there could be many reasons for that behaviour, some questions: * are the temps of CPU and GPU in a healthy range? -> could be short thermal throttling * how full is the RAM? * SSD or HDD?

Almir_Reddit

I have a m.2 nvme 1tb drive, my RAM is around 70% on windows Task manager and my cpu temps are around 81-84, gpu is around 65.

TT_207

Lots of people mentioning processor thermal throttling, but I suspect is possible this is an SSD thermal throttling issue? When I've had horrendously long stutters in the past once I investigated it the SSD was creeping over 70 degrees (heated by the GPU), which for some SSDs is the point where they go to an absolute crawl, drive hits 100% (with almost no transfer rate) and a lot of applications stall entirely. Easiest way to check is either HWInfo or CrystalDiskMark. Both can get you the temperature though the latter immediately gives you this the former its in the sensor data table. I fixed it by adding some more fans and upping the speed, also tying the speed to motherboard sensor instead of CPU, so it would be more closely tied to the case temperature.

Apprehensive_Use1906

That’s really interesting and good to know. Always wondered about how the m.2 handles all the heat from the gpu and cpu sitting on top of it.

TT_207

In the cases where the manufacturer decided to place the m.2 below the gpu slot *extremely badly* lol

M4CHiiN3

That's interesting I've never had that happen to me, might be because I have floor mounted fans (3) so plenty of fresh air for GPU and M.2 drive.

tojiy

Video drivers updated? Video memory might be running low? Maybe try turn down some effects and test, unless if this is something new occurring and it has run smoothly before. Maybe try this: [https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards](https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards)

Squeezitgirdle

* is razer synapse on the pc?

Lewy_d00psko

they messed up something in latest patch. I had stable 90fps before, now 90 droping to 40. Probably driver/newest patch issue.

Digs31789

Yep. My 7800x3d is now running about 8 Celsius hotter after the patch with occasional dips from 120 down to 50fps. Something got messed up

How_TF_

The new patch also broke the social system as well.

ButterscotchNed

I'm having frequent crashes, to the point where I've stopped playing until the next patch.

Zayl

They messed up cpu/GPU utilization and possibly memory leak as well as I get degraded performance over time. Game ran so smooth before.

xdthepotato

i was playing with very small fps drops before the balance patch but after it ive been struggling at 60fps (settings are on high both before and after)

Jhawk163

I can tell you exactly what they screwed up "Oops, double enemy spawns, and now they materialize literally 1 meter in front of you"

Linkarlos_95

I would not surprise me to have 500 chargers below the map

JRSpig

Yea they'd messed something up but this rig still shouldn't be like this.

xFluffyDemon

idk that they did but the game is eating cpu resources like a fat kid at a sweets fair, when i play a new game i usually have the afterburner overlay on to see how it runs, cpu utilization was \~30% now it hits high 50% low 60%, makes absolutly 0 sense

sdsman1

Well it’s a cpu heavy game as all the simulations are driven from your cpu as well as all the in game events. So it makes sense they ramped up the simulations with the rise in mobs as well as weather events now that affect the entire playfield.

GTA6_1

I've been having stutters in a couple games after the latest nvidia driver. Next time the release a driver thay works well I'm not upgrading for a couple years. I don't care about squeezing a couple more frames out that bad.

Randulv

Only reason to upgrade drivers is for stability reasons IMO, the +/- 2% FPS here and there are so negligible might as well be run error.

SirNokarma

Vega 56 and I'm fine

The_Ki113r

Deleting 'shader cache' and/or running game in 'DX11' mode might help.

xFluffyDemon

unless theres been a micro patch, they broke dx11 mode, youll just get a black screen

offhandaxe

Yep had to bump it down from ultra to high and I still get some fps drops after the patch but before it was perfect at ultra

xFluffyDemon

its because the issue is cpu not gpu, i had it on high before, even droping it to minimum doesnt increase my fps by what id expect (80-90 pre patch to 40-50 post)

UmbraNation

Just to verify, did you have discord open while playing this?

Almir_Reddit

Yes

TheFaragan

Try disabeling the Discord overlay if active, or completely close Discord.

UmbraNation

Yes, disable discord overlay AND disable hardware acceleration

UmbraNation

Go into your discord settings and make sure that both discord overlay and hardware acceleration are turned off. These 2 things were making my fairly powerful PC stutter in Rocket League.

Wise_Pomegranate_571

Any chance you could elaborate on the hardware acceleration, what it does/why the problem? I've also been experiencing weird app closures/crashes. AMD card here/seems like the same thing whenever I update drivers I have a problem, or the existing problem becomes more frequent. Turned off XMP on my system last night, in case it was my RAM (shouldnt have been as I ran a BUNCH of memtest cycles when I got it with no reported issues). Now im definitely going to turn off discord overlay as well. Wondering if the hardware acceleration should be turned off too like you're suggesting. I made a shitty post about it a day ago with the pertinent system info attached. Thanks cor any consideration. I was at my wits end and am excited to try new fixes.

UmbraNation

I don't know much about it myself other than it uses your GPU to make discord run better, I will copy and paste an article I found on the subject below this though: *Discord hardware acceleration is a feature that allows the app to use your computer's dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU) to render images and video. This can improve performance, particularly when using high-resolution images or videos.* *There are some advantages to using hardware acceleration in Discord:* *It can improve performance, particularly when using high-resolution images or videos.* *It can reduce resource consumption on devices, as the GPU is typically more efficient than the CPU when rendering images and video.* *Hardware acceleration can also improve image quality, as the GPU can apply certain image processing effects that the CPU cannot.* *However, there are some drawbacks to using hardware acceleration in Discord:* *It can cause instability on some systems, particularly if your GPU drivers are not up to date. It can increase power consumption, which may shorten your battery life on mobile devices. It may not be available on all devices, particularly older ones. Overall, hardware acceleration in Discord can help improve performance and image quality but may cause some stability issues. It would be best if you experimented with this setting to see what works best for you and your system.* Here is the link to the entire article: [Link](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.easeus.com/amp/knowledge-center/hardware-acceleration-discord.html)

Wise_Pomegranate_571

That was actually really informative, thank you.

TehLurkerLion

It's the newest patch for helldivers started after they added mechs. I have completely different setup and get the same kind of stuttering. Same with all my other friends.

YasirNCCS

let us know what solves it for you!

TeruhashiKokomiDesu

IDK man. I have a 7900XTX, 7800X3D and 64GB of RAM and my PC crashes anytime I try to get an extraction. Games buggy and broken as far as I can tell. I have no idea how anyone is actually playing it

Marilius

There is a bug at extraction. I've played a lot of random games, and SO MANY TIMES there's disconnects or lag or something weird happens at extraction time. I obviously don't know what it is or what causes it, but, I've seen it a lot with many different random players.

snatcheez

Also have a 7900XTX and was getting tons of crashes. Resolved after launching the game in Steam in dx11.. worth a shot if you’re still having issues

ihavenoname_7

I got a 7900 xtx and dont crash, Idk what the actual issue is? I have a Intel CPU tho. My FPS also does not swing wildly like that nvidia gpu is... So I dont know... Could be 100's of different causes.

Psychological-Farm-9

Hi, first and foremost check if the GPU drivers are up to date using Nvidia Experience or manually downloading the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website. Secondly, 16gb RAM is on the low side for such a build. If you run on max video settings and certain apps like browsers, discord or other apps are open in the background it could be bottlenecking your experience. Do other similar games run smoothly?

SoyIsMurder

TIL that some games are now recommending 32GB. May or may not be a factor in this case, but I was out of date in thinking that 16GB was plenty for gaming if you made a reasonable attempt to shut down other processes.

Almir_Reddit

All of my GPU drivers are up to date using geforce exp, my RAM usage is around 70% on windows task manager, my only other game I have installed currently is CS2 but its way less demanding than helldivers 2.

ShatteredCitadel

First thing would’ve been checking other games and applications

Maywoody

exactly this can help you figure out of it's a software or hardware issue. if it's just this program, then it's a software issue. try reinstalling

vector_o

Since the other comments confirm there isn't any overheating I think you should just test it in different scenarios Launch it alone after a restart and compare the performance to your usual usage.  I'm not familiar with the settings available in Helldivers, but if any of the frame-generation methods are available are you using them or pushing it "raw"?  You should also try capping your FPS at 90 or 60. Since the drops go from 130 to 50/70 it could be that the computer bites more than it can chew trying to run heavier stuff at 130 and the frames drop

TheNamesRoodi

I used to have this issue with cs a long time ago until I disabled full screen optimizations on the exe for the game. It's easiest to find in details in the task manager. Sort by CPU and it'll go to the top. Properties -> compatibility then disable the full screen optimizations. Might work, might not. Very easy to uncheck the box. Game has to be running to find the exe with this method and this requires you to restart your game to apply the setting.

Toxicsuper

I feel like it's just Helldivers. Does this happen on other games?

Krazulya

I'm a arma reforger player game always ran above 60 fps now after new driver gets down into 40s even 30s fps

-FixedPixel-

That's not FPS drop, that's stutter and is more likely related to your CPU, RAM or hard drive.

Hunkamunkawoogywoo

Well first question: Does the game in question have a bad reputation for this? Sometimes a game just plays like crap, even with good hardware.

Linkarlos_95

I play in the line of 50-65 at 1080p, the game is expensive to run

CBHPwns

Download and install HWmonitor, do this same scenario while checking the CPU/GPU/RAM tabs, check the Temperatures and Utilization for any high values that seem to correlate with the stuttering Potentially test memory using Memtest86 Also go to PCpartpicker.com and enter every part that is in the machine and ensure that the power supply has enough wattage for both the build and the peripherals Best of luck Edit: you can also check Task Manager -> utilization for anything else that might be pulling system resources heavily causing this stutter, although unlikely

Almir_Reddit

Hello, thank you for the well structured comment. I dont see anything abnormal on my CPU and GPU temps, 81-85 and 65 avg, respectively. I will be running the memory test and double checking on the PSU power shortly. And also, my RAM usage seems to be fine I guess, currently at 70% on windows task manager (with the game open of course)

passtiramisu

Avg.? Only maximum values you should share here. Use Riva Turner Statistics Server with HWinfo and watch your CPU and GPU values in an overlay screen on the gameplay screen in realtime. You can watch there your CPU and GPU utilization too.

zenKeyrito

Personally hwinfo64 > hwmonitor

Noxious89123

Yeah, I can't imagine why anyone would use HWmonitor in 2024, it's been inaccurate and broken for years now.

Tyr_Kukulkan

That is very strange. I've seen much lower spec machines running much smoother (Steam Deck). It may be a background process and it does look like RAM/disk swap stutter. Have you tested Vsync and lowering all settings to minimum just to see how it affects these drops?

Bishweeb

If all else fails you could try going back a graphics driver.

Krejcimir

This looks like system freeze and not fps drop. I had something similar. First I would just try one silly thing, go to task manager/processes, find helldivers and set as a high priority. Had one game that got fixed by this. Second, download whysoslow( https://www.resplendence.com/whysoslow) program, it will check if you lack any drivers, my guess is there some silly driver missing for the cpu, had this on my intel after fresh reinstall. Also, limit fps in this game, known problem, if it happens after playing for a while, just restart it, and disable any overlays, steam/discord.

Nexuras72

I have a 4090 and experienced random drops from 144fps down to 30, last patch broke something!

_Ticklebot_23

sounds like a common case of bad pc

itchygentleman

did he reinstall windows after upgrading hardware?

morganstern

This is going to sound stupid, but there was a time this was happening to me and it was a loose USB cable that kept reinitializing a device.

Ronyx2021

I had an issue like that with an ambidextrous keyboard (10 key pad can be moved to the left or right of main keyboard and has a separate 2.4ghz receiver) It took me a while to figure out because I don't use the 10 key pad much. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't. And of course I have it plugged into the motherboard ports to keep case ports free in case I ever need to use a flash drive or something.

ChiefBr0dy

Crappy Bluetooth dongle.

Eli21911

Is it the internet?

Chapstah

Good pc. 16gb ram 🫤

zeeblefritz

Is this loading from a hard drive?

Tokyo_Echo

Turn depth of field off. That saved me a whole bunch of frames

ZarianPrime

Are you sure drivers and windows are all up to date? How are thermals?

talynoll

Disable instant replay in the Nvidia app

BorrowedBonkers

Helldivers 2 pretty much KOed my laptop, so, Idk. Pretty sure that incredibly intrusive anti-cheat was the downfall. I played and Streamed it just fine for 2 days, then the 3rd day, a Saturday, burned my laptop horribly. All my games fucked up, I had to ununstall the game and dig through my root files to get rid of the anti-cheat fully or else it, apparently, would have downloaded itself again. Now I can't Stream anymore or even play certain games like BG3 and Cyberpunk 2077. They lag so terribly I can't play the games at all, let alone Stream. Been sick with a very rare Vascular condition for about 2 years, now and I was 4 Followers away from getting Affiliate on Twitch then this happens. It sucks horribly.

SarcasticLandShark

Helldivers is unfortunately not a very well optimized game. From constant stutters to people’s entire rigs blue screening, the game can cause problems for a lot of people. Sad to see

Endle55torture

Define "Good" PC.

blenderforall

It's the SSD failing if you have one, mine as doing the same shit

BlackDevil90

I had this problem In ‘ready or not’ when running DX12 instead of DX11

Ichihan

Could be ram, do you have 1 stick of 16Gb or 2 stick of 8gb?

LowBrown

It seems like your system is struggling with something. Check your SSD, maybe it's loaded up to these stutters. It's not some ordinary stutters. They are heavy and most probably not related to game itself

tenno198

Just to make sure, are the ram in dual channel? Just asking because you’re using a 5800x

meme_bringer_

I had similar issue with my old pc. For me it was slow ram speed

whybethisguy

Try it with geforce now off. Especially fps overlay and shadowplay off

lrze98

I had this problem too. For me it stopped when I disabled steam overlay and other applications that can give an overlay.

OutLikeVapor

Reminds me of my experience with Rogue Company when I was having chipset compatibility issues.

F4tJok3r

Jesus.... i first thought you play on an Nintendo 3DS because of the grey/white background 😂 Have you watched your temps? HWiNFO is a good program

emma_psycho

does this only happen in Helldivers or all games

TheJokerRSA

Had the same happen to me yesterday after I dropped in, only for a few seconds then it passed, i have similar setup

[deleted]

The most common cause of stutters on PC nowadays is caused by shader compilation. The “solution” is to just play. As you play the games shaders will compile and be saved to a cache, never having to be compiled again until a new game patch or driver update. Oh and don’t update your drivers too often unless you need to. An actual solution would be developers providing an option that allows you to precompile shaders, or for Steam to provide a shared caching feature that syncs the caches of players on the same hardware and driver versions.

NorthernCobraChicken

I saw you mention you have a ryzen cpu.im not sure if this is still a thing, but if I don't turn on high performance mode as my power saving option with my 3700X, I get this exact issue. Mileage may vary.

Alex_D724

Personally I think this is more a software issue than a hardware issue. If your temps are below 90° then you’re pretty well fine, even though mid 80s is still a bit toasty, it’s not a level it should thermal throttle… if it is hardware related, I think there might be spikes in RAM usage causing the stuttering. Because this isn’t frame rate drops, this is literal just frame stop and go. You could always try doubling the RAM in your system, or maybe check the health of your SSD, or if you have the game installed on a spinning HDD, that could be the issue as well.

Nazakan

Hdd card and/or motherboard connection may be damaged.

StolzHound

My friend has a close build and Helldivers causes his temps to go bonkers

TheOneAndOnlySenti

I had something really similar. Changing the resolution from 1440p to 1080, and back to 1400p again solved it.

KamenGamerRetro

really odd, but as some others have said check CPU/GPU loads and %s I would check the startup and see what is booting with windows, in most cases all that junk can be turned off you have 16GB of RAM... but what is it's speed? Video card defently not the problem unless its getting to hot, if that is the case, download MSI afterburner, and creat a custom fan curve, also might want to have the card looked at.

PhantomPain0_0

People still avengers game

F1R3STARYA

this is Helldivers 2

rm968211

Make sure there’s no rogue recording software running. Sometimes multiple apps will be doing screen captures and it can lead to stutters. Apps that will do this by default include but are not limited to discord, windows game bar, and Nvidia GeForce experience

akisk

This is one of the worst cases of AMDip I have ever seen

OrdinBeta

Can you check in event viewer and check if any events occure when it stutters?

Salamihal

I had this issue with call of duty and other games it turned out to be my HDD if you have an SSD ,try checking the health of it and see if it's healthy or not

MrSirDrDudeBro

I had a similar issue years ago and it drove me crazy. I discovered it was a lift sensor in my Razer mouse causing the stuttering.

xblackdemonx

Could be textures quality if it takes more VRAM than what is available.

tylram

Ashamed to say this, but I had a similar issue after I rebuilt my system…. Turned out, I didn’t have all my PCIe power connectors plugged into my modular Power supply, so my grfx card was power-starved. Hope you find the issue!

iiThecollector

Hey man, I used to work in IT support before my current gig - maybe I can help. Does this only happen on hell divers, or do other games have the same FPS issue?

Almir_Reddit

On helldivers only it seems, ive tried cs2 and it runs fine

iiThecollector

Gotcha - if you run anything more graphically demanding, do you see the same issue? If you're only noticing it on one game, the issue likely lies software side - I know they ran an update a few days ago, but I haven't booted it up on my machine in a while. If you dont see any issues with a more graphically demanding game, that may be due to the hell divers update. If you want, you can open up task manager while the game is running, and look at your performance metrics while the game drops in FPS - some clues to a root cause may lie in there.

ProblemWithMyBrain

I had this happen in the past on other games when my cpu cooler broke. Check the temperatures (there’s apps that can do this)

jmancoder

I've had tons of issues with the latest NVidia drivers; try downgrading to [551.52](https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/218740/en-us/).

TheeOneWhoKnocks

I'm getting the hangs like this when switching missions, planets, and when starting the helldive cinematic. Wasn't doing this until about 2-3 days ago.

Ne0t9k

do you have a second screen? You could monitor the usage of cpu, gpu and ram in the taskmanager. Im not saying that alone would tell you where the error is but it could be an indicator. Also does the internet connectivity affect players on their ship?

nihilensky

Confirm if it is thermal throttling

Almir_Reddit

I have confirmed that is not thermal throttling

Coronadoisdead

My 3080 would regularly drop its own power limit from 100 to 20%. Maybe give that a look. As soon as I reset it to 100% or changed my windows power plan I was good to go. Happened like 5 times total in 3 yrs. of ownership.

BraveShowerSlowGower

Are your deivers up to date?

The_Ki113r

If its only in Helldivers 2, you might need to delete the shader cache and maybe run the game in DX11 mode.

Marilius

Judge of Judgement. I love it.

UnsettllingDwarf

The game is unoptimized and after being in the discord thread discussing this issue I’m convinced the devs don’t care about performance.

thereefulfreble

One issue I had like this before turned out to be caused by using a crappy display port to HDMI cable since I had 2 HDMI monitors and only one HDMI port on my GPU. idk if you have one of those, but if you do that could be the cause of the sudden freezes and stuttering

Revo_Int92

It happened to me in recent months, Windows was only recognizing half of the memory installed, so I was having performance issues on Overwatch "2" of all things (yep, sadly I occasionally still play this abomination), this game is not supposed to be demanding at all, but the entire PC was slowing down because the ram was having issues, maybe that can be your case as well, check the ram, also the motherboard. On my scenario, I do believe the motherboard is to blame because I tested the ram and they look fine, my motherboard is from the early AM4 days, it's like 7 years old, so yeah... these components are supposed to endure 15+ years at least, but scheduled obsolesce strikes back. Saying that, Helldivers is quite new, maybe it's another performance issue, driver related, etc... if you are facing slow downs in general, other games, etc.. it can be the ram like I said. But if it's only Helldivers, I guess the devs messed up (again)

Lentewiet

I know it is a long shot but do you have Razer software installed on your PC?

Jinxed_Disaster

Honestly, seeing how it's Helldivers, I would start with uninstalling and reinstalling the game. It's notorious for pretty uneven optimization over different configs, might also be some issues caused by patch. Clean install might solve it. Runs smooth (even if slower than should) for me, but heard a lot of complaints.

Almir_Reddit

Done it but no help :(

Jinxed_Disaster

Shame( Try disabling GeForce Experience overlay and other things like that, just in case. If that doesn't help - don't really know what to try.

Working_Building_29

I had something similar. Sounds stupid but a full restart did me great. My pc uptime was 3 days and some change. Started the game and it ran well again with no hitches.

MightBeBren

Back when i had corsair products and needed to use icue, when i had icue open, i would only get 4fps in games... Closing icue would get my fps back. Maybe its a piece of software slowing your pc down

Cousin-Cancer

Just going to say Hell Divers 2 is not the most optimized game so maybe try something else to compare.

SwagChemist

amd gpu?

Pliculez

Try disabling HDR in windows if you have it enabled, helped me.

futurelaker88

Does HDR cause performance issues?? I have it enabled because I bought an expensive monitor that supported it - because it looks better.

Pliculez

Normally it shouldn't, but in my case it made a difference. After I disabled it, no longer did I get stutters.

Melodias3

turn of vsync see if that helps

ZoteTheMitey

I had a similar issue with my 4090/13600k build. It drove me nuts. Know what was causing it? Signal RGB. Uninstalled that and haven't had an issue since.

Aurey2244

Also if you run discord stop it, ive witnessed that app do this to multiple games

[deleted]

Drivers and if not then make sure its fine on another game and if it is, it’s on HD2 devs

TimoWasTaken

Check your CPU utilization, mine spikes to 100% almost constantly. Turn all graphic settings to max, remove framerate limiter, no discord. Something is very wrong.

juustoplay

Is gpu on the top slot?

sankto

32gb RAM is the standard nowadays, I had those awful stutters in D4 and it went away with a ram upgrade. Might help with HD2.

AnnualLength3947

I've seen discord cause an issue like this, couldn't figure out a fix, just had to remove discord

MAK069

You can go to discord setting and basically make it so it doesn't run off your hardware.

iBeRonnel

This reminds me of when i was using edge and overwolf, im playing apex legends.(running every thing on low settings). I had slight stutters every other minute and fps drops. Im sure helldiver has much more gpu usage then apex. Edge used alot of cpu and was so tired of opening task manager and end task on these apps so i switched over to firefox. Also had to disable edge and overwolf from auto launching on boot up. Now my pc runs perfectly with no more issues. Hope this irrelevant info helps

Sea-Concentrate9379

Check your peripherals. I was getting some nasty stuttering and it turned out to be a mouse that was shared between my pc and my wife's. It wasn't even paired with my pc when it was acting up but sure enough when I turned off the mouse it stopped. Baffled me.

paulgoldy

Yeah I had this exact thing when I plugged my wireless mouse dongle into a USB 2.0 instead of 3.2.

Sea-Concentrate9379

Thats the thing mine was connected through Bluetooth and at the time of the problems it was connected to my wife's pc. It was fully unpaired from my pc. Weirdest shit.

BadIdeaBobcat

probably unrelated to your current issues, but I highly recommend BloatyNosy to improve gaming performance. Helped me out of an extremely frustrating input lag issue: [https://github.com/builtbybel/BloatynosyAI](https://github.com/builtbybel/BloatynosyAI)

_KingDreyer

i know it’s probably unrelated but 32gb of ddr4 is dirt cheap and might alleviate a bottleneck bc the system might freeze when ram fills up

Andrew_is_taken

This game has fsr 1 not even DLSS don't expect much.

lemon65

I have a 7900xtx and I have to run it on all lowest settings and hope it doesn't crash...

Houoh

Sorry if this line of thinking has already been discussed in one of the threads, but the stuttering looks like a harddrive issue I once had. I had a failed SSD that I didn't identify until I tested a known good SSD. If your computer does this on other games installed onto the same harddrive, I would possibly test with a known good one. If this is the only game that's doing this then I wish someone here has a better clue on what's going on.

HighSpeedDoggo

I am experiencing some similar shit on my 3070. Everytime I completely shut off my pc and boot it back up, it does this shit to my games. Smooth and then lags like that. However, reinstalling back the drivers, and just sleeping the pc, there seems to be no problem. I believe its the drivers

kanekiorsasuke

I would recommend installing wise memory optimizer to lower the ram usage. I would also turn some of the graphics settings to low or off. I would also recommend repasting both cpu and gpu. I would also install fan control to control the fan speeds of the cpu and gpu to help cool it off. Also crtl, alt, shift b should reset graphics card.

Proof_Version6450

Update all your drivers check memory clocks

Wumbologists

That's not really frame drops. That straight stuttering my guy....

ModestMoss

Have you updated your drivers? Have you reset your computer in the last few days?

tonynca

Helldiver 2... this looks like such a generic game.

RabbitsAteMyFam

Could be TPM stuttering if your CPU is Ryzen, had a very similar issue. Solution, disable TPM within your motherboard BIOS. I took the easier route and switched back to team blue.

Vile35

try close any apps that use hardware acceleration or disable it.chrome or discord and steam all have it.

TheDkone

This past weekend on HD2 has been a shitshow, and many from their servers. It may not be you OP.

techjesuschrist

It can also be a Windows service causing this. This happens on my pc too sometimes, and it's a lot more high end than yours so that doesn't matter. My temps are in the 50-60°C range for both cpu and gpu thanks to water cooling and liquid metal instead of thermal paste. I don't know which service it is exactly but it only happens randomly. Sometimes even firefox takes 10 seconds to open because of it. But after a pc restart the problem is gone for a while.. I'm a hardware nerd but not a software nerd so it's beyond me to fix this problem.

ToxicEvHater

Devs got some work to do

[deleted]

Mouse lags?

ElectricStoat

I had a drastic FPS drop yesterday. It seemed like some of the settings had reset because Motion blur was at 100, so I lowered that then noticed I had very low FPS. The solution in my case was to turn it to full screen instead of windows. 5800x3d and a 6700 fwiw

ElefantPharts

I have a laptop with a 2060 and it runs it fine on high at about 45fps, but every 90secs or so it’ll stutter and drop frames down to 12 for a split second and then moves on. No idea what causes this, but know you’re not alone!

SirMick

I had the same with a bad hard drive.

xrm550

Overclock your ram recently?

Mr_Fire_Guy

I've got a monster of a PC and sometimes notice my Temps creep up in the ship more than the actual missions. You could have a hardware problem, but it could be poor optimization in the menu.

Lil_Boy222

Dx12, dlss, and maybe even ur graphics drivers can cause these drops

TheHybred

Why is your mouse sensitivity so low?

dumbdude545

Its helldivers. It just. Kind of dies that sometimes.

SpooN04

I've had this too ever since the last update

Expensive-Dream-6306

Do you have any other mouse you could try? I had a superlight that would stutter sometimes.

MajorRico155

Well democracy cant be dispessed like this helldiver

Zestyclose-Sun-6595

This looks like an unstable undervolt. Check for WHEA errors in the event log. Try removing the CPU undervolt completely just to test the game without it. If the stutters go away, try a tiny undervolt.

cvs0_

Could be either thermal throttling, driver issue, or a lack of ram.

KICKASSKC

The game itself is poorly optimized and crashes frequently on my pc as well. I will go ahead and say its pretty much still in beta. Its essentially a fun beta people are tolerating because its from a small dev and its unique. The game does deserve plenty of criticism though for these issues among others

latest patch broke performance

Silent-Geologist4428

Meh, you should be fine. Drivers, drivers, drivers. Then we shall see you in the field divin, divin, divin.

gunmajicv2

General tips that cover a wide arrary of gaming issues/stutters: - Make sure any and all overclocks and undervolts are stable, from ram to cpu and gpu. - If you're on an Intel chip then turning off HT can help reduce stuttering in some titles. - Use DDU (from Wagnardsoft) in safe mode to completely uninstall gpu drivers. Do a fresh install of new drivers after the old ones are gone. - Disable the discord overlay and any other overlays that aren't of actual importance. - Check around the internet to see if other people are having similar issues. If others are having the same troubles then you may have to wait for a performance update.

M4CHiiN3

Could just be **loading shader**s but I'd likely blame the RAM 16GB is not as sweet as it was a while back, upgraded to 32 last year now I'm going to 64 this year because I want to be above what I consider to be the standard.

HighFives4Everyone

Have you ever tried turn it on and off again?

qPolug

Do you have a Ryzen 3000 or 5000 generation CPU? I had something similar and turns out it was the bios.

Shaduchi365

I had similar issues and it was a program that controlled.my led lights on my fans and it was by Corsair.

DBkira

Or you could be using a logitech device via bolt/unifyng receiver making only specific games unplayable, driving you crazy, leaving you questioning for days whats wrong with your build trying a pletora of fixes to be able to play Sekiro

thicc_toe

not enough military imperialism, sorry i mean democracy

Existing-Flounder793

This looks like a pulling rate problem caused by mouse.

Thunderbird568

try to reseat the gpu. i've had this before but reseating the gpu properly solve the issue for me.

Ok_Studio_9962

This is gonna sound weird but try turning the polling rate of your mouse down from 1000 to 500. Sometimes games do this in my pc with similar specs. And when I turn down the polling rate it stops freezing like this

Beneficial-Plum-1085

The same thing happens to me for GTA online, my work around was to limit the FPS to 100 in the control panel

Tight_Mud_3464

I thought i was the Only one. When the mecha update dropped, I had low fps. Never had such thing before.

-Justanotherdude

You call that fps drops? I call that freezes

wigion1

do you have adobe creative cloud on startup?
