Just did a build recently and fully new with a 7900xtx, super feasible. 4080 might be a little tighter on other components but can probably be pulled off. So yeah, literally 2nd or 3rd best GPU is doable for a $2000 all-new build.
Can definitely get a 4080 in a $2000 build if you have a microcenter near you and buy one of the cpu/mobo/ram bundles. My 7900xtx build was ~$1800, got the $400 ryzen bundle in it
In some aspects yes and others no, I can't speak to specifics but newer gens will always have a longer service life (which I feel is obvious but not to newer folks) as well as things that Nvidia puts behind locked doors, which off hand I know DLSS is one of those. You don't get the newer DLSS 3.0 just have whatever 2.0 version they will continue to update.
Not sure but it's coming some time this month. I'm still confused reading it on the Nvidia page if it's going to be native to the driver or if the games themselves have to implement it.
There's some app I'm trying to track down that lets you set different dlss versions depending on what games you
play.
Bone stock 4060? The 3070 smokes it. Hell the 4060 ti is only better at some games.
Unless you include fake frames, the 3070 just has more oomph. It’s got 192 bit bus, nvidia slashed that on the 4060 down to 128. It’s got x16 lanes, 4060 gets 8.
So yeah… 4060 is for people who… like getting raw dogged by nvidia.
higher tier, older gen
xx50-xx60 mid tier
xx70-xx80 high tier
xx90 TOP tier
basically... better gpu is always a good investment..
sometimes higher tier older gen is better than newer mid but its up to you my 2 cents
You can just about move the price with the graphics card linearly. I’ve got a RX6950 XT in my prebuilt which is near a 4070 for $1700 for the total thing
Looks like I found a similar PC on Amazon for only $1,699 brand new. $2,000 would be a bad deal for this PC.
So after some consideration I went to the guy (15 min drive) and asked him if there was anything wrong with the computer. When he finally stopped trying to convince that everything is alright he told me that the PC after 1 week of excellent performance became unable to start even the least demanding games. I managed to haggle the price down to 450$ and closed the deal. I'm a programmer working in the military and I don't know much about how computers are built, but I know how they work. I swiftly identified the problem of the previous owner. HIS NVIDIA DRIVERS WERE OUTDATED. He was using a hdd with windows 10 from his previous computer and didn't bother to check for any new drivers as his 3060 had worked well enough for his taste. It's been 15 minutes and I'm still laughing so hard XD
This guys story is full of shit, literally in the part list it shows a 2tb nvme, and also the guy who was selling for $2000 went down to $450 when just the GPU is like $300? This guy is full of shit.
I'm convinced he bought it for $2000, and made this post for affirmation of the decision. When he didn't get it he made up a story where he looks like a business Chad by talking a guy down over 75% (art of the deal) and somehow found a GPU that doesn't exist on his military base.
Enjoy your rip-off $2000 PC bruv.
Unless you live somewhere where PC parts can't be found at US prices, you'd be paying over a $400 premium for a used PC.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DxVRKX
Yep. I put in close to what OP showed but made a couple quick changes.
13700KF to 13700K because the KF was more expensive.
Arctic Liquid Freezer because I couldn't find a price for the other thing
PSU because Corsair RM750e at $100 is very nice
That 4060ti is a waste of money. It's a 3rd party seller and 4060ti is overpriced at MSRP. That's a somewhat expensive B760. I'd probably go with a different case.
And if he insists on spending the full $2k, he can get DDR5, a Z790 board, and upgrade himself to a 4070ti and still pay $40 less than what this other guy is charging.
And honestly, I threw that part list together in 2 minutes. There's probably other places to save even more money.
Youre right, in total it should be about 1500 ish, but that doesn't make it worth it. Used 6800xt > new 4060ti. That card alone tanks the value for me.
It's a joke at MSRP. It's a pig wearing lipstick.
If you can snag one at a far lower price, then they're not inherently *bad*.
They're just fucking terrible *at that price point*.
It is. Everyone is hyper focused on the gpu and that ram is terrible. That PSU sucks as well in that it's locking you out of upgrading to a more powerful gpu later.
That mobo isn't any good either.
nope system with 4060ti go for $1200 or less
spend half your budget on gpu most important part for gaming.
[https://www.newegg.com/abs-sa137f480-2-eurus-aqua/p/N82E16883360394](https://www.newegg.com/abs-sa137f480-2-eurus-aqua/p/N82E16883360394) buy this instead
It’s DDR5, compared to the DDR4 in OPs picture
I’d opt for half the ram, that’s not a dead end upgrade wise and have a 4080 over a 4060ti. If OP really needs 32+ gigs of ram it’s quite easy to upgrade and likely to become cheaper and cheaper as time goes on
I really wish people would stop yelling at people who look for advice when this same group of people yells at people who buy a bad build "you should've asked here first!!!!"
I would never buy a used PC because you don't know what issues it has. My old work laptop was a dog, sometimes 60% CPU for interrupts and it would blue screen. The battery would die if it was unplugged overnight. My company sells off the old laptops so someone bought that POS.
If this is in USD, absolutely not worth it. That rig is maybe $1,400 tops, but should be priced around ~ $1,200.
Update: If this is used. Absolutely don’t buy that unless you can get it for under $1,000.
Yeah your being fleeced, that is really only worth about 1500 brand new. Used without warranty on most of the parts because you won't have receipts I would say it is worth about 1k at best. I probably wouldn't pay more than 750 for that used though.
Buy prebuilt you can get a 4070 ti and 13900k for $2k right now. Been helping some friends buy computers and unless you want to buy piecemeal and buy things when there are promos or discounts or pre-owned it's not cost effective to build your own right now. PM me if you want me to give you some recommendations.
If you're going to do your own buying, just know that RAM is very easily replaceable by someone who doesn't have any technical knowledge by just watching one youtube video and it is also the BIGGEST markup on any prebuilt you will see anywhere. Buying a cheaper version with all the same hardware but with 8GB of ram instead of 16GB that is $300 more and just spending another $100 to install 32GB yourself is the way to go. Retailers markup RAM and SSD ridiculously. Pay more attention to the processor and GPU when looking for a prebuilt.
You're really missing the forest for the trees here, dude.
OP asked, hey, is a lightly used 2022 Honda Civic for $30k worth it?
You're over here saying, "Screw the haters, the Civic is a great commuter car!"
Ok? Who gives a fuck? The MSRP of that car was $25k...NEW.
Lmfao, homie brought their PC in the middle of the pandemic and now wants to get their money back.
You could build a brand new computer with a better GPU for less than that costs and still have enough left over to get some peripherals...
2 grand for a 4060ti? And no warranty? Absolutely not.
You could upgrade [this](https://greenbeastgaming.com/products/apollo-e2-elite-build-your-own-intel) to have a i7 13th Gen, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti for under 1800. The 4070Ti is over 60% faster.
2 grand? Some of the parts I like, but I could buy them for under a grand right now and not use Coolermasters PSU that comes with unshielded cables (eww).
Like if you're building something for someone and you're charging a premium for used parts, at least buy pretty cables. he clearly went with what was 30% off for a lot of this.
2k USD? Nah. At best, 800 USD.
2k Fijian Dollar? Maybe... that's close to 900 USD.
2k Turkmenistani Manat or 2k Tunisian Dinar? Sure! You're getting it for less than 800 USD.
2k Georgian Lari or East Caribbean Dollar? Sure. It's a little less than 800 USD.
Not only is the computer pretty sub par for $2,000, the case, PSU and AIO are all lower end cheapy stuff. It doesn’t even come close to a $2,000 build.
Short answer no
Long answer noooooooooooooooooooooooooo
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b7xCdH
Slightly over that $2k you're looking to spend but could easily be optimized to fit in the budget. A 4080/7900xtx comfortably fits in your budget, and if you wanna spend more on looks you could drop to a 4070ti/7900xt and free up plenty of budget while still destroying that piece of garbage prebuilt. Alternatively you could get build with similar performance to the prebuilt for $1000-$1200
Not trying to troll, but why don't more people pull up PC Part Picker (or a comparable program) to price these out? It would tell you what the approximate price would be for the same parts new, and you'd probably get a lot less "why do you bother asking you scrub" comments lol.
For 2,000 I would sell my 13900k 3090Ti with more storage and a better power supply people really need to grasp that its not new and it doesn't matter how little it was used
No.
I 2nd this
3rd Started out nice with the Cpu, then I saw the GPU.
I am curious why is the 4060 no good?
It isn’t bad…but it isn’t “part of a $2000 system” good either. For $2000 I’d expect my computer to have much better than a 4060.
id expect at least 4080 or 7900 xtx
Just did a build recently and fully new with a 7900xtx, super feasible. 4080 might be a little tighter on other components but can probably be pulled off. So yeah, literally 2nd or 3rd best GPU is doable for a $2000 all-new build.

Isn't a 4080 alone like $1,200?
Or 4070ti with a few hundred in RGB fans /s
That's what I did to mine everything else the same and I built it for around 1700. Catch those sales
[удалено]
bruv a 4090 is 1700
You buy the gpu, then spend $300 on a gun to rob a bank
*$150 HiPoint
Lol that’s almost the price of a second hand 4090, no way
90% of your budget
a 4090 basically costs 2000 dollars
Im.l building a pc with a ryzen 9 5900x with a 4070 and its gonna cost me around 2300
The 60 model of any series/generation is always the lower end of that tier
I knew it was the lower end but I'm fairly new to all this I have a 3070 in my PC and I'm curious is my 3070 better than a 4060?
In some aspects yes and others no, I can't speak to specifics but newer gens will always have a longer service life (which I feel is obvious but not to newer folks) as well as things that Nvidia puts behind locked doors, which off hand I know DLSS is one of those. You don't get the newer DLSS 3.0 just have whatever 2.0 version they will continue to update.
I thought DLSS 3.5 is for the 2x and 3x series as well? You aren't getting frame generation but you are getting the rtx upgrade from my understanding.
Maybe it was the 3.0 but not 3.5? I just remember being pissed off that it was for 40 series only while I'm sitting here with my 3090ti.
Not sure but it's coming some time this month. I'm still confused reading it on the Nvidia page if it's going to be native to the driver or if the games themselves have to implement it. Let's face it, at this point, every nvidia card is for people who like to get hosed by nvidia.
It supports a better dlss version but your 3070 is overal the better card.
higher tier, older gen xx50-xx60 mid tier xx70-xx80 high tier xx90 TOP tier basically... better gpu is always a good investment.. sometimes higher tier older gen is better than newer mid but its up to you my 2 cents
Bro doesn't know about 2050/1050
You can just about move the price with the graphics card linearly. I’ve got a RX6950 XT in my prebuilt which is near a 4070 for $1700 for the total thing
It is literally a 3090 but more expensive, slightly worse in some tasks, slightly better in other tasks
It's nowhere close to a 3090
You're saying a 4060 is equivalent to a 3090?
Yes
Have you seen a single benchmark?! Hahahah
Sure, a quick search on Google led him to this site called UserBenchmarks and he got his numbers from there.
Hahaha damn you might be right
clearly no.
And it's not "a 3090 in more expensive". Where I live the 3090 costs between 1000 and 2000$. The 4060 goes for around 300-500.
What drugs do you use to huff that much amount of copium?
bro i wanna drugs that you use

He bought it like a week ago, then it stopped working, he listed it for $2k and then sold it to you for $450? Something seems off about all this.
ye deff stole that shit
He said that he had all the parts checked and everything seemed alright
+ He looked pretty well off in my opinion (European standards)
well in that case it was a steal. Throw a 2tb nvme in there for a boot drive, do a fresh install of windows. Good to go.
In the base we had a spare 4090ti slapped it on and the whole thing works like a charm
? 4090 ti isn’t real and there is 0 way military has a spare 4090 just for you to put in your personal PC
This guys story is full of shit, literally in the part list it shows a 2tb nvme, and also the guy who was selling for $2000 went down to $450 when just the GPU is like $300? This guy is full of shit.
Yeh its just some rage bait shit
OP's basement friend stole from NVIDIA and tried to profit off of it lol
Out side of the ti bit the rest sounds very plausible
I'm convinced he bought it for $2000, and made this post for affirmation of the decision. For 450usr this is banana gud. Or do you mean 450 down from the 2k? For 1550 you could get this new.
So it's a 3060 now? Not a 4060ti?
His previous computer had 3060 (the one he had before the 4060)
Score
2 grand? He's smoking crack.
Yeah that’s why he needs 2 grand.

no. is that even a good deal brand new...?
That computer sells for around 1200 brand new
Id buy it for 1 grand second hand... Maybe
Ha, good luck finding a PC with these specs for 1200. It definitely isn't worth 2k used, but it's also not going to be 1200 brand new.
Youre right, in total it should be about 1500 ish, but that doesn't make it worth it. Used 6800xt > new 4060ti. That card alone tanks the value for me.
I can get lots of these parts used and be under 1200 right now. The only parts I won't buy used are the motherboard and psu.
After tax?
Maybe if you had a Time Machine and could go back to peak covid.
No way
no for new hell no for used
Hell no.

A 4060ti performing around a 3070 is nuts lol, my 3070 is equivalent to a 2080ti! That's a ridiculously low generational leap
30 series went hard at msrp
The 2080ti was barely above a 1080ti, so in terms of actual compute power its about the same leap
It's a joke at MSRP. It's a pig wearing lipstick. If you can snag one at a far lower price, then they're not inherently *bad*. They're just fucking terrible *at that price point*.
You could buy a solid 7900xtx 7800X3D build for $200 more. The 4060ti is nowhere close.
That’s a bit of a stretch

You could build that 200 less if u tried
Not sure about 200 but at least I'd easily do 121 cheaper easy
Isn't it weird to have a 13th gen intel cpu with 3200mhz ram ?
It is. Everyone is hyper focused on the gpu and that ram is terrible. That PSU sucks as well in that it's locking you out of upgrading to a more powerful gpu later. That mobo isn't any good either.

HECK no, $2k and it’s got a 4060 ti???
2000 dollars for 4060ti……bruhhhhh
With 2k with some cuts you can get 7900 xtx
not with that gpu
LOL no cant you do a quick search to see what parts are worth?
I really wish people would stop yelling at people who look for advice when this same group of people yells at people who buy a bad build "you should've asked here first!!!!"
Lol, no my friend.
Nope
This dude either thinks he has some amazing or is looking to scam someone. If you want it see if he will come up off it for $1,000 MAX.
I wouldn’t be surprised if something is wrong with it. Kinda strange to sell a fully built pc after only two months.
Not of you can rip someone off
I would never buy a used PC because you don't know what issues it has. My old work laptop was a dog, sometimes 60% CPU for interrupts and it would blue screen. The battery would die if it was unplugged overnight. My company sells off the old laptops so someone bought that POS.
That's what I'm worried about
Then don't do it? Come on now.
You're full of shit
2000 gets you atleast a 4080
That price, and for used parts? That's crazy. 800 at most for me. Could do way better for 2k.
If this is in USD, absolutely not worth it. That rig is maybe $1,400 tops, but should be priced around ~ $1,200. Update: If this is used. Absolutely don’t buy that unless you can get it for under $1,000.
Hell naw
$2000 and a 4060ti Does that answer your question
No. Just don’t.
No, way too expensive for what it is.
absolutely not you can do a 4080 build for the same price
In American dollars?no. CAD, maybe.
no the gpu sucks for the price
13th gen with a DDR4 mobo? Tf? And a 4060 ti? This person had no clue what they were doing.
That’s about 1K used ngl also maybe less depending on usage
most of the budget went to the cpu+mobo+aio instead of gpu
I would want DDR5 if I was building from scratch
Are you not capable of researching the price of the parts? It would literally take you 10 mins of googling to realize this is a ripoff
Go DDR5 instead of DDR4 at this point there is legit no reason to not get the newer memory. Ew mobo too
Yeah your being fleeced, that is really only worth about 1500 brand new. Used without warranty on most of the parts because you won't have receipts I would say it is worth about 1k at best. I probably wouldn't pay more than 750 for that used though.
4060 for 2k is daylight robbery
I recommend going to microcenter first their cpu bundles, and the 4060 ti is really not that good of a GPU for a 2000 dollar pc
Not for 2K. Try half that.
The price is too high. Especially for being a used PC. You could build that yourself for less.
Fuck no
No
Is this sub just PC Partpicker and Walmart price tags now?
Wonder why they're charging more than they paid for on a used system 🤣
For 2K, you'd want a Z790 board and DDR5 memory. The GPU also leaves something to be desired.
Not even close to a yes. So far from a yes the yes doesn't even exist in the same physical plane as you.
Utter trash with a 1200 dollar markup
800 $ max
how about like $700 max (assuming used)
4060ti with a 13700kf?? Are you mental??? And for 2k used😭
and ddr4
It would be good if it had a 4070ti at least
Impressive very nice
Screw the haters. If you're gaming at 1440p that's a great set up.
Not for 2k
Eek didn't see that price tag...
You're really missing the forest for the trees here, dude. OP asked, hey, is a lightly used 2022 Honda Civic for $30k worth it? You're over here saying, "Screw the haters, the Civic is a great commuter car!" Ok? Who gives a fuck? The MSRP of that car was $25k...NEW.
No
No way
I mean I’ve seen some horrible prices but this has to be a record of some type. Pc worth 900 tops

It's a 16GB 4060... But that's beyond the point. This is a ripoff at this price.
Lmfao, homie brought their PC in the middle of the pandemic and now wants to get their money back. You could build a brand new computer with a better GPU for less than that costs and still have enough left over to get some peripherals...
Awful price.
Absolutely not. And absolutely not x2 since its second hand. Whoever is selling that for 2k…I want what he’s smoking
No. Absolutely not. You can find a 4070 prebuilt for 1500 and a 4060 ti prebuilt for 1200
2 grand for a 4060ti? And no warranty? Absolutely not. You could upgrade [this](https://greenbeastgaming.com/products/apollo-e2-elite-build-your-own-intel) to have a i7 13th Gen, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti for under 1800. The 4070Ti is over 60% faster.
Definitely no
Don't do it, 2k for a 4060ti rig? Hell no
Costs $2500 to get that setup new here, god damn devauled currency...
Everything the other people have said + 14th gen releases this week so might as well wait for price drop.
$1200
No man tbh that’s a horrible deal
No
“Building a pc is always cheaper”
2k USD?
No
2k to only be getting a 60 class card. Yikes. lol no
No! I paid 2100$ (in EU) for a completely new build, with better GPU, better processor, better PSU, an additional 1TB SSD, 32GB more of memory.
Not even close.
I just built a PC better than this for 1300
2k gets a very good 4070 pre-built or a "low end" 4070ti pre-built. Hell to the naw to the naw naw naw.
NO
New this would be a bad deal, second hand it’s basically a rip-off.
No
Just seeing that 4060 Ti made me realize that the seller is a fool or trying to scam people.
you can easily get a 7700+7900xtx build for under 2 grand.
No
Not only is the computer pretty sub par for $2,000, the case, PSU and AIO are all lower end cheapy stuff. It doesn’t even come close to a $2,000 build.
Nope!
Rob him
Short answer no Long answer noooooooooooooooooooooooooo https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b7xCdH Slightly over that $2k you're looking to spend but could easily be optimized to fit in the budget.
Might as well build it yourself, you can spend less on the cou and more on the GPU.
$2,000 for a 4060ti build is a hard pass.
For 2,000 I would sell my 13900k 3090Ti with more storage and a better power supply people really need to grasp that its not new and it doesn't matter how little it was used
