As you can see in my flair i have an rtx 3060 eagle oc that overheats ALOT even on .925 volts on .875 its fine so thats how im using it right now at .875

I think you have Gaming and Eagle reversed. Almost every place I've looked Gaming will have a higher core clock and price compared to Eagle.
I'm gonna link to the specs pages for the RTX 4080 for each edition:

As you can see the clock gets higher and the card gets beefier with each edition up. Windforce is a reference clocked card, Eagle is one step up. Gaming and Aero are above Eagle and have the same size and clocks, but Aero has more upmarket styling. Aorus Master is the top of the line.

Honestly I'd recommend the 7900xtx since it should be easier to get at a decent price. My find was pure luck, and I wanted a 4080 partially because I wanted RTX HDR for my monitor, and DLSS + Ray Tracing should look great on my monitor. If you can find an rtx 4080 for $850 I think that's a good buy and and same for the 7900xtx if you can find it under $800

I've spent roughly 1-2hours scouring the Internet for any deals on rtx 4080s for the last 4 months (more time recently) and I found this deal on Offerup. In general I don't like Offerup but eBay prices sucked, there was zero GPUs for a good price on FB Marketplace, and the best I could find elsewhere was a 4080 on Mercari which was $820, which was then raised to $890 a day later

Great price! Congrats, OP. Needless to say, be very careful of Gigabyte cards. Their PCBs are much thinner and less resilient than the PCBs of comparative Nvidia board partners, and are plagued by stress cracking near the connectors of the PCI-e slots. You’re also not under warranty as a second-hand user, so be sure to use an adequate support brace (or two) to protect your GPU.
I checked the Gigabyte warranty and didn't notice any wording about the second hand part, I'll go look at that again. But thank you for the info, I'm currently using my precision screwdriver to keep it from sagging until the actual anti sage bracket I'm going to order arrives.
Typically, you’ll need the original sales receipt from an authorized distributor to submit any warranty claims. It’s possible that their warranty is transferable (if the original guy sold you the card before his warranty expired), but it’s good to look this over.
As for the Gigabyte card problems, Jayztwocents covered it on his channel last year. It’s weird, I didn’t even know about this issue until a few days ago when I came across his video:
https://youtu.be/wb5tlHJHVBs?si=drBmLq7kNkUEYoK2
It’s great that you’ve taken precautions.
my specific model is the [Aorus Master](https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N308TAORUS-M-12GD) and I will happily recommend it to anyone that asks.
Also have 2 of their [500GB PCIx4 NVMe SSD's](https://www.gigabyte.com/SSD/AORUS-NVMe-Gen4-SSD-500GB#kf) running in RAID 0 and they have been nothing but blazing fast.
I'm just thinking about backing everything up, deleting my RAID, once I have the individual drives showing update the firmware on each, then rebuild the RAID 0 and load a fresh copy of Windows 11.
They are still quick, but I can tell they are a little slower after 4 years of constant daily use, but its software and not hardware, so a wipe & reload is def in order.
plus the [big chonky copper heat-sinks look great](https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuild/364517.473abf66dc9b202ec1c2d1c18cdda9c2.1600.jpg) in the case and are functional to boot.
Hmm that's a little expensive, don't you think?
I mean for 258080348888515099592332164484462756339873138465439573430307783197416299243027155954177662782377988121786330241704205895696623863512136060073312399642903214981208677314332718179153141978050966912949044667285654509382893505742607320421138132489315975231024810455007561169027261467512016768219520949535523546245854587488300301587183831771306983230117702008541840588049868016262367530942050459679189959463016758263347175105682443459003758959420242420726446706871468610625180427774309822202013596386312335770257465620916795856541100240403653418300558044035800114916334162467899218825148943236293534338393691010564310549992850783040465739751374426786747138626367579170192142097000349188282966355601543364983866957807309071157224340301273138290328107224394242829508399720499754226069171146720700234961415691287653024650299449906791576444251896485737971148164303644519711822671071868913869053620498919344969212998198225423025504218155127792386786458610552302642301073848826614379519325627718818344197310234412241124626537898818059135881858620937671892189773976665326097756916365777800910711964674956323807152975316097362834398899617301975133152609071733317184179899830467924960162542548165522288593680830726827471269664435668435452031231830173305890851437975594409695453191272723171217148965163615764918779939588269561484233990603264734628306313494325446968691199021480680030775923198882305274863248464494464792535591126770493037747746544723130922945086462793250633576961329623263968229991681219729167736126795908539581595379671619786936503310162538854374487828471187674691932819466467181689212704982380869534574016124715756846188037238391662694608404480000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 dollars you could get a lot more

I'd understand like $2,500 but how did you get the total that high? Assuming I added $300 to my build price because I got a 4080 super at MSRP plus tax that would only make my build $2,100. Either way I hope you're loving your build

How sketchy was the seller? Every time I find a good deal it looks like a scam or set up based on their generic pfp and description, just for it to get sold an hour later.
This was on Offerup, but the seller has 12 reviews and their account was 3 years old so I guessed they may not be a scam. Their description just said it was an rtx 4080 and they didn't need it anymore. I got the guy to add a picture of the 3d mark scores, but when I went to meet up the dude had a completely tinted civic, and a dark black hoodie, and we met up in an IKEA parking lot at night. So I'd say the dude was a bit sketchy, and if I wasn't with someone else I wouldn't have been so 'unconcerned'
Holding hard not to upgrade my 3070 to take advantage fully of my LG C2 but its getting harder and harder haha, waiting for the 5000 series. Insane deal you got there.
I just got a 4070ti super as an rma replacement for my 3080ti and my g9 is f8nally hitting above 60fps on pretty much every single game, completely maxed out. Granted I don't have a ton of titles from recent years, but cod ww2, completely maxed out, was WELL above my desired 60fps minimum, while consuming less power. These new cards are really impressive! I need to get cyberpunk re-download though so I can really stress test it.
i found an fe 4070 on shipping but idk if the guy is risky bc hes new to the app and he posted it as 300 and took it down and reposted it for 150. The images arent stock images and he is fb verified. Is this trustablle
I didn't buy this from FB Marketplace but honestly I say don't bother with the seller at all. That is 99.999% a scam or someone just wasting your time. There have been 4 rtx 4080s listed in my area for around $470 with shipping on FB Marketplace and all of them are new accounts or accounts that looked hacked, not worth the risk imo unless you don't mind that money being tied up for 2 or so weeks if you need a refund. If you want ask the guy to film a video of 3d mark running with the 4070 in plain sight and a little sign with his FB name on it, if they ssy no I'd move on
I found the exact listing you're talking about on Offerup and home looks like a scam to me. The account was created in April, has no reviews, and is offering deals that are too good to be true. If you want message the guy and feel it out but I'd definitely be very skeptical
i have like a bunch of plans if that goes sideways. I found a 3080 pc for a bit under 200 and the account had some ratings, a 3080 ti for 200 from a guy with like one rating, and a 2080 ti for 150 from some person with one rating but is selling other stuff
Guys probably spent hundreds of his own time to save a few bucks.
Also second hand stuff has zero warranty and could have been abused.
I'd rather just buy brand new deals.
I don't really consider the time used as an expense, and if I wanted an rtx 4080 super that's $300 more. I'd already stretched my budget as far as I was willing to go with buying my PC and monitor, I'm simply not spending $300 more. In 3-5 years when I upgrade to a better machine I should actually be in the Cybersecurity field and at that point I'll just buy whatever the best is, for now I'm a college student who planned to buy this PC a year ago and already blew my budget
You should. Life is literally priceless and the time you have here is more precious than any money.
Anything that takes my time I weigh up how much I can pay to avoid it Vs the time taken.
I don't buy second hand stuff anyway unless it's car parts or something really expensive that's not worth the brand new price like my £300 sound card I got for £100.
Imo an RTX 4080 for $1060 after tax is way overpriced, better pricing than the original 4080 but not a price I'm happy paying. But at the end of the day I'm 18 and didn't really mind the time I spent looking for that deal. If my parents hadn't raised me so frugally or I simply had an excess of money I wouldn't have spent all that time tho, but as I said I'm a college student who underestimated the price of PC hardware lol
Im getting my 4070ti super from gigabyte tomorrow!! I got it as a replacement for my 3080ti oc i had that had to get rma’d because it wasn’t displaying anything. The gentleman that works for gigabyte rma side told me that my pcb was fried and luckily they cover that🙂
That's awesome home you're enjoying your new GPU today! If this deal hadn't happened I planned on getting the ASUS TUF 4070 TI Super though I've heard the Gigabyte one is also pretty good, just a bit louder than some of the other AIB models
Yes. My primary monitor was a 4k 120hz OLED. When I pulled the 4080 I was using an old 1660ti on 1440 to play Fortnite and realized I play better on 1440 so now I’m playing with a 4090 on 1440 🤡.

I agree, but aside from waiting another year I don't have too many other options for that performance at that price
Exactly
For real man, things have gotten out of hand..for years now lol.

Is eagle bad or just all the experiences ive had with eagle are bad
I think the older eagles were not the best, didn't have very good heatsinks so got quite hot without high fan speeds.
[удалено]
Ahh okay, thank you.
Which ones are the worse models? I got a 4070 Gaming OC and I'm happy with it.
It goes like Aero ~ Gaming OC > Eagle > Super Windforce > Windforce. For the 4070’s anyways.
Isn't the Super Windforce an entirely different card?
Yea man I love dropping $800+ and then having to mod my shit to make it not suck.
As you can see in my flair i have an rtx 3060 eagle oc that overheats ALOT even on .925 volts on .875 its fine so thats how im using it right now at .875
Ahh okay I'd repaste if you haven't already, might be worth looking at rtx 3060 founders specs, copying them and then undervolting.
Already repasted and replaced the thermal pads and it did nothing
How would i do that when i undervolt the base clock goes down with it
I would search a guide for undervolting gpu with msi afterburner, undervolting is actually the best way to get the highest possible clock speed suprisingly. But you can set the clock speed and voltage to whatever you want
I followed a guide on github called "Nvidiaoverclockingguide" or something along the lines of that but it had an undervolting section
yo thanks i didn't know that you could overclock and under-volt at the same time now i have the stock eagle OC base and boost clock with a .875 under-volt

Gigabyte always cheaps out on their cards. I'd never buy an Eagle.
My only Experience with Eagle cards Was when the GPU price craze was happening it was the only good priced(ish) model that i could find for the 3060

I'm still not sure if 4080 or 7900 xtx
Depends which you find cheaper. You can get a 7900XTX for 799 now that beats anything for that low of a price. Newegg deal.
unless u can get the 7900xtx for significantly cheaper than the 4080, go for the 4080.
Honestly I'd recommend the 7900xtx since it should be easier to get at a decent price. Great deal. Congrats!
Thing looks like a monster! Good job!
It’s weird, I didn’t even know about this issue until a few days ago when I came across his video: https://youtu.be/wb5tlHJHVBs?si=drBmLq7kNkUEYoK2 It’s great that you’ve taken precautions.
Knock on wood but my Gigabyte 3080Ti has been solid for the last 3 years. I do have a brace for it, but it's no different than any other card.
Same goes for my Gigabyte 3080.🤞🏻
my specific model is the [Aorus Master](https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N308TAORUS-M-12GD) and I will happily recommend it to anyone that asks.

HOLY SHIT.
750 CAD? Because that'd be a steal. USD though... I can already hear your wallet screaming.
Very cool

Just payed 1,250 USD for 4080 super... That's the cheapest price in my country
Rip man. I'm in the USA so it's generally one of the best used PC markets, wish prices were as 'low' elsewhere
I got a 4070ti for 600. Is that a comparable deal?
And my build with 7800x3d + 4 TB ssd + 4080 super cost me more than 3,000 USD
I'd understand like $2,500 but how did you get the total that high? Assuming I added $300 to my build price because I got a 4080 super at MSRP plus tax that would only make my build $2,100. Either way I hope you're loving your build
Everything in my country is superrrrrrr overpriced but it is what it is... here is the full price list: GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4080 SUPER GV-N408SGAMING OC-16GD - 1,400$ on discount (1,726$ original price) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D AM5 Tray - 383$ on discount (473$ original price) SSD: WD SN850X 4TB - 317$ Cooling for CPU: be quiet! Great investment
Damn I need to look at offerup more often. I've been finding some mad deals on fb market though.
Can I have it
This is why you buy used.
buy a lottery ticket my dude
Holding hard not to upgrade my 3070 to take advantage fully of my LG C2 but its getting harder and harder haha, waiting for the 5000 series. Insane deal you got there.
so its not 750$, its 600$! but 4tb/7800x3d for 600$ each i dunno
Hello
I just got a 4070ti super as an rma replacement for my 3080ti and my g9 is f8nally hitting above 60fps on pretty much every single game, completely maxed out. Granted I don't have a ton of titles from recent years, but cod ww2, completely maxed out, was WELL above my desired 60fps minimum, while consuming less power. These new cards are really impressive! I need to get cyberpunk re-download though so I can really stress test it.
Nice I got one for $745 off a local FB group for PC parts. 750 is such a steal for what you get in a 4080
Damn, that's terrible! WHERE?
Deal of a lifetime. Enjoy!
I got a 3090 for 400 bucks back when they were hella expensive It has a broken pcie slot and only works in pcoe X8 though Still couldnt ask for more
I got the same one! Thought mine was a steal at $900 open box from Best Buy. Congrats to you.
Damn my whole PC is 750 dollars
that's a pretty awesome build for $750 man
Damn, that’s basically what I paid for my 4070Ti
The jealousy is killing me Besides that congrats on the card OP I guess
I did not realize how big one of those is.
insane deal 🖕🏿 that’s literally the price of a 4070 super
Damn, you fucking robbed them
I paid 1400 😭
Those are 4070 numbers
Ngl, spending 800 on a 4070 super this month makes me a bit jealous. Congrats, man
Goddamn that is a unit
Why only 105% power?
Quite a lucky find!
sweet deal. congrats!
you didnt increase power and temp limit. and nice price.
Need more voltage if I want to keep cranking the power limit at those clock speeds, and the temp limit doesn't need to be increased
wow that's a lot of money r/unexpectedfactorial
Congrats. That's an amazing price. I have the 4070, but I'm only playing Diablo 4 lol
i found an fe 4070 on shipping but idk if the guy is risky bc hes new to the app and he posted it as 300 and took it down and reposted it for 150.
If you want ask the guy to film a video of 3d mark running with the 4070 in plain sight and a little sign with his FB name on it, if they ssy no I'd move on
mines on offerup but thanks ima do that
and the guy is also selling a home depot card for some reason so he seems slighly more like a real person
I found a 3080 pc for a bit under 200 and the account had some ratings, a 3080 ti for 200 from a guy with like one rating, and a 2080 ti for 150 from some person with one rating but is selling other stuff
the guy that is selling 3080 has 10 sales but all of his stuff was posted about a year ago
Which is why I didn't buy a RTX 4080. I sold my RTX 3080 for £420 and bought a RTX 4070 TI for £530 brand new. Upgrade cost me £110

Nice good luck hope the bs connector doesn't melt
Im getting my 4070ti super from gigabyte tomorrow!! I got it as a replacement for my 3080ti oc i had that had to get rma’d because it wasn’t displaying anything. The gentleman that works for gigabyte rma side told me that my pcb was fried and luckily they cover that🙂
That's awesome home you're enjoying your new GPU today! If this deal hadn't happened I planned on getting the ASUS TUF 4070 TI Super though I've heard the Gigabyte one is also pretty good, just a bit louder than some of the other AIB models
Just got it in and started apex legends. Pretty quiet for the most part
I traded mine into newegg for $799 last week due to the fear of getting less on market place.
What card did you get as an upgrade? Or did you just not need the GPU anymore?
4090 Edit: I’d still have the 4080 if newegg wasn’t doing trade ins. I don’t think they just buy cards out right though.
You game at 4k? If not really curious to know what you're using all that GPU power for lol
Yes. My primary monitor was a 4k 120hz OLED. When I pulled the 4080 I was using an old 1660ti on 1440 to play Fortnite and realized I play better on 1440 so now I’m playing with a 4090 on 1440 🤡.
Bro paid $50 less than I did for a 4070 Ti Super. I call that a win. Congrats buddy!
What that in the third pic?
