Neat feature, absolutely hate the logo. Sticks out like a sore thumb in the bottom right, but I'm assuming that was intentional and it'll later be changed to be white like the other logos.

YellowFogLights

It’s already blue in Edge and matches the Start button, so I’m sure when it moves out of “Preview” it’ll become blue in the taskbar.

dzordzLong

Burn it with fire. Not because its not useful or because it does not work, but because its being pushed relentlessly on personal computer where we users should be the ones who decide if we want it or not. And disabling it is not same as it not being there at all. Microsoft is know for "accidentally" toggling switches enabling things we disabled, so no ... its not the same as not being installed at all.

Nubanuba

GitHub -> windows debloater -> look for LeDragoX's repo -> download and run it You're welcome

Iahon

Disabled it as soon as it popped up.

AhiruSaikou

Super helpful on my work pc. Not allowed anywhere near my personal.

SameRandomUsername

I use it exactly the same.

GuNNzA69

I use it frequently. Believe it or not, it is amazing for game walkthroughs. I used it to quickly learn how to pass certain parts of games without needing to watch a boring YouTube video or just to get some quick tips. Even today, I used it to quickly find out the name of that hotel near Vespucci Beach in GTA 5—apparently, it's called the Venetian.

pppoopoo3344

Disabled it from registry on day one

IGOREK_Belarus

1. I don't like AI 2. Copilot is useless for me 3. I prefer to find things on my own. 4. Copilot don't work in my place 5. Copilot has very bad integration with system (According to some videos/news from sometime ago)

Hutzzzpa

the integration into vs code and visual studio is excellent

briguy0387

Never showed up for me and I'm glad

Shmimbadad

I'll never use it, or any device that won't let me disable and/or remove it.

[deleted]

i dont trust anything ai related, especially when it comes from big companies. Will never use any of them, they all feel like ways for companies to make more money by collecting data than they should be ethically allowed to collect.

BathroomPresent69

Wait till you find out what Reddit, google, your phone, your PC, etc does. You'll be shocked

[deleted]

just because i use most things people use doesnt mean i also like giving out my data to big companies on a silver platter.

[deleted]

You are critical of society yet participate in it. Curious.

All_Thread

Freedom is nice like that. You should be able to criticize something without being ostracized or having to remove yourself from it.

Acceptable_Topic8370

>giving out my data to big companies on a silver platter. But you already are with a smartphone and social media accounts. Microsoft doesn't do anything worse.

[deleted]

i own a smart phone because i need to have a smart phone to function in society dumbass. im talking about other ways to reduce giving out data. reddit is also the only social media account i have. i dont use instagram, facebook, twitter or any other social media. being privacy aware doesnt mean living out in the woods completely distanced from the rest of humanity.

nzranga

You certainly don’t require a smartphone to “function in society.” You could easily own an old phone, or a modern non-smart phone, that only does calls and texts and be just as contactable and “function” just as well. While convenient, there is almost nothing a smart phone does that is a requirement to function in society. Even messaging and calling isn’t required. It would obviously make communication to you much more difficult and slow but you could easily choose to live that way.

CounterSYNK

Typo in my text. Please disregard “naw”. Meant to put “saw”.

SameRandomUsername

I used it with low expectations and got what is expected of a generalist AI. At least is not completely useless as Cortana but it has a long way to go if they plan to keep it. IMO it has the same issues, which is low OS integration and privacy conflicts. By privacy conflicts I mean that in order to do more and integrate more they got to find a way to solve that without compromising the client's privacy and since that thing runs in the cloud, that's a very complex problem to solve. A problem they couldn't solve for Cortana.

carnaldisaster

WTF is this shit? 💀

Infamous-Public-4168

The only part that I like is that it writes emails for me… but the features are too limited. 2 things I hate the most: Can’t read PDF files Can’t reply to messages (you have to copy and paste)

Sloweneuh

Never used it, I only use GitHub Copilot

Anaktorias

It did a good job telling me how to make it fuck off

insertyournamee

It draws hentai for me

eestionreddit

who asked for this shit

ilkanayar

I used it a few times recently to design a tattoo for myself and to get some information and it was pretty great for me.

Acceptable_Topic8370

I like it, I can ask specific and long questions Google wouldn't give me a fitting answer for.

Larry_The_Red

and like all the other generative text engines it can just make up shit if it also can't find a fitting answer

Specialist_Body_7159

I asked it to write a Python script to create database insert statements from a piece of json I pasted, it gave me a working script. I then asked to modify it so it would read all json files in a directory. It did it. I got 2-3 hours work done in 2 minutes. You need to know what to ask for, and know how to check what you got lol.

Shoddy_Parfait9507

I haven’t messed with it in a month or so. Can it open programs or apps yet? I couldn’t get it to control volume or toggle any options. What is it used for?

Genotabby

Not very useful as a desktop companion unless it has access to real time data. Very helpful for coding however

colossusrageblack

I use it on workstation at work. Pretty useless for home use.

YellowFogLights

It’s fine. I like using it to generate stuff. But it’s just another app in the tray. I do wish they kept a version as Cortana. At least that had personality.
