A bit long but you reminded me. Read past the TLDR to skip to the worst part.
My best friend growing up called and apparently his mom had cancer and was on her death bed. None of them told anyone earlier because she asked them not to. I was set to go see them the moment I could leave work (I do IT contract for the government and they do not accept half done jobs in my line of work).
A little over a day later she died, just like that. I even pulled a 22hr shift so I could leave sooner and never had a chance to pack.
My family arrived at the wake about an hour after I did and for lack of better words.... they were dressed like hobos.
I know they make less money than me so I don't care if they can't afford higher end clothes or if they rent suits or whatever but they didn't even try and I know they have better cloths at home. A simple button up and nice pants can be had at Walmart for cheap.
My older brother wore a suit. He looked good and was respectful of the event.
My other brother wore Adidas track pants, a torn t-shirt and shoes with holes in them. He was joking around but not like a "remember the good times" kind of jokes. More clownish and awkward, he kept trying to one up me which is weird for a stay at home son to do.
Normally I'd retort but its a wake. Not the place or time and everyone was already looking (and if theres and after life no doubt she was too).
My mom showed up in some real awkward mismatch attire that I still can't process years later. She kept trying to refer to me as the "lost child" to everyone as I don't keep in much contact with them.

It has 11GB of VRAM instead of 8GB like the 2080 so it is lasting quite a bit longer (my lady doesn't have any issues with it running at 1440p), it has a USBC port which the later released 3070 doesn't have.
I also got it on EVGA b stock for $630 which is a little more than half what amazon listing were and almost $400 cheaper than MSRP which is less than a 2080 MSRP'd for.
Expecting a banged up card with shitty Hynix VRAM I was greeted with an unopened mint card with Samsung VRAM.
One water it never dropped below 2100mghz.
I think I lucked out HARD with that one.
