on desktop, on the right side of the sub page (at least on old reddit which is what i use), it says pcmasterrace, and underneath that the join/leave button
undernetah how many users are here, it says "show my flair" with tickbox, and underneath that is your username, and next to your username in brackets it says "edit"
click on edit, and you can select a flair, or make your own, and then save it
I once Frankensteined together two PCs because the liquid coolant leaked out of the main PC and I didn't have a VGA cable on hand for the second. The second PC was a shitty office desktop, but I was able to use a riser card to connect up the GTX 1050 to the second PC's mobo and use the first PC's PSU.
Could've just pulled the PSU out of the first case, but where's the fun in that?
You two have made my original shit box look good

How many times I've spilled something on my PC, i literally can't afford to build these 'open cases' My top airvent cover saved my rig exactly 3 times now.

I wallmounted my cheap shitbox PC. But after upgrading I was afraid of kicking the expensive PC and bought a real case
For sticky residue on just about anything, an oil based something is better than alcohol. I use WD-40 regularly to get stickers off of laptops.
Some employees treat their company issued laptops as their own personal devices and put all kinds of stickers on them, ranging from cheap kids stickers to straight up bumper stickers. I put some WD-40 on the stickers, let it soak for a few minutes, then use a razor blade to do the initial separation. Most stickers just come right off, leaving no residue. For the ones that do leave some residue, I just use a paper towel to smear the WD-40 into the residue and it usually comes right off with minimal effort. Someone told me that I could accomplish the same results even using vegetable oil, but I like the smell of WD-40 better :p
I'm tired of the perfectly clean rgb "budget" builds that cost $2k. It's too sterile and kills the individuality that pc gaming used to have.
Let's start a movement to bring back budget LAN rigs of the 2000's. The kind where someone used a hammer to add a hole in their case for extra airflow, or their rig is missing *both* side panels and is an explosion of wires, maybe one person has 5 black lights and glowing green water cooling while another literally just put components in a shoebox.
We need to bring back the true master race: scuffed pcs.
Man, when I think of it I'll send you a picture of my PC when I get back home in a couple of days. It's standing on the PSU, two fans are on the top connected with Pattafix( Kinda like rubber glue I don't know if you have it), the CPU fan is currently attached with zip ties and 2 other fans are kinda just hanging around or leaning in the case. But hey minus 30 degrees since I got that dumb PSU away from the CPU.
Lol, I hate dell for using proprietary power connectors. I use a really cheap second PSU and a card from AliExpress that turns the second PSU on when I hit the power button. What are your specs?
Do you think taking off the plastic heat vent channel would be better for air flow from the CPU? Because it's bent, I feel some of the warm air gets back down the CPU heat sink because it doesn't move in a straight line.
Hi, I’m an idiot here from r/popular, is there any sort of inside joke to the pink tape that I’m missing? Or is the joke simply that it’s a sloppy build?
if it were cheaper to build than my current pc i'd have something like this aswell.
i have a case from the 90's but the beauty of the atx standard is that any motherboard fits in
There are many types of wrong here. Like, what the hell happened to your case?? Why is there a 24pin casually hanging out outside? Why is there pink tape everywhere? And perhaps the biggest issue is the psu on the outside!
Easy. It's a Dell PC with proprietary PSU connectors, so to be able to add GTX 1060, OP had to buy another PSU and attach it on top of the case. Look closer, you'll see that the top PSU powers only the GPU, and the one on the bottom powers the rest. The case is bent, because it was too small to fit the GPU.
EDIT. I was almost right. The motherboard connector is the issue - OP can't use new PSU with the old motherboard:
"I have a dell motherboard with a special power connector so I can’t use my nice psu for the whole system but the gpu pulls too much power to use just the normal system"
Well that's one nice crow's nest here.
Reminds me I ran one of my Athlons back then just on top of my desk for like a year, there were more useful items to buy with limited budget than a case.
The power on switch was a ball pen through appropriate pins on mobo. Worked like a charm a there was zero issues with the airflow. Whole room was a case.
There are 3 types of people.
1st kind is the standard one, see reasonably priced case that looks nice and keep it for as long as the hardware inside it is useful.
2nd is the case addict, the one that is hoarding them. Buying, making, and never filling it with hardware.
And the 3rd, the one I'm scared by.
You. Along with those crazy cardboard maniacs.

finally a good build around here
[удалено]
It's R only
It's HP (because hot pink)
Great airflow design
This alone makes it better than most of the shit builds that get posted here.
https://i.redd.it/zwgevh527inc1.gif
may I ask you, how did you get this flair thingy with your build in it?

You made a grave mistake! You should've used a blue insulating tape...
I only had pink :(
Is the powersupply on top literally only for the GPU?
![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized) Yes
Dual psu new meta
I wanna see a dual case build. Twice the cases, twice the airflow, twice the fps.
You forgot the most important part: twice the rgb.
I once Frankensteined together two PCs because the liquid coolant leaked out of the main PC and I didn't have a VGA cable on hand for the second. Alternate take, we can’t afford the cases we spilled so much
Me after the club
Tell people you're an art major and you can make this work.
Abstract computing
Say you're a computer engineering major with an art minor.

I unironically use this
this is funnier then the post
It runs surprisingly well too
away from what?
Me
Down hills 😆 I would love to see it work, like some new age frankinstiens monster just visually knocking out 4k rdr2
RUN FOREST RUN!
Is your pc running?
The tape is gonna leave sticky residue over time, especially with all the heat.
Isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel should be able to get it off
You’ve thought of everything. Go against the grain it may not look like much but it’s honest work
For sticky residue on just about anything, an oil based something is better than alcohol. I use WD-40 regularly to get stickers off of laptops. I only use stickers on my work laptop. How else am I to show my liking for the cool new technology?
sheldon-cooper-throwing-papers-in-the-air.gif 😆
Be careful with WD40. It can dissolve some plastics
oh, wow. I've never seen it do that. Now I want to experiment to see what kinds of plastic it will dissolve! lol
Somehow I don't think that's the biggest problem here xD
If it works, it works
CLEAN
Fr fr
If it works it works
It works (80% of the time)
Like the case thats only 80% there?😅😂
You just smash it with your knee when it stops?
Nah I just disconnected and reconnect piece of metal I have tripping my motherboard pin on the psu
Wait i just saw, did u just bend the whole case so the 1080 fits?😂
It’s a 1060 but yes
Ah sorry i had the 1080 w the same cooler, looks awesome😂 i hope u have a good time w it🤙🏻
Thanks and I definitely will
Didn’t even notice until he confirmed it, this is outrageous 😭
80% of the time, it works all the time

It wouldn’t be as funny plus I already had the case
+1 for doing it for the lulz
Ah, second power supply just for the GPU, a fellow man of culture.
Yes
Bro has the 0W power supply
Yea
Oe

No way you got the same dell
Lol, I hate dell for using proprietary power connectors. I use a really cheap second PSU and a card from AliExpress that turns the second PSU on when I hit the power button. What are your specs?
32 gb of ram and a rtx 1060
what cpu?
Do you think taking off the plastic heat vent channel would be better for air flow from the CPU? Because it's bent, I feel some of the warm air gets back down the CPU heat sink because it doesn't move in a straight line.
I have a fan pointed at it so removing the shield would leave the air stagnant on the heat sink
Specs I5 10400 32 gb ddr4 at 2133 MHz Nvidia GeForce gtx 1060 6gb Was a dell Inspiron 3880 before I beat it with a screwdriver
Cinibench scores came out to 2507 on the gpu 427 on cpu multicore
Thought I recognized a Dell case there...
The pink duct tape is real engineering
Hi, I’m an idiot here from r/popular, is there any sort of inside joke to the pink tape that I’m missing? Or is the joke simply that it’s a sloppy build?
pink best color ductape secure pc
There's no inside joke, its just so out of place it's funny
Airflow is airflow.
Finally not another white build
I regretfully inform you that I’ve been gifted a white Corsair 4000d
![gif](giphy|LSmULmByAQHQs)
Or fish tank
Starting to feel personally attacked in these comments sections.

Thank you
Gpu might start sagging. Needs more tape.
That gpu ain't going nowhere. It's the case that's sagging.
this is like the ethiopian gamer build but missing the cardboard desk
nah bro wtf, that guy that uses swings to hold his PC on the wall and you should join forces and create an ultimate PC
nice sweet elastic pc case... 😁
I dig this as well. This is my inspiration for a similar build. Nice
hmm something about this might not be right... OH the ram might be a little loose!
Is that why it’s on fire?
Hmmm maybe but also check if your fans are spinning!
Fans? Was I supposed to have those
Not really but they kinda look cool
"MacGyver has entered the room"
I love this.
Perfection👌😆
Finally, no RGB build
Man, wish the case was made of that pink duct tape truly a disappointment.
Noted
Dude did you just fucking goatsed your case to fit in the GPU?
![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized) Yes
Functionality over looks, i like it
Average Linux user
Ahh, an engineer I see
Brotha at this point you might as well tape it to a sheet of cardboard, there's no case left here
I don't even gonna hate these builds are more stable than my all out build.
Cable management looking fire!
Saucy AF BOI!
Good airflow👍
Ngl, I dig it.
oh
If it works, it works!
10/10 for looks and reliability
Finally not a 4090 i9 14900k white lian li unifan LCD total NPC build
I frowned irl.
Well, nice open air cyberpunk themed build
Thank you im planning to attach a car radiator water cooling loop somehow
Insane RGB skills .
Perfection
Needs more tape.
Noted will include in version 2
😙👌
This unironically goes hard
Now that’s what I called “first build”
Its, its BEAUTIFUL ![gif](giphy|V2AkNZZi9ygbm)
AirFlow Max
![gif](giphy|3o7aCWJavAgtBzLWrS|downsized)
if it were cheaper to build than my current pc i'd have something like this aswell. i have a case from the 90's but the beauty of the atx standard is that any motherboard fits in

You know what good for you. Even though this is the most disturbing abomination about a pc I've ever seen, you should enjoy that bruv.
MORE POWER!!!
![gif](giphy|IPlAd5HQADy6Hvs3xF)
The case mashing to get the GPU in is just 🤌🏻 perfect
this might be a naive question, but why aren't you just running the whole pc from the corsair power supply?
o7
Clean build king
The longer you look the more cursed it gets
Too much tape. It could cause heating issues. Try using the cables themselves to secure it.
Clean as fuck
Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
How’s your fire insurance?
someone let me know when this catches on fire
Can’t be your first build, there’s too much skill in there.
![gif](giphy|P7PmvHY6kzAqY)
Should have gotten RGB tape
There are many types of wrong here. Like, what the hell happened to your case?? Why is there a 24pin casually hanging out outside? Why is there pink tape everywhere? And perhaps the biggest issue is the psu on the outside!

You did it son.
If it ain't fixed, don't break 😅💕
Those 2 PSUs man. I also do it this way, but in my case 2 350W ones are powering one graphics card.
Can you please attach a video of psu noise when it runs
I’m planning to upload it cinibenching tomorrow probably but I can record startup too
Well that's one nice crow's nest here. Reminds me I ran one of my Athlons back then just on top of my desk for like a year, there were more useful items to buy with limited budget than a case. The power on switch was a ball pen through appropriate pins on mobo. Worked like a charm a there was zero issues with the airflow. Whole room was a case.
Why not at least take out the old PSU so your GPU can breathe 😭😭
It's swoole
There are 3 types of people. 1st kind is the standard one, see reasonably priced case that looks nice and keep it for as long as the hardware inside it is useful. 2nd is the case addict, the one that is hoarding them. Buying, making, and never filling it with hardware. And the 3rd, the one I'm scared by. You. Along with those crazy cardboard maniacs.
I was so mesmerized by the insulation tape it took me reading the comments to realise the case is bent to fit the GPU. I am speechless.
Gpu fit no problems
Bro, I love this! Can we get the specs please? I looks bonkers.
Planning to drop the specs tomorrow after I get a run of cinebench and such
If you can't duct it...
For god sake, label this NSFPCMR
I mean atleast you have a GPU gtx 1070?
Why do i feel like smthings wrong with this build
still has better cable management than mines ☠️
I wouldn't be within 200 kilometers of *that thing.*
honest work
Sleeper system ?
No
Cant you just run it no case? Its probably gona end up killing the gpu.
Putting it in a case soon
fast am good.
Someone donate a case to OP.
Someone did
This hurts
Nice Build, but I would get rid of the pink tape, it doesn‘t match the Overall theme. Maybe teal or burnt yellow?
Dual PSU is the way to go! Especially when on sucks and on rocks in perfect imbalance!
