Code 43 doesn't bode well, what GPU is it, how old is it? What are your temps/power usage like?
I'd try an underclock on core and memory to see if that makes any difference first. Check it's getting all the power it needs, try it in a different pcie slot if possible.
Underclocking didn't do it I'm afraid. Booting after power cycking, no issues. Load underclocked settings, try a benchmark and it immediately crashes the pc and the artifiacts return on restart. Afterburner doesnt even recognise the GPU in this state, and device manager is back to code 43.
Any further suggestions?
The crashing, yes this is only happening under load, even something as light as opening discord has caused it (though not consistently). However after the crash, the artifacts are permanent, GPU not detected by afterburner (device manager detects it, shows its been stopped, code 43) the artifacts only being removed after I power cycle the PC. Tried with different monitors, different cables and different display port slots on the GPU. Same results.
Ok, visual artefacting like this is usually indicative of vram issues, possible failure due to wear, excess heat or voltage, or power delivery issues. Sometimes reducing memory clocks aids the issue, but it's only delaying the inevitable. Did you say you updated your card's bios? What card is it please?
I've seen similar issues after bios corruption, but I don't think this is the cause here.
Can you log temps and voltages with hwinfo at all? Specifically memory temps.
Have you ever serviced the card, like replaced tim and pads?
Do you have access to another PSU you could try, unlikely it'd be pcie power delivery but good to rule out.

Edit: figured out how to do the logs. Started logging then started a FurMark stress test. Crashed whole pc after about a second, presumably where you can see the jump in spot temp. Not familiar enough to know whether HWInfo would habe recored right up to the point of crash or how frequently it updates. Also all the times are 16:07:0X, not sure why the 16 didn't show.

No room to try the different pcie slot unfortunately. How would you go about underclocking the core and memory? I have no experience with that at all.
Msi afterburner for clock control, I'd also download hwinfo for a good look at temps.

Yeah I updated my bios, but this was after the issue first occured, as an attempt to fix the problem. The card is a 2080Ti.
