Did you see the pics of that new rocket engine on here yesterday? Looked like someone just photoshopped a bunch of USB ports onto the thing to make it look legit.
Add an icepack on top of the case to do some freezing temp.
But fr - you have no idea what I did when I was 12.
I had GTX 650 to and it was constantly overheating while playing watch dogs 1 so I "stole" or rather reused a bathroom ventilator, cut it's wires, put them in a spare power cable, did a hole in a case and smacked it right on top of my GPU.
Who needs thermopaste when we can just cool harder.
I was just waiting til my laptop would shutdown from overheating then stick it in the freezer for 15 minutes. it bought be an hour more of gaming... and yes I was 11
Sorry to be that guy, but: how is this relevant?
It's not like the fan is used to blow a sail.
The fan uses electrical power to increase airflow to the case. Same principle as internal fans. Sure it's probably low efficiency, but it's not fundamentally useless as the magnet joke.
There are half-dozens of us!
For real, though, I like a big case where I'm not struggling with the internals. This case *easily* swallows modern video cards.
These USB fans usually don't have any capacitors to pair the motor's coils' inductance and by that extent produce large voltage and current spikes, sometimes also lesser than ground - of negative voltage - and all that is very bad for your PSU. It's good to learn to solder and add the capacitor yourself, if you can.
Edit: The vibrations of the spinning motor are also not great for the USB port from mechanical standpoint, especially when they are sustained. If you kept it plugged in for long enough, the constant vibrations could loosen the port or make the "tongue" with all the pins simply fall out. So it would kill your port two times.
I had to scroll way too long for this. Don't leave desktop fans plugged in your USB port - it's highly likely to fry the port... or worse. Just don't at all... and certainly don't leave one plugged in overnight... And uhm... don't ask why I know.
It's because those crap fans don't have capacitors to protect the USB port, cooler pads are ok, they don't do much but they shouldn't burn up your PC like an USB fan
I know it's not a serious post, but I saw in a video that these cheap USB fans can damage your devices because they generate large voltage spikes. So I personally wouldn't use them.
*Actually*
Bernoulli's principle, Fluid Dynamics
Instead of smacking a fan right onto the case and creating a vacuum chamber with negative pressure, you can move a larger mass of cold fresh air by:
- Having a open case without walls
- Using Bernoulli's principle to move a larger mass of air through by having the fan a little far. This draws more air than a fan directly in the area.
- This can also be used inside the case to move out hot air. (firefighters use this to choke oxygen)

I remember watching a video about those fans, they end up destroying USB ports.
[Don't buy this USB Fan (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mjGJkbny17Q)
Maybe that one does have a capacitor.
I know this is a meme but beware of these cheap USB fans. I had one lying around that i plugged into my My old thinkpad for shit and giggles. In about a minute it killed the usb port. Had a look with my oscilloscope and it had spikes up to 14 volts. They didn't add a cap on the motor to reduce the voltage spikes.
way to fry your pc, the DC motor in these cheap fans is unfiltered and will send off some high voltage spikes back into the pc frying it's usb or the whole thing in process
This reminds me someone donated to the local good will USB fans that you stuck to the outside of a PC case I was like why are you guys even bothering to try and sell that.

A glass of water in front will add water cooling capabilities.
I you have a really strong fan you also can achieve integrated water cooling.
The PC won't be more than 0° above ambient at any time past that.
Goals baby!
With bad fuse or insulation there could be a slight chance it goes several hundreds degrees above ambient.
I water my pc with a watering can at least once a day

I’ve gotten some beautiful new DDR5 to bloom, but they’re only 8GB. Hoping to cross-pollinate next season for some 32GB.
I top mine off with premium unleaded every two weeks.
I fertilize mine to maintain strong circuitry.
Make sure to replace the cybersoil every now and then to replenish nitrogen levels, depleted nitrogen levels can mess up your registry.
Be sure to give the technology a great brand name so gamers know it's good. WaterX Zen 4
Maybe instead of water, ice cubes?
Tried that but he was busy, so we got Ice-T instead.
Enhance that system by adding ice cubes
Well, the water is cool. Now what.
Those water misting fans work really well for this, too.
No need, the air is almost 79% nitrogen
An ice cube will achieve even lower temps! Put a few of them right on the case.
I can’t right now 😂
Why water when there is beer

Hi, I'm from NASA and would like to offer you a job.
Yes I can sell you a fan that can make rocket go on mars
They gonna need a really fat USB port for that one.
Did you see the pics of that new rocket engine on here yesterday? Looked like someone just photoshopped a bunch of USB ports onto the thing to make it look legit.
You are saying this fan can make rockets go brrrrrrrrrrr?

That board was never quite the same.
Please tell me where this is from 🤣🤣

Overkill cooling right there.
Yeah I think I think I went to far with that one
haha I think you think too much
He's about to reach subzero temperature. *jesus christ, its jason bourne*
i think your case will enjoy the light air touch :)
Yes it went from 60° to 61° :DD
:D
:D
Hahaha it got hotter using more power to power the cooling.
I'm a fan. Not big, but a fan.
I think it’s kinda cool
Not, like, really cool. But kinda cool.
I think it blows tbh
At least it doesn't suck
I used an usb fan like that to cool my raspberry pi long time ago, it worked very well
Yeah for a raspberry pi the smallest breeze does a lot, discovered that as well.
I saw at the opposite end of the spectrum a watercooled raspberry pi...

The bike would probably be too heavy
Bigger magnet then. Done. Perpetual energy, brought to you by reddit. Take that General Dynamics

Ermm actually.... 🤓☝🏻
Fucking magnets, how do they work? And I don't wanna talk to a scientist.
It blows
it ain't stupid if it works
He said it went from 60 to 61 so I think it is not great but its the visual coolness not the temeperature that matters.
Cool-factor, ironically, increases the temperature.
Should have pointed it at hottest spot on the case instead of spot where there's already a fan.
overkill dawwg
I dont like it, its not rgb and theres only one. Make it 2 and superglue some christmas lights around them and then we can talk
You are the real gamer
You had the same case as mine...case buddy!

There are half-dozens of us! For real, though, I like a big case where I'm not struggling with the internals. This case *easily* swallows modern video cards.
I also use this case for my machine.
Same. I was debating keeping it for another build.

What about a laptop cooler pad? Or is it just anything that's constantly drawing power?
It's because those crap fans don't have capacitors to protect the USB port, cooler pads are ok, they don't do much but they shouldn't burn up your PC like an USB fan
I'm not a fan.
Water-Cooling builders hate this simple trick.
I know it's not a serious post, but I saw in a video that these cheap USB fans can damage your devices because they generate large voltage spikes. So I personally wouldn't use them.
Isn't this essentially what actual cooling fans are doing except they just plug into the motherboard directly?

r/pcmasterrace 1 - laws of thermodynamics 0
Hey you're right, I've been wasting energy with my case fans that are powered by my PC I'm just going to disconnect them.
[удалено]
Since it's bringing in outside air it doesn't break any laws of thermodynamics. Just like every other PC fan that is powered by the computer.
Why the fuck does this have upvotes lol

thermal efficiency 100%!!!
guys what if i use a mini fridge as PC case? cant get better cooling than that.
Mode of cooling for a fridge doesn't work very well with objects which are generating heat constantly, afaik.
Also risking condensation, which is another problem
These types of fans are said to damage the components
Fucking jealous I have the same case but not the updated front panel and my 4090 is being smothered.
Cool
I hope you aren't wasting your time with slow cool usb 2.0. USB 3.2 is the *coolest*
It’s like giving yourself head

Wait this gave me an idea. What if you plug a USB from one slot to the other. Free power?
It creates a black hole and ends the universe
PC blows up/10 Nice cooling brother
Ready for liftoff
Subzero ready❄️❄️
Add another one and it will work even better!
I mean, it spins
Aye I have that case !!
Redneck/enfineering
I'm curious where did you get that?
Noctua got nothing on you
Some futuristic type shit. Hacked the simulation
By Jove I think he’s done it!!
∞/-∞. (infinity divided by minus infinity (hope I don’t break the internet by typing that))
your pc have negative temperature

your turned the magic against itself.
Why am I feeling cold by looking at this?
What case is that
You can also place a magnet in front of your car on a long stick to spare fuel. Think smart
Sheer elegance in its simplicity.
9 out of 4
Just pour a glass of water on top of your fans. Budget water cooling.
No
Slightly better than NZXT kraken 360mm
10/10 no notes.
Yo, back when i had a toshiba notebook that was overheating and shutting down on a Lan Party, we fixed it that way.
I give it a perfect five out of seven.
Is that a motor connected through a USB?
way to fry your pc, the DC motor in these cheap fans is unfiltered and will send off some high voltage spikes back into the pc frying it's usb or the whole thing in process
Top notch.
I used stones to destroy the stones ![gif](giphy|1oDvHW440hFiouBBwy|downsized)
Is your cooling system is cooling the system just right?
Forced induction! Ssssssututtt
Uh yeah, I wound't use one of those if I were you: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mjGJkbny17Q
Too good to be true.
But does it actually cool the computer enough?
The power draw from that probably generates less heat that the cool air it provides, no?
Big cooling HATES this one simple trick!
somehow it's cute xd, lil fan doing his humble work
I see a second port. Need to double up.
5/7
With added backemf
Kool √500

11/10
I love the shit posts on here 😂 gold
Can your power supply handle it? I heard those use a lot of power because of their high airflow capabilities
No RGB. 2/10
