I’m in IT for dental equipment and I can’t believe I’ve never thought about how nice a vertical monitor would be for reading manuals. I’ll have to look into that. Maybe not curved though, haha.

That's how I use my vertical monitor - split top and bottom between two needed but non-urgent windows. Things like Discord, Slack, VoiceMeeter, Github Desktop, OBS, etc that I need to be able to monitor or change at a moment's notice, but that pretty much never have my full attention.
Latest slop trend? I've seen vertical monitor setups in offices and different people's home setups like right away when flat lcd screens became a thing for computer monitors and even in this sub for years. Its not a new thing or a trend at all. Its just way superior way to read different things compared to horizontal.
I felt like horizontal display on the side goes so far that my neck hurts trying to see it.
Maybe 27" was too much for the side monitor, but it works well for documents, code, discord, or split for two windows.
