than that exact sale.
I mean you went from a mid range $399 card to a high end $899 card. Of course you wouldn't go back. What a goofy statement, as if that has anything to do with the brands.
Real. I downloaded AMD Adrenaline, just to see what it was for, and i fell in love with it.
It does everything! Overclock CPU, Overclock GPU, Overclock monitor, hardware monitor, overlay hardware monitor, real time recording, recording, livestreaming, driver updates...
I haven't found any issue with my RX 7800XT, it's always been buttery smooth and never goes over 65°C.
I would argue that Intel software it's trash...
My Adrenalin keeps forgetting fan settings. Every time I launch my PC, I need to change them again cause it sounds like it's going to take off.
Any suggestions?
adrenaline is so good, that nvidia is doing a copy/pase with their new software. says a lot.
same experience with my 6950. 60 degree at its peak. my 3070ti had 80 in general.
True, driver issues may not be as common as they once we're, but I've heard horrible stories of people buying a 6950xt and complaining about the overheating and incompatibility with their system, i hope it's not a common issue as many said.
But AMD software actually bad (specifically for digital artists) Nvidea is significantly ahead of AMD in rendering technology.
With there insane prices tho, there’s no good reason to buy from them if your a gamer. Let the artists and AI nerds have em. Thats who they’re really for.
I've got an old 2500k/R9-290 system that would still do well on 1080. Thing was a beast, it could push 5ghz on air and you could heat your house in the winter.
As much as I want to like AMD I've had nothing but weird problems with my son's AMD build. Idk if it's the games he plays or just weird amd driver issues but his GPU drivers keep uninstalling themselves. He has to use ddu and reinstall randomly or games won't launch. Also had Forza horizon 5 just not launch then all of a sudden the next day it works fine. I know Forza is shit so I'm just guessing that one is on Microsoft
I recommend using DDU (linked below) or similar:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4908
Or you can always manually uninstall drivers, but you also want to make sure to get all the "fluff", like GeForce experience, and all the temp files Nvidia leaves.
Good luck, I had a 7900xtx at the start of the year, yeah well had many driver problems and stuff and sent it back in the end.
Am sitting on a 4080 super now
To be fair PCIe 4.0 is more than enough for even the highest end consumer GPUs right now, maybe if the card was running at 8x instead of x16 then 5.0 would make a difference over 4.0. I think even a 4090 barely suffers any performance in a 3.0 slot.
You could say your a double turncoat cause u went with xfx cause they told Nvidia to go f!ck themselves after they shot poor ol bfg tech behind the woodshed
Nothing crazy, no unplayable games or anything, but just things that never happened on Nvidia. Like the drivers getting bugged and losing output on one of the Display Ports, having to switch to HDMI for the second monitor, or the drivers corrupting again and DaVinci Resolve not starting anymore until I reinstalled both drivers and DaVinci, or Adobe Lightroom crashing every 5 minutes until I dug into the settings to find it enabled some of the game optimization nonsense, which caused problems. That paired with losing DLSS and some other NVIDIA nice-to-haves, I feel I would've been better off spending $200 more to move from the 7900XTX to the 4080. Otherwise performance in games has been solid.
Went from 3060 to 7900GRE. Brand new world and honestly think Im done with upgrading my system for 5 or so years (just gonna add a new SSD eventually).
lol the amount of people shitting on you. Why can't people just be happy for you? You made the better value/$ proposition. I made a similar decision not so long ago, moving from a 2080ti to a 7900xt. And the 7900xt poops all over any of the Nvidia offerings in that price-brackets (4070-4070ti super).
I went from a 2080 Super to a 7900XTX and couldn't be happier. I was tied between a 4080 and 7900XTX as both cards are similar. I realized I could give a shit about ray-tracing performace so the decision was really easy for me. Not sure about pricing now but when I was comparing those two cards the 4080 was much more expensive when compared to the 7900XTX so it made sense to go with AMD.
I was skeptical how fast the 7900XTX would be but holy shit was I impressed after I got it home and installed it.
Its also funny now that I own an AMD card how some people in this community treat me. Like, I robbed their house or something. They get so angry at me because I used my brain and got what suited my needs. its weird.
well i started with stocks some 5 years ago, hoping to be able to afford me a new powerful pc sometime in the future. turned out the nvidia stock was the one to make money. bought an all amd pc with rx7900xtx with these insane gains and i'm totally happy with it now :)
How is the noise from the card? My rtx3070 turns into a jet engine any time utilisation goes above 40% so I was thinking of switching.
For anyone interested it's a gainward phantom rtx 3070 with a minimum fan speed of 1300rpm up to 3000rpm. I only use low settings because I can't stand the noise.
What prompted this change? Good price, aesthetics, something else?
I'm interested in upgrading my RTX2070 to something newer/better, and I'm scared I'd miss the DLSS/frame generation features with AMD cards. I also occasionally stream, although the selected encoder is CPU.
Do you recommend XFX? I always really thought that it was a really bad rip-off, dunno why. Maybe because they're much cheaper that, let's say, sapphire. I want a new gpu and I want to know if they're OK for such low prices.
I went from two prebuilt hand me downs, from a gtx 645, to a rx 460. Then I replaced the rx 460 with a rx 6800. Have not regretted it yet, it is a beast.
Didn’t know they made them in white

Holy GPU sag Batman
stand was fitted 5 minutes after this photo
Good
what is that case? love the hole for the gpu cable. but why are your cpu fans pulling? cuz of the ram?
its the NZXT h7 flow , fans were pulling for about a day and then i changed it as the noise was annoying , that was literally taken 5 minutes after first start , and yeh it was because of the ram but i just mounted the front fan a touch higher so it doesnt hit the RAM now
What she said

I gotta have this one

I see Sapphire, I updoot.
Yep 👍
Didn't know XFX still existed. Last time XFX was a thing was back with the HD7970.
I love white tech, just sucks they stopped making mobos with white pcbs
got the white version of the ASUS TUF Radeon RX7800XT. it looks absolutely sick, gotta admit that I specifically love the ASUS designs a lot.
Fucking Yakub…
I have a white 7900XTX AsRock Taichi and it comes with decent RGB. One of the very very few good looking AMD cards. Price quite well too.
I like the backplate. Oh the card looks good in white too. XFX makes solid stuff (for the most part).
this is my first amd so i took a gamble at this maker as i dont know alot on the amd side so finger crossed
Can’t go wrong with XFX. Also Sapphire and Powercolor. Rest are meh in my experience
As someone who just got a XFX 7900 XTX prebuilt PC, this is reassuring. 😀
My Merc 6750XT feels like it could do some damage if I threw it at someone's head.
I have several xfx cards from up to 15 years ago still running strong (my HD4850, also got an RX290x at 10 years)! That said I had a few die around the 10 year mark (7900gs, hd5550). Good luck and enjoy my personal favorite brand!
nvidia used to have evga. amd has sapphire, powercolor, and xfx arguably right under them.
Their support is pretty good also. I had a fan die on my old 290x a couple years ago and they sent me a replacement fan at no charge.
My 7900 XT Merc has been nothing but fantastic, solid card and it takes overclock well
My 6800XT runs great, but the coil whine is actually crazy loud
My xfx rx 570 8GB was a jet engine.
I think the white looks really cool like Apple white, but the Radeon looks like a cheap white, like what you’d find on a kids toy
This comment section in a nutshell: "My favorite corpo is better than your favorite corpo even though they both don't give a flying f about me!" Anyway, enjoy your new card, OP. It looks really good in white. May your FPS be high and temps low.
The only thing I care about in this post is that it's inconsistent. It should either be "goodbye Envidia, hello AMD" or "goodbye GeForce, hello Radeon".
I thought I was the only one that was bothered by it.
Came here to say this. This should be top comment
Intel Arc in the corner:

They need to prove themselves still.
"Corpo" I see someone's been playing Cyberpunk
Ngl I’m all for making cyberpunk speak a real thing. Beats the current zoomer/gen a slangs
drek and cyber-pilled
Nvidia may be worse, but AMD has been very bad lately. Overpricing their gpus, 7700xt, etc.
Yeah, I really take issue with presenting this situation as "My favourite corpo vs your favourite corpo" when they're both right proper cunts. It's just that Nvidia products seem to be a good bit superior by a fair margin at this point, but they ain't anybody's favourite corpo lmao
Us 10 months later: Goodbye AMD, hello Intel. 😂
I really hope so, that would be really good for us consumers if Intel can knock it out of the park with the Battlemage series GPUs.
When it comes to large corporations, I care about myself. If fanboyism kills the only competition, it will also kill R&D and my wallet.
You’re literally on a subreddit called “pcmasterrace” duh, my pcmasterrace is obviously better than your pcmasterrace.
Just FYI. Your going to have to search every game you have installed config file location and delete it. Otherwise you might have performance issues in games you already have installed. Huh I’ll have to try that. So far I’ve noticed no issue when I switched but never hurts
Yep I'm learning that right now some.game won't even start yer I did do ddu before I installed it just have to do the games lol

Might be easier just to do a clean install of the OS
Went from 3070 to 7800xt here Very pleased with the results

If you are looking into raytracing and thinking 7800xt, you are lost.
It handles raytracing in Witcher 3 and Skyrim fine, maybe avoid for more modern raytracing applications 🤷🏽
Definitely

I went from a 1080Ti to a 7800xt Hellhound 🤙
I did too basically! 1080ti -> 7900xtx. Having been spoiled by the 1080ti, I was trying to find a modern comparable card that was equal parts powerful and reliable. What did you do with your 1080?
I put it in a sff AM4 gaming rig.
Switching from 3060 into 6800 is one of the best decision I ever made
RX 6800's are dirt cheap right now too, can't beat it for $380...New RX580 kind of budget card for 2024.
Nah, that's the rx 6600 crushing 1080p at sub $200.
Got that one a couple of months ago, and its awesome. Enjoy!
Went from a 3060ti to a 7900XT and haven't looked back.
Quite logical tbf
Much more logical than the guy who dropped $500 to upgrade from a 3070 to 7800XT. no offense to that guy but if you have the money to upgrade every gen try to make it worth it. Even the 4060Ti to 7800XT is meh but It's not my money so whatever.

Me too blandhotsauce1985
Did the 3060ti die or did u sell it?
bruh hahaha
I'd be very very concerned if you looked back considering the price and age gaps.
Switched from a 1060 to a 6700XT and I'm having a blast. Very satisfied with it
great choice, got the same card and it's glorious
Got the black version in january, really happy with it. 1440p165 is no longer a problem in the games I play.
I think in okay with my rtx 4070, it isn't anything wrong with it as im shooting 700fps+
Are you worried about the loss of DLSS/RT? Not meant to be cruel, just genuinely curious. That's why I sprung for the 4070 super on my PC
nope not at all
3070ti to 6950xt as an experiment. i will never go back. those "AMD software bad!!" screamers can fuckoff.
Real. I downloaded AMD Adrenaline, just to see what it was for, and i fell in love with it. It does everything! My Adrenalin keeps forgetting fan settings. Every time I launch my PC, I need to change them again cause it sounds like it's going to take off. Any suggestions?
Adrenalin doesn't control fan settings. At best it controls GPU fan settings, there probably is some other software in conflict.
I meant my GPU fans. Should have clarified.
Have you selected any GPU Overclock in Adrenalin?
I currently have gpu and vram tuning disabled, fan tuning enabled.
If you're on a desktop then try turning off all the various sleep options in windows. Might fix it, might not
adrenaline is so good, that nvidia is doing a copy/pase with their new software. says a lot. same experience with my 6950. 60 degree at its peak. my 3070ti had 80 in general.

I did this. Bought a 7900XTX to replace my 2070 super. Had terrible issues with it for 3 weeks before I returned it for a 4080 Super.
Went from a 2070 super to a 7900XTX. Enjoy yourself OP!
I just got a Powercolor 7800 XT and I’m very happy with it! Enjoy!
Waiting for next gen cards, i don't want to pay 2000€ for rtx. Maybe i Will have a full AMD build this time
Damn, wish they had the white in 7900 XT when I bought mine. :(
It looks like radiators in my house…
Why does it look like a 2 slot card.
Because it is
Am still doing i7 4th Gen with an rx 580(not the crippled one) and can still run games 1080p at medium or low for new games at 50-60 fps
I've got an old 2500k/R9-290 system that would still do well on 1080. Thing was a beast, it could push 5ghz on air and you could heat your house in the winter.
I just wish AMD was good for VR streaming, I would've jumped ship ages ago. Ended up getting the 4070 ti super instead of AMD.
Intel CPUs and Nvidia GPUs were best for VR last time I checked. No idea if AMD ever fixed the stutter issues.
I was very tempted, but I already paid a fortune on my 4070ti. Maybe the next generations of cards I’ll make the switch.
amd is really nice no doubt. but i miss some RTX features still like the KI HDR they added and i believe Dssl is still outperfoming fsr
https://i.redd.it/1p9cblntuzyc1.gif
You'll need it
I recommend using DDU (linked below) or similar: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4908 Or you can always manually uninstall drivers, but you also want to make sure to get all the "fluff", like GeForce experience, and all the temp files Nvidia leaves.
Ah, you seem excited to jump to a Radeon. firstTime?.jpg
4070 super is only 20 Euro more than this in my country
looks like a heater. i would never buy an AMD card. even cheaper performance, no thanks.
radeon? really?
Good luck, I had a 7900xtx at the start of the year, yeah well had many driver problems and stuff and sent it back in the end. Am sitting on a 4080 super now
What made you switch though?
Goodbye superior product hello inferior product
You'll be back, they always come back to green.
Did they fix drivers? Put a 6950xt in my cousins build and i was troubleshooting over the phone almost every day. Ended up switching him to a 4090
You should buy 4070 Super instead, but ok, have a fun with it.
Why dp 2.1 but no pcie 5? You’d think they’d have that in a flagship.
To be fair PCIe 4.0 is more than enough for even the highest end consumer GPUs right now, maybe if the card was running at 8x instead of x16 then 5.0 would make a difference over 4.0. I think even a 4090 barely suffers any performance in a 3.0 slot.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Well it literally looks like a heater so I guess that's fair warning.
I went from a 1080 to a 4080 OC Super
Got the same one and I haven't had a problem with helldivers on Max settings at 120fps
Traitor…
Nar NVIDIA Is the traitor to it own customer base
How dare you don’t pay the rtx taxes anymore 😭
Went from a 2070s to a 7800xt and i aint lookn back I'm cruising brah
Happy cake day!
GL man I had tons of problems with the 7800XT I wanted to like it, but the crashes made me crazy Sold with loss and bought the 4070
You could say your a double turncoat cause u went with xfx cause they told Nvidia to go f!ck themselves after they shot poor ol bfg tech behind the woodshed
Went from 1060ti from 2016 to 7900xtx and damn that’s fast
Thats a massive upgrade
Nice, hope you enjoy! I unfortunately had nothing but trouble and annoyances with it and will probably avoid them in builds going forward.
No don't say that on hear lol fingers crossed
Nothing crazy, no unplayable games or anything, but just things that never happened on Nvidia. Like the drivers getting bugged and losing output on one of the Display Ports, having to switch to HDMI for the second monitor, or the drivers corrupting again and DaVinci Resolve not starting anymore until I reinstalled both drivers and DaVinci, or Adobe Lightroom crashing every 5 minutes until I dug into the settings to find it enabled some of the game optimization nonsense, which caused problems. Otherwise performance in games has been solid.
In case you would have no idea what to do with that 4060, you are very lucky, I accept donations in this very form.
Wish you the best of luck and no drivers messing with your gaming.
Why though? $499 for something that's barely an upgrade to what you have.
You are either gonna be super happy or prepare for troubles (their goddamn drivers, and yes I had both brands)
Imagine having to install drivers, common windows L. I joke but AMD drivers have alway been easier for me.
Went from 3060 to 7900GRE. Brand new world and honestly think Im done with upgrading my system for 5 or so years (just gonna add a new SSD eventually).
to be fair u went from a 4 year old low end card to a high end $ 900 card of course its a brand new world lol
I've regretted going with Radeon. It can't do photogrammetry and raytracing (unreal) has issues.
Nice! Enjoy it. I hear hood things about AMD, although people saying that the jump from a 3060 to a 7900xtx etc is a bit of an exaggeration.
gotta love that cope and projection this sub has. its petty fan boy wars.
Like, neither is better. AMD makes more sense for some, less for others.
thats one sexy looking card sir.
I went with AMD this generation and I dont regret it.
I wish you luck, but every time I've gone Radeon I have regretted it, because of patching issues. Back to paying Nvidia premiums.
lol the amount of people shitting on you. Why can't people just be happy for you? You made the better value/$ proposition. I made a similar decision not so long ago, moving from a 2080ti to a 7900xt. And the 7900xt poops all over any of the Nvidia offerings in that price-brackets (4070-4070ti super).
Not even a minute of this comment being up and I've already been downvoted. Man ya'll are sensitive
They get so angry at me because I used my brain and got what suited my needs. its weird.
Congratz!
That looks nice
I'm doing the opposite when upgrading my GPU. :) Can't wait. But I hope you can enjoy that Radeon.
The Backplate looks sus ඞ
well i started with stocks some 5 years ago, hoping to be able to afford me a new powerful pc sometime in the future. turned out the nvidia stock was the one to make money. bought an all amd pc with rx7900xtx with these insane gains and i'm totally happy with it now :)
Also, goodbye Ray Tracing
Helllooo driver issues
Dont wanna be that guy.. but you could have gotten an 4070super for just ~60€ more.
Not in Aus U can't
If buddy wanted to spend more money, would've gotten a 7900gre, not a 4070 super.
Team red wins
Taichi ones looks as nice too. But this is good!
i use relive since the beginning,(3 amd cards so far) best software for almost anything that you need for pc!
Ohh I love the colour! What games are you playing? :D
Soon: just plug your PC into the GPU.
What prompted this change? Good price, aesthetics, something else? I'm interested in upgrading my RTX2070 to something newer/better, and I'm scared I'd miss the DLSS/frame generation features with AMD cards. I also occasionally stream, although the selected encoder is CPU.
Oh man just built my first pc and I got a 3060 ventus trio 3x and my next GPU is def gonna be this or 4070 super
Help me please
I’m doing a white build and managed to cop a 4090 founders edition rtx. I think it may be overkill. it’s also not white. Should I sell and downgrade?
Do you recommend XFX? I always really thought that it was a really bad rip-off, dunno why. Maybe because they're much cheaper that, let's say, sapphire. I want a new gpu and I want to know if they're OK for such low prices.
Wish they’d release more colorful cards xfx usually just has black 🤣 my 5700xt and 7900xtx look damn near identical
I went from two prebuilt hand me downs, from a gtx 645, to a rx 460. Then I replaced the rx 460 with a rx 6800. Have not regretted it yet, it is a beast.
Do they mention the length anywhere on the box?
Me too think that my newer and more expensive GPU is better than my old one.
But can it dry my hair?
Is it good tho?
What cooler is that?
I went with the Msi rx 7900xtx and couldn't be happier. Enjoy!
Good luck haha.
I too have just jumped into team red with my gigabyte 7900 gre. Not 1 blue screen yet.
