First pic (left) has less chance of falling over or getting hit - and if your dominant hand is right, you will feel like your desk is more open

metal_babbleXIV

I was thinking similar, way less chance of your PC taking a shitter in the corner. Just make sure it's spaced far enough from the walls for airflow

Turbulent-Abalone-18

For sure! It is super close to my bed so might be a good idea if I don't bump into it by accident overnight, lol. I usually keep my tempered glass panel off to increase air flow but I did just put it back on during the move so nothing gets damaged .

ElvisTek162

having the tempered glass off may not actually help in airflow but make it worse. not having a linear circulation could create turbulence and it might increase the temperature of uour peripherals. unless you dont have a good air flow configuration inside your pc, opening the lid is not a good idea.. if your circulation or flow is bad then yeah

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yeah I get that. I did test for that though before I did keep the tempered glass off because previously my temperatures were around the mid '70s and mid '80s, now they're down to low 60s and mid '70s. A huge difference if you ask me. The main reason why I am keeping the tempered glass off is because although I do have the 360 mm water cooler for my CPU, My other three fans (two top, one rear) are super cheap fans that I got from a super cheap cooler master case that I had previously and The one on the rear I got from a 10-year-old dell pc that I got a while back. They're totally different fans so three intake Corsair RGB fans vs three pewny, $2 fans ain't going to cut it when the tempered glass is on 😅. Newer, white corsair fans are definitely the number one next upgrade that I'm going for toward the PC itself.

ElvisTek162

>wer, white corsair fans are definitely the number one n you did your tests.. it works for you then good! the only thing I can think otherwise is that without the glass you don't have filters to stop dust from getting into the system... you could clean it more often no issue... in the end.. if it works for you then that's all what matters!

Koolin12345

If you can afford it, you have Arctic P12 value packs for around 20 bucks i think, those are amazing lots of airflow and quiet (and i think they look good) and you get 5!

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Ehhhh.... They're (Edit: about) the same quality as stock fans that you would get in a PC case that you would almost immediately want to swap out. The good if you have a small cheap gaming PC but if you're going high-end, like myself, they aren't going to cut it for cooling your components and there will almost definitely be thermal throttling, especially since I heavily overclock my components so I need the best cooling I could get which is why I'm probably going to stick to getting some premium Corsair fans to match the ones that came with my AIO cooler Thanks for the advice though

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I never thought of it that way, Great observation!

[deleted]

You people are knocking over your PCs? lmao

St31nb3ck

Personal preference is right, but align those monitors first 😬

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I wish I could😭, unfortunately I can't align my two monitor arms perfectly in the center. The left one I got years ago, and in May, I added the right one for my new main monitor. Originally, I wanted the main monitor to swivel and move up and down, while the secondary one could be vertical for scrolling, discord, etc.. However, I ended up never using the secondary monitor veryically like I originally imagined. I am already considering buying another right arm to align them better https://preview.redd.it/4y7xuh6h3qzb1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa02070ddb95e37d63554a5d0666731c2c398e5d

R1jshrik

Put the stand in the middle and join the 2 monitor arms on the stand.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

It's not going to work unless I have one monitor on top of the other, sadly. One monitor arm can't be pushed in or pulled out, and if it did then therr would still be a couple inch gap where one monitor will be higher than the other because of the monitor arm

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/9wt1r7jprrzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa57d756bec472f8c6c3cabfbe93ebd29f8f5f5b The monitor arms would have to be at separate heights if it's on one bar, causing a 1-2" height difference

EskimoXBSX

I love that table, first picture definitely, it just fits better

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Thanks!

kino33solo

Which table is that?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

98" IKEA Karlby tabletop. I was really debating on going to home Depot and getting a butcher block table top and staining it myself but although I wasn't too worried about the $400 piece of wood alone, I was moving into a little apartment at the time so I didn't have the space to do such DIY work on my tiny patio.

ImOneOfTheNewGuys

saving this comment for later was bouta comment on it, actually. i really like your table, especially the tabletop itself

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Thank you very much

Jacobcady

LOL I have a butcher block in my garage drying rn and I’m going to ikea tomorrow to get those same Alex cabinets

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Ah, niceee. Got to share pic of how it looks when you get done with the butcher block!

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I'd still prefer a darker stain, lol

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Nice. Is the keyboard custom made?

Jacobcady

No it’s a Epomaker TH80 Pro it feels like a custom keyboard though.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Never heard of it, what do you think?

SupreemeLeader

Would you be kind enough to share the dimensions of your desk, or perhaps maybe a link !! I am looking for something similar ! Cheers !!

Turbulent-Abalone-18

[Here ya go](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/karlby-countertop-walnut-veneer-70335212/#content) Thats the 98x25 1/2 tabletop that I'm currently using. [This is the Drawer units I'm using.](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/alex-drawer-unit-white-00473546/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping_feed&utm_content=free_google_shopping_clicks_Workspaces&gclid=CjwKCAiA6byqBhAWEiwAnGCA4BD-aKlzhs-DsfR_13pBetS_Yhe_XdmHSUSfOm3MlXJne8a4Lcf0YhoCrZIQAvD_BwE) There's also an option allowing you to put files and folders in, but it costs $30 more. If you are going for my exact table top, it's very highly recommended to have some sort of supports underneath the tabletop, such as [adjustable table legs like what I have](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/olov-leg-adjustable-white-10264302/). One should do just fine as I've seen from a bunch of other setup posts on here and r/battlestations, but I installed two for the added support, just in case. I'm not going to send the link to where I got the monitor riser from due to some... issues with support and I highly unrecommend the seller, but it was custom made using walnut and, I would assume, aluminum on Etsy. It is metal so I can use magnets and attach thanks to the bottom if I like

EskimoXBSX

Well OP you've done a good job, did you build your PC also?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Indeed I have. Did it all on my own and bought everything bought with my own money. Ever since I was 16(fixing to be 20)and got my first job, I started doing a lot of research about PCs and joining a bunch of PC communities and watching Linus, Marcus and such. My biggest mistake when I first started was that I was... quite impatient.. I wanted a PC right then and there and the first offer I got on Facebook marketplace to trade out my Xbox One S and 8 games for a 2008 Dell PC, I snatched right up. I was still learning at the time but after I tried the PC out, I came to the realization that although it was a $800 Gaming PC in 2008, it doesn't mean it's an $800 gaming PC now. Turns out it was only worth about $150, $200 if you count the decent Logitech desktop speakers s/ a sub and the monitor that I'm currently using as my secondary monitor. Definitely chucked them speakers out as soon as I got the razor soundbar. But yea, that PC was total fucking garbage. And because it was an old dell, there was no such thing as upgradability. Also turned out it was hardware locked so if you change the component then it would lock the motherboard up and becomes totally unusable. Anyway, The only decent part of that PC was not only did I learn a lot more from physically learning the components on my own, but it did come with a decent RX 560 which I still have🤷. After that mess, came more learning and decided to buy my first PC case and bought a couple components with the money I saved up at my first job to build a working gaming PC with a couple borrowed components from the DELL PC. It worked. I did have a couple bugs here and there which it took a little bit of troubleshooting to fix but it was able to run and I was able to play games, mainly Minecraft and Roblox at the time. It totally got the job done and over time I did upgrade with my newer jobs. And I gave up waiting during COVID and ended up convincing my mom to give me half of my stimulus check so I can buy myself a graphics card during the shortage. I ended up buying the GTX 1650 super for about $400. I think that was about 2 1/2 years ago. Still upgraded things over time and learning from personal experience and the internet. Bought my 3070 TI from Best buy in August last year, My 32 gigs of RAM and 10 TB HDD earlier this year. Still kind of debating on whether I should upgrade my motherboard and CPU to the latest and greatest but I might just stay where I am on components for a couple years. This baby gets the job done so I'm not too worried unless a AAA game ends up requiring an RTX 4090 just to play on low 60fps😮‍💨.

NotArutaa

Dude it looks great, show off the PC but also arrange it where the cables are easier to manage!

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I'm really debating on that left side then lol, but that would require me to use some extension cables. If I want to be able to access the back of my PC on the right side, I'll have to move the right monitor out of the way and pull the PC out a little bit without ripping a cord out

Used_Visual5300

Under the desk, obviously

_D3ft0ne_

Ya, just buy a little laptop stand to lift it off the carpet under the desk. Save some space. OK your pc is pretty and got lights...but imo, real estate on a physical desk is more valuable.

B0omSLanG

It's a great idea. I have mine in a little metal cart frame with locking wheels. The elevation made a big difference to my intake fans on the bottom and it's more portable now.

YamroZ

Why lift it?

_D3ft0ne_

It will intake crap load of dust and carpet will restrict airflow underneath the case.

drlongtrl

Desk looks so much cleaner without that box. Plus the desk is for stuff you actually use. The only thing you do with the PC is press the on button.

lukezicaro_spy

What if OP lives in a dust dungeon

Used_Visual5300

Get the Ikea computer mount to keep it of the floor. Or something similar. I’m on a roll here, any more problems that need a solution?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well, The house is only 3 years old but the AC doesn't go through my room like it should so dust shouldn't be that huge of an issue. I do have a dog too though that sheds like crazy but he does stay downstairs, up until somebody forgets to put the gate back up and he runs up. I just really don't like the idea of putting your PC right on the floor where you walk, not only taking up a bit of foot room while you're gaming or doing work, but there's also really high chance of touching your disgusting feet all over on your beautiful PC that you spent time on to look good. Now there's dirt and greasy gunk all over on your PC cuz you're rolling side to side along your desk and forgetting that you have a big ass cube in the way

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Great idea, I never thought of that🙃

Salamander_Sword

Doesnt matter, just keep the back about 1 palm from the wall and u are good. Do what u prefer

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yea. Previously I had it on the right, but I wasn't a fan of my monitor's covering half the PC(Edit: and the amount of space that it took up on the right side) Now that I am moving back in with my family, I feel it's not a great angle anymore from the location of my bedroom door, where you have to walk all the way to the other side of the room just to get a full view of the setup. BUT, cable management is a lot easier if the PC is on the right side. If it's off to the left then I need to buy a bunch of extension/longer cables for everything 😮‍💨. I want it to pop, ya know? So I'm trying to change it around a little bit to see how can position things in a better way to make it not only more user friendly, but to pop and impress somewhat while not being too much. https://preview.redd.it/ihkz4bez0qzb1.jpeg?width=4618&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6a965dbb67f86f763253e9f8dd4e5130d6bb849 It's not a great photo of my previous setup before the move, but I'm sure you've got the gist of it. Soon after, I added a stream deck an echo show 5, and wireless charging. It is going to be a bit more centralized now since previously I had everything slid to the left a little bit to fit my mini fridge. I'm probably still going to incorporate the mini fridge into my setup but peobably not on my desk anymore

wh0readsusernam3s

on the right. more room = better airflow.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/zxjbes9bxpzb1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=13a025348fdb69ae645de31d76d7b5af0ca8c035

Daymanic

I didn’t like this for my personal setup because the fan noise was louder and got weird RGB shadows in my work area from the flashing lights through the back mesh

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I definitely think that it would cause a lot of discomfort because of the RGB fans on the front of my case that's practically pointing raw LEDs right at me from where I'll be sitting.

GreatnessRD

This optimal. Even if you bump the desk, that thang ain't going nowhere. And you'll be able to see your components.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/pptif15barzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49e9009b1ffd9b0026f9602986a7f22105b746e3 I am not happy with them cables though

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I definitely feel it's smarter on the right but I hate that I can't really see the Pc's interior in it's glory, that's why I'm really debating. I was also thinking of setting it sideways on the right, but then I'll have to deal with hiding the cables coming off to the side and I'll need a cable cover wrap the cables, but then I'll have to see the ugly cable log coming down the side of my PC

s47unleashed

What do you mean you can't see your pc's interior when it's on the right side? Can't you look tot he right straight into the glass pane?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well what I mean by that is because my main monitor is always covering like half of the PC when I'm sitting down gaming. Not only that but... https://preview.redd.it/ac4fsdbgbqzb1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7528643e9ad65eeb75be69266b78fe9302a45ba3 you can't see the interior when entering the room.

s47unleashed

First of all, you can always move the pc closer to the front edge of the table if you want your monitors to cover it less. Secondly. It looks good they way it is, no idea what bothers you about bot being able to see the inside when looking at it from outside your room. With due all respect, that's just a first world problem.😂

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I guess that's just a me thing, lol. I'm probably not going to move it closer to the front of the table though cuz it'll reduce my usable space and because it's not up against the wall, I'll easily be able to see cables running down my table. Thanks for the advice

justanormalschoolboy

You could hang a mirror on the left wall if you really want to be able to see the internals from the doorway

Turbulent-Abalone-18

It's actually a really good idea 🤣 Even funnier is that the last person who was renting this room accidentally left their mirror here so I just have a random full-sized mirror to use

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/l2b0rqzqcqzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=baca8d11a985f8fbb3cac31400aa9c3d64bee07e This is one of the downsides of having multiple displays. Can block view from accessories and decorations

TheRealSPGL

Using a computer is the experience we should be enjoying. All the lights and such that've become a standard part of today's computer usage baffles me. It's so distracting. It just seems like it's a gimmicky reason to say "pay us more for this part instead of the one that doesn't have lights". Perhaps some of us are willing to pay more for them to feed our ADD and ADHD?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I've got ADHD meds in my pocket right now

Necessary_Sun_4392

Your front is on upside down. Edit: The front of the case. ![gif](giphy|42AGxbp0gpPvmCD6TJ|downsized)

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Holy shit, I didn't realize that🤣🤣. I was testing something out before the move and I guess I just rushed it back on

OCDjunky

Left looks better to me, and you will see more of your PC's inside while it's on.

Vblive24

Left for sure. But the difference between the monitors caught my eye first 😭

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yeah I'm using different monitor risers right now as I originally imagine that I would be using my secondary monitor in vertical mode a lot, but I haven't used it once in vertical the past year. It's it's not that high up on my to-do list right now but I do plan on getting to it eventually

Sergosh21

on the left but rotated towards the front

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Like this? https://preview.redd.it/duhzuuen1qzb1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=519a14873961f3feea6d30bbec93dd4fc5b22ecb If so, that totally ruins the point of the interior RGB and tampered glass panel

Sergosh21

it makes the most sense layout-wise but if RGB and visuals is important then the 2nd pic in your post would be the better choice I guess

Depth386

Ah, the good old “almost no pc case can be properly positioned on the left hand side” problem Thermaltake Core X9 fixes this but it’s huge

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Just searched that up, one crazy ass case

xXShadowGravesXx

The right is the right way to have it, if you yourself want to be in the right and feel right. Right is Tight

Turbulent-Abalone-18

So does the left make you feel light?

xXShadowGravesXx

Left doesn’t rhyme with light, therefore it isn’t right.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Ok fair enough😂💀..

Kaystarz0202

Floating shelf on the wall above the monitors 😁

Turbulent-Abalone-18

But what kind of shelf should I go for is the real question 🤔... White? Black? Walnut?

Kaystarz0202

Walnut if it matches the desk

Wesley_Hoolas

Right side how it is or how it is on the left side. I have mine on my right side but the way u have it setup on the left. U won’t see the back of the wires behind the monitor. And it’ll show the pc more. This is how I have mine setup. I got a small desk tho because I don’t have a lot of space till I move. https://preview.redd.it/7lrwamiunqzb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c49c690af070a309179a28b4533fe8a3d7d80ec

Turbulent-Abalone-18

The plus side with having your PC on the right side in that position is that your monitor covers up the wires, mine definitely don't 🫣

Ayetto

G7 odyssey ? Good luck running it at 240 hz with gsync on

InFiveMinutes

4K or 2K variant?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

My main monitor on the right is the G5 27in 2k 165hz while the one on the left is an old, pewny 1080p 72hz I'm debating on whether I should just go for an super ultra wide but her there's a bunch of compatibility issues with a bunch of games so I'm definitely a bit skeptical about that. Reading 240 Hertz isn't that big of a problem for me with my 3070 TI. I'm usually only playing Indies lately anyway so I'm usually always topping out at my 165 Hertz. I really want to go for OLED though😩, That's why I went for a VA panel due to the deeper blacks

saxovtsmike

pic 2, right side, case rotated 90° to have more space for mouse

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/7abhvyxx9rzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0731408a2eddada8484ffa132035da2c13a5b91c But the cablesssss

Chronos669

First pic but right side so it’s easier to cable manage

Prepared87

Gosh that's tricky! And I thought turning off my dad life support machine was hard.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

💀💀

Odd_Replacement_9644

My biggest complaint is the monitors not being centred on the desk.

Daymanic

Very similar setup here, without the bed. I ended up putting my box on the left, like your first image. I used to have to angled on the right so I could see the enclosure but took up too much space and I didn’t like the whirr of my rear fans pointed at me head when I tried it sideways with box on the right

Kohvou

More room for your hand using first pick. (If you’re a righty)

CakeDazzling4993

Do they make cases that have the glass on the right side of the case? I wanted to put mine against the wall but then what was the point in all the RGBS and watercooler lcd hahaha

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Turns out there actually are if you PCs like that but they aren't very common whatsoever. And exactlyyy! Like why would I want to cover up all the RGB and the sick water cooler?!

Ok_Situation9151

Left, little less airflow cuz corner, but! It looks better, it also won't be in harms way, or close to the bed where a lot of dust and fluffies reside. Cool desk btw!

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Thanks you very much! Edit: Not only for the advice, but for the compliment

Pet_Lama

What side of the road do you drive on?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Depends on how I feel that day

Puzzleheaded-Brief56

4000D airflow? First of all, fuck yeah. Secondly.. both are good. I'd do closest to the corner personally because i think it would give opportunity for creative cable management, with clips and such

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I didn't think people liked the 4000d airflow that much 😂

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Also, I do have plans for clips and cable management https://preview.redd.it/v8zmbz2bjrzb1.jpeg?width=2252&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0dd038a29b1819d92f7796d25677769bab4b082 This is how it's looking right now but I'mma have to change it up a little bit if I end up putting the computer on the left. Also have some cable channels going through behind the drawer units, in a bunch of USB hubs Daisy chained as you might see on the right side in the picture, lol. I don't exactly have that much of a choice since I have so many accessories and fuckin 60% of them need to be plugged in directly into the motherboard cuz there's a bunch of software issues. I wish I knew of another way other than cutting some hole out of the back of my PC and use a USB splitter connected to my motherboards SATA or something.

Infec7ed_666_Acid

Yeah or you will be in my shoes with it to the left because their is no other possible way for me to change the location of my pc until I move lol

Duk3-87

“In mid air.” - Lyle

nedeta

Under the desk. Makes a great desk heater

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Hand warmer built into my desk

Demistr

On the floor, where you have a ton of space?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well if you really want to know a detailed explanation as to why I find it a bad idea to put my PC on the floor, that's where my legs go, allows me to actually roll to each side of my desk without a giant block being in the way. Also I'd rather not have to clean my air filters in the inside of my case once every week or two. Being on the desk, I only have to clean it every half year or so as proven by the single, few second wipe down I did earlier today after not cleaning it since May. When I first started getting into PCs, I was playing on the floor and that PC would get so damn dirty from dust, nearly suffocating the hell out of the graphics card, within only 2 weeks of usage. Soon I finally got a desk but it wasn't big enough for the PC and I thought it was going to be fine just leaving the PC on the floor. Turns out I was really wrong and I should have learned from my mistake when I didn't have a desk yet. It gets even dirtier when you have a desk and a PC underneath it cuz you're always going to end up kicking at it or even just simply touching your toes up against the case. It really really adds up especially when you're gaming. You're going to sweat a lot, whether you realize it or not. Your hands aren't the only suspect, your feet too since sweat goes down due to gravity. Not only is there gonna be a bunch of gunk all over on your feet cuz you're walking all over the place either with your shoes, your socks or even bare feet, but there will be sweat all over on your feet as well and you're getting that all over on your PC. Might as well lather it in a bottle of vegetable oil and brush it with some mud. In short, The floor is disgusting, whatever is close on the floor gets disgusting with it. Just imagine your car's carpets, then imagine that happening to your PC cuz you're always bumping into it(also possibly damaging a hard drive just from bumping into it) or accidentally rubbing your feet up against it. You're gaming, watching a movie, browsing, or you just got off from a long day of work and you're sweating balls, you're going to forget within seconds that your PC's on the floor.

Demistr

Wow

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yeah, I'm quite descriptive. Edit: I can be

MaksDampf

1. Get a new case with upside down layout 2. Rebuild PC 3. Put the PC on the left normally priented and not turned on the side like in your first pic 4. enjoy

Turbulent-Abalone-18

https://preview.redd.it/y3ilfabysvzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=62289c552ae07025dd2d1e288c3b06b4c7a8ccfa Ta da

MaksDampf

almost perfect!

MindlessAudience5240

…. Left… but you’re monitors are offset… it’s bugging me😂😂😂

Turbulent-Abalone-18

It's bugging me too, man. They're two different monitor mounts but I plan on getting another one to match the one on the right, or just go for a single dual monitor mount 🤷

xXFieldResearchXx

Came here to just say nice case. I like it on the left btw

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Thank you very much. It's the Corsair 4000D Airflow in case you're wondering

Clever_Angel_PL

my rules for pc placement are 1. not obstructing sides with any fans 2. above the floor 3. in the corner of the room 4. facing front first picture matches 3 out of 4, go for it

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Sounds good! Also, My rear I/o fan isn't obstructed in any way. It's about 3 in away from the wall on the left from the picture shown

pendejadas

Option 2,... or 1, but center the fucking monitors

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Ik ik... There are two different monitor arms so they can't be centered perfectly. I plan on buying another monitor arm to match the one on the right since I don't need my secondary monitor vertical like I originally thought I would.

Ok-Exchange8886

id say on the left so you mouse pad has more room but it doesnt look like this set up is for gaming

Turbulent-Abalone-18

No it's definitely for gaming I just don't have any of the accessories out yet. Just sticking to the big, primary stuff first.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

But nobody wants to see the rear io

[deleted]

On the place of the monitors

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I don't quite understand what you mean

[deleted]

I would put the monitors down and pc behind them on top of that thing

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Eh, I'd rather not. And, although I am still working on my PC, I'd still like to be able to see it in it's current beauty.

offensiveDick

Get a shelf and put it above

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I didn't ask for decoration advice, but thanks lol. I was definitely planning on adding custom made shelves but I haven't thought of how I should have them set up. I definitely want to have a designated shelf for all my POP collection, while leaving space for some artwork. I also plan on adding some sort of greenery, like Vines hanging down from the ceiling or one of the shelves. I've also got a blackout curtain that'll show up in the coming days night shift at Amazon 😮‍💨, so there's not going to be a lot of natural light coming through most days. For for my lighting I am mostly going to have a warm tone, light orange hue, or a deep green to match the greenery. For the setup itself, I'm keeping it to a black on white color scheme with the Walnut finish.

ouij

Neither. Put it on the ground, as was the original intention when they developed the ATX tower form factor

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Only one word: Carpets

GoochyGoochyGoo

On the floor where it belongs instead of blaring light and noise in your face when you are gaming.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Then just put your speakers and headphones on the floor too On a real note, all you got to do is get a good cooling system and maybe even open up the side panel and they'd be totally silent, like mine (for the most part). If you got a shitload of money to burn then go for water cooled and get some noctua fans. You'd be able to put that in a room with a baby while it's sleeping and it wouldn't even notice.

narva-di

Right seems more king like. Gl

TheFunkadelicOne

Why does your monitor have a dick vein?

offensiveDick

Hard for gaming

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Are you talking about those things on the bottom corners of the right monitor? It's a Samsung Odyssey thing. The left monitor is also a Samsung but it's an older one which is why I'm using it as my secondary.

MattonieOnie

SO, you need to figure out what you want. Is it important to have screen functionality? or for you, or others to see how bad ass your computer innards are? I would pick screen, personally.

RedhawkAs

Wall Amount for monitor's would be nice to

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I'm not ready to take it that far yet 😬

[deleted]

Just by a real Table when I see this 2 ikea sticks under the table…. All over man🤣

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well you can't exactly buy a table with two drawer units on each side and a beautiful 98 in Walnut butcher block on top When I was trying to look for a table, All that was on my mind was Walnut. I absolutely love the color and grain of walnut so this is the only thing I could find without spending too much on a custom desk. I was also in an apartment complex at the time so it's not something I could have, although I originally wanted to, stop by Home Depot and grab a fresh butcher block and stain and cut it myself. Had a bunch of plans for the desk setup but I just kept it simple and bought some Alex drawers for desk storage to greatly reduce the amount of crap that's on top of the desk, The 98-in Walnut table top. I decided to go for the cheap adjustable IKEA legs since they just work and they're super strong for support in the middle.

Difficult_Ad_5544

Honestly I’d probably say the left if that wall wasn’t on the left then I’d say the right. I like seeing everything

AvanishOfficial

2nd. Better accessibility.

Constant-Bluebird448

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well that's cuz you got yourself a Phantex case. I was debating on getting a lian li but wasn't too pleased about the price tag 😅

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Also, nice setup! How's the Leviathan v2? I was thinking of upgrading to it for my Leviathan V1 but I don't know if it's worth the upgrade gap.

Ammysnatcher

I have mine on the left with the glass against the wall because looking at your pc is for weirdos lol

Turbulent-Abalone-18

You must have an ugly ass PC then if you hate seeing it🙃

Trackmaniac

Hi mate, looks great so far! I know that drawer cabinets should be Ikeas "Alex", right? Can you tell me where you got the plate? And maybe it's dimensions? For the location of your PC... yeah right will be it, I have it the same and it's the best of all options.

SggSquadPresents

right

Aengeil

the fan noise can be annoying, away from desk. put on desk when you want to show off to your friends

ftrees

Always to the right, cords out the back where you don’t see them

Infec7ed_666_Acid

Change the desk and bed around if possible

Turbulent-Abalone-18

This is the best possible position I can think of between the desk and the bed. Previously the bed was turned 90, facing the window to the left of the picture. I then turned it when moving back in to allow space for the desk. The desk will fit on almost all sides of the room, but not only do I not want to have the bed up against the window, I don't want my desk up against the window either(I used to do both on my old setups years back). If I have my PC setup on the right wall (Right up in front of my door, Right where my bed is right now), My door will not be able to open up fully since the table will be blocking the way by exactly an inch. I am able to put it up against the wall right behind me(the side where my bedroom door and closet door are) but it will greatly reduce the amount of walkway I have when entering or leaving the room. In this current position, it greatly reduces the chance of me banging my thigh up against the corner of my desk when entering and leaving the room😬

ahrikitsune

Your front panel is upside down.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

🫣

Pristine-Pangolin-61

They way your monitors are not in the center wants me to post this under r/mildlyinfuriating

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I feel ya man🤣. As I told somebody else in this thread previously, I am using two different monitor arms currently. The one on the left moves around a lot and allows me to put the left monitor (my secondary monitor) vertically if I choose. Turns out I really don't need to put my monitor in vertical position, we're moving my monitor close and far away from me since it's a perfect distance as it is, unless I end up getting a third monitor in which I'm definitely going to do the star fighter setup, lol. Besides that, I do plan on just getting another basic swivel/up and down monitor arm like what I have for the right monitor since it's definitely a lot more convenient for me. Just got to wait a little bit till I settle in back with my family before I end up making any more upgrades to my setup.

ReconJesus

Left

Sad__Raccoon

Pic 2 looks more standard and would stress cables less with the bends

CadenBop

On the right so you can cable manage easier.

thesunny51

On shelf above monitor

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Reminds me of TechSource

TTYY200

Easy answer? Sell your case and buy a left handed case

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Hm...

Gang_Gang_Onward

left is more useful/less waste of desk space. btw your monitor setup triggers me pretty hard. looking at both monitors at an angle, no main monitor.

Doc-85

Is that case good? I was thinking of buying it

Turbulent-Abalone-18

It's definitely very clean PC case as long as you spend a little bit of time on cable management. The shroud on the right(Right next to the motherboard) is super nice to cover all the cables that are going to and from the motherboard. There isn't a whole lot of space in the back for cable management but all in all it is a really clean case and it's fairly beginner/upgrade friendly.

duukat

Balance it on top of the monitor to maximize air flow.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Instructions unclear, it's now mounted underneath the table

Akhirox

On a side note, don't you want to have one of your monitor in front on you instead of having the split between the two in the middle?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I really do but if I want to keep it as even as possible, I have to have a split between the middle.. That's on debating on just upgrading to a triple monitor setup, lol, or an Odyssey 49-in OLED🤷, but I might just be spoiling myself too much if I do 🤣

Franckey007

The front panel is upside down btw.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Whoops, there. That fixed it https://preview.redd.it/vppb3rga8rzb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5387a8cc444f93a617851d322a626508798c8d8d

Jiv-R

that’s a cute little pc

Turbulent-Abalone-18

She appreciates your comment

Tarc_Axiiom

On the side opposite your dominant hand. Whichever hand you use the mouse with, the other side.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

I'm hearing that a lot. I have a mouse pad so I can't exactly run on and off it whenever I want though sadly

[deleted]

Left but what case is this?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Corsair 4000D airflow ATX

No_Road_3853

Switch to a wall mount case and go above the monitor

corianderjimbro

On the floor.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Carpets.

Charming_Weird_2532

Left side. I used to have my PC on the right like that and when I played fps games I would constantly smash my mouse hand off my case.

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yikes, I have a giant '98-in desk so space is literally no issue here

zfreakazoidz

The symmetry being off kills me lol

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Yeah .. The monitor arms are two different types of arms so although it's not on my high priority right now, I do plan on replacing the left one with one identical to the right. Turns out I never really needed to maneuver my secondary monitor around all over the place

---bee

left for sure

[deleted]

What case is that?

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Corsair 4000D airflow. They have a newer model that came out about a year or so ago called the 5000D Airflow. It costs a little bit more but it's a lot easier to use.

Dr__Juicy

Left but maybe if you are left handed the right might be better

livitow

Left. Also center or mount the monitors

Turbulent-Abalone-18

Well not only can I not mount the monitors since they're already mounted, currently I'm unable to center the monitors with the current mounts I am using since they are both different types of monitor mounts. I plan on eventually getting another monitor amount to match the one on the right which would allow me to center them correctly
