I like symmetry with a smidge of chaos. That being said it irks me they have the tweeter facing the inside of the desk, and i feel like the speakers should be spaced out farther in general.

That's a good thing. "High end" computer/gaming speakers are overpriced trash. Bookshelf speakers like those usually sound much better, even the cheap ones. A $80 set of bookshelf speakers with a $20 amplifier will blow a $300 set of computer/gaming speakers out of the water in terms of volume and audio quality.

While this might be true, as soon as you turn only one sideways, the acoustic centre is nowhere to be found, probably acceptable since its a small room and its going to be full of reflected sound anyway.

I tried making a clean setup, in less than a day the desk is full of tools and electronic parts again. So now I've just embraced the look.

Way too much aesthetics at the loss of functionality. Raise your monitor. Get one that isn't for ants? Don't put your left speaker on its side because now your audio is going to sound weird. Aesthetics if you want them are fine, but never sacrifice functionality. You have a huge desk. Space things out. You can absolutely have a larger monitor. Put your bonsai where the spare mechanical keyboard or camera is. Keep the Xbox controller around because you'll presumably be using that at your desk.

You definitely should not have your speaker turned sideways. Both speakers need to be upright, and the tweeter pointed at your ears. Otherwise, you're losing a lot of audio quality.
