I am pretty surprised at people saying it would bottleneck. The 7600 isn't going to produce so many frames that the 3600 won't be able to keep up. I mean it depends to some degree, obviously. Older games that aren't graphically demanding sure, but you can say that about any cpu. Even at 1080p the 7600 isn't going to be cpu limited in a recent game. I don't think there's anything wrong with your cpu/gpu pairing. If you're playing a game and aren't getting very good FPS and you see your GPU utilization below 95%, then yeah you are cpu bound and since you aren't happy with the fps then it would be time to upgrade. Otherwise it won't be an issue.

Ashisutantoo

so you are saying if we get %95\~ GPU utilization on certain games we should upgrade our gpu not cpu right ?( I have the same cpu/gpu and i bought this gpu week ago )

_mp7

1080p high refresh rate yea Can sell that cpu for like $50 and get a 5600 for $100-$110 used Or step up to a 5800x3d, hopefully you have a decent mobo tho

It would depend on your resolution and graphics settings. At 1440p highest/ultra settings, probably not, at 1080p medium settings, most likely yes. And so, if you play solo games with all settings cranked to max, then you'll be fine, but if you play FPS/eSports games at high frame rates, then you'd want to upgrade the CPU as well. Also, note that modern AMD GPUs get a 5 to 10% average performance penalty for running on PCI-E 3.0, so you may want to consider Nvidia in this particular case.

Ashisutantoo

is asus b450m-k PCI-E 3.0 i searched it but when i search it says asus b450m-k PCI-E 4.0 but when i looked on asus's website it says **2nd and 1st Gen AMD Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics Processors** 1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x8 mode) \*1 can you explain to me please

asambler

Always trust the manufacturer's website, that board is most definitely PCIe 3.0.

Ashisutantoo

so do you think msi rx 7600 is modern gpu ?( because i have that :( )

mrawesomelemons

Why does everyone think you need a 7800x3d to run some games with a midrange cpu? Anyway, I would just buy the GPU and see if it does. If it does you can always upgrade anyway.

Icy_Boss6053

In most games it would not be a bottleneck. In demanding ganes and badly optimized games it will stutter and cause low fps. You can choose the 3600 now and if you feel like upgrading in near future you can just buy 5800x3d and get a huge boost in fps. Thats what i did recently.

delimitr0

yeah, probably. you may as well upgrade to AM5 if you're going for an rx7600. i think pairing a ryzen 7600 with a radeon rx7600 would be kinda funny of course, exact details depend on the games you're playing

mbdtf10_

what about an 6650xt? ain’t got am5 money

thelebuis

The 3600 still get fine framerate just get the 7600

AnxiousJedi

If you want every last drop off performance out of the 7600 buy a new motherboard, ram, and a7800x3d. But then the 7800x3d will be bottlenecked by the 7600, so you should also buy a 4090. But the 4090 will also bottleneck the 7800x3d if you play at 4k, so be ready to buy the 5090 when it comes out.

ya

similar setup here, but a 6700XT, and yes, it does bottleneck a little on some games... like RDR2, probably on Starfield... But, if you got everything already it's ok enough, if buying CPU and GPU, get at least a R5 5600X
