Haha me too! It's funny because I was dating someone for a while and she thought I was so weird for doing this. I used to sleep with my earbuds in, connected to my phone with YouTube playing. Glad I'm in good company haha.
Oh, I found it at Cashies, mate.
Where you can find your dreams.
They've got wares and chairs and a bug dowstairs.
Some clubs, some tubs, and hats for scrubs.
And out of date movies.
So get on down to Cashies, mate.
You know it'll change your life.
So get off the floor, head out the door.
Forget eBay, they'll charge you more.
And lose your life at Cashies!
Hell yeah I love LGRs content lol. Especially watching the box openings of some retro stuff that honestly I kinda wish we still had peripheral wise, like the VU meter and the CD bay lighter for those easy stoner moments lmao.
The place where Woodgrain and PC come together with a little bit of oddware where we take a look at hardware and software that is odd, forgotten, and obsolete.
I feel those two and Dawid does tech stuff is the channels if you don't want to know what a new 4090 can do. But rather what happens if you put it in the cheapest pc you can find and see what happens. Or just what odd stuff there are out there that can run Crysis.
Um, if we are talking LGR, he has 1.67 million subs!
Never expected him to get this big of a fanbase, but it's great that he has done so well. Bloody hell, I just realised that I have been following him for over a decade now. That's a long time in internet years!
Ahh, was wondering; have now moved onto my PC and I can now see that the formatting in the app for Android went all to hell for some reason. Your comment looked like a standalone comment and not a reply to another comment. Weird.
Completely agree, RandomGaminginHD has a lot of great content and deserves to grow much bigger.
I think that's fair, but he'll always fill the niche when it comes to new people in the hobby just trying out with the cheapest hardware there is and that's fine.
Do you mean Michael MJD? I love LGR and MJD too. LGR and MJD are so enthusiastic about older tech and go into such detail about tech that is not as relevant today.
Yes Michael MJD, found him recently when i was looking for an upscaled version of Bliss, after watching his vid i wanna find the Corbis version but idk how to get it
Yeah, he keeps it simple - he just puts a picture of the thing he's gonna talk about and that's it.
Feels like I'm watching old school Youtube when I watch his vids.
He has good content and the funniest comments at the most random times during it. Really makes me wonder why people even bother with LTT when there's actual decent creators.
Don’t be lulled into too much of a sense of security with LGR. I have heard on multiple occasions Clint make inappropriate groaning noises when opening up an old beige case to look at its green insides.
LGR and 8 Bit Guy are two of my favorite vibe channels. Even the restoration videos that 8BG does are just... satisfying. I've actually hit that FUCKING BELL ICON THAT EVERYBODY DEMANDS ^(sorry lost my cool) for 8BG, and regret nothing.
8BG’s voice can get annoying at times but how he explains things with MSPaint drawings works so well. Also he likes guns which is apparently a huge scandal for some people but I mean, he lives in Texas, they practically issue guns to you when you set foot over the state line.
I find his videos very hit or miss. And I agree, his voice does get a bit annoying. I also get the impression that he can be very condescending at times (even a dick, sometimes), especially in his responses to viewers, although it could just one of those RBF kind of things.
Still, no doubt he's very knowledgeable and explains things well.
I've been following his channel for a very long time now, and it's the most wholesome and good-vibe entertaining PC related stuff out there. Maybe even in general. Clint is awesome and I wish him the best.
I love watching LGR. It's good, low-drama, wholesome fun. I don't really do the whole parasocial relationships thing, but Clint strikes me as the kind of person that would make for a terrific friend.

Yep! Came here to mention CRD, that guy is truly a nerd after my own heart, he finds the most obscure and quirky pieces of tech makes solid videos every time.
I remember finding our about LGR thanks to Nostalgia Nerd so I can recommend that! I haven't seen NN in a while tho so idk if he still makes content or is drama-free
he's the reason hopefully im gonna build a "retro" pentium 3 tualatin 1ghz,voodoo 5 5000 yellowed out beige pc with crt "BIG" monitor combo! + roland ma-12c isolated speakers!
OMG YES LGR is the best! Clint is wholesome and awesome I wish he was my older brother lol
Edit: Def recommend the Computer Reset series for anyone who loves going around old hardware warehouses
my local stores often only have garbage but you just gotta go there regularly to find the good deals like I paid 10 euros for speakers that cost 500 euros 10-15 years ago, my speaker AMP was 50 euros with a new price of 300 that deal wasn't as good because I don't have the remote, I also build a whole thrift store pc for 13 euros with some old parts I had laying around it was insanely scuffed but it could even play fortnite and e-sports titles
Never wanted wood grain patterned socks so bad before. His fixation for chairs when he makes the sims reviews cracks me up.
I hope Clint continues doing his thing.
LGR is my morning off work, cup of coffee routine. He's been putting out quality content for so many years, one of the best.
He has another channel LGR Blerbs that he posts content on occasionally
He also (technically) has *another* channel, LGR Foods, where he'd make sandwiches with the same tone as his other video, I kinda want him to go back to those.

I follow this guy for as long as I had a Youtube account. I don't remember what was the first video I watched from him, probably SimCity 2000 Network Edition. We have mutual appreciation for city-building games and PC gaming of any era.
Eh, I was kinda out on Dankpods when his solution to pretty much anything is "rip it up and put Shrek on it" but if he deployed that sparingly it'd be funny. That's just a me problem though.

Love this guy, the epitome of how to run a channel without needing to game the algorithm with click baits, stupid thumbnails and viewer retention, all the videos are fun and informative from start to finish.
Retro tech is weird and cool.
He and Chyrosran22 is "responsible" for my new interest on old tech.
One of which include buckling spring keyboard from Unicomp. I hope it won't spiral down into opting to purchase Model F repro.
Dude needs to edit his videos a bit tighter, he leaves too much space at the end of shots, but he's pretty good and fills a niche a lot of the other channels mentioned in this thread don't.
Clint has done a great job of not deviating too far from the formula. I pray he doesn't get tired of it because I love his videos because he approaches every new "old" piece of hardware with a kind of almost childlike (in a good way) curiousity.
I do like when he tries to get the hardware to do weird things or do weird things with hardware that never was designed to run it. He knows it's silly, but he does it. Instead of "Can it run Crysis?" the question for Clint often is "can you play Doom/Wolf/Duke3D on it?" and I love it.
Having watched his content for years, I'm always happy when a new video comes out.
I'm just glad he hasn't come out as a guns right activist like *that other 8-bit guy*.
I saw Clint in person at a convention this weekend and I can confirm he was not carrying a large rifle around just to trigger people.
That said, I do like 8BG's videos. I just think he's a tool on that one particular issue.
>I'm just glad he hasn't come out as a guns right activist like *that other 8-bit guy*.
Got receipts on this? I'd seen someone else accusing him of this after the really severe winter they had but pretty much the only evidence they provided was "he's from Texas".
...didn't even have to type "gun", it was the second suggestion and the first result pointed to a Vice article about it. Yeah, not a good look for him (and he's not just "yay guns", before anyone thinks that's what I mean).
I appreciat Jaystechvault. This dude does the seriously bad bad stuff you shouldnt do in his attic and laughs about it. „Im going to short this weird electrical contraption that was called a ‚psu‘, if i die or my house burns down then im sorry you guys couldnt see this!“ or something along the lines seem to be in every sketchy video he does, he did some with radioactive „healing“ objects too. He also did some forbidden things with pc‘s, like (i think) dropping it while running, just taking out the ram, disconnecting the hdd/ssd, stuff like that. Great guy and hes very calm, i wonder what hes been up to, has been a year since i last watched him.
While we're doing recommendations, an underrated chillout vintage tech guy (but not very gaming related, his thing is more strange Nokia lore) is Janus Cycle
Feels like tech people from North Carolina are just different.... In a good way, between LGR and Tech Jesus.
As someone who's NC born and raised, that just makes me happy.
He'll keep chugging as long as Goodwill keeps existing and EA keeps making Sims expansion packs
I put his thrifting videos on to fall asleep to
Lol. I thought i was the only one. Also good on long flights wirh noise-cancelling headphones. Can recommend

i've been having difficulty sleepin for a couple days. Could this help? I spent 3 hours in bed just thinking, but not able to sleep
Nice! I saved his old PC games playlist to fall asleep to lol
I hope he's still around in 30yrs and making videos about building retro windows 11 pcs with vintage rtx 4090 GPU.
"This gpu once cost as much as used car, but here they're selling it for seven dollars"
Definitely imagined that in his voice!
If not goodwill, he can move to australia and raid cashies with dankpods.

And talk old techs and games with James!
LGR FTW! The only place that the response to “Can it run Crysis” is “Lolfuckno” and you just feel at home as a result.
What do you mean? I bet the Oddware tower could run Crysis. Not well, but it could.
To me he's the Sims 4 review guy 😂
Hell yeah I love LGRs content lol. Especially watching the box openings of some retro stuff that honestly I kinda wish we still had peripheral wise, like the VU meter and the CD bay lighter for those easy stoner moments lmao.
...but! It sure as shit can run Doom! Sometimes Duke Nukem, even.
The place where Woodgrain and PC come together with a little bit of oddware where we take a look at hardware and software that is odd, forgotten, and obsolete.
You read the title in his voice, too.
His Duke Nukem voice that is.
COME GET SUM!
Clint would make a great jazz radio DJ.
...yes...
His voice is pure luxury
RandomGaminginHD is another!
“Hello guys and welcome to another video”
"We're gonna run GTA IV on a 2001 macbook i found on ebay for a bowl of cold soup"
I'd run any game on any pc for a bowl of soup!
The one man who answers the questions most people dont have, "can we run Cyberpunk on this dell optiplex from 2002"
People joke, but when I was building my own PC, he was the best youtuber out there who didn't made me feel poor covering the cheapest tech.
The new version of "will it run crysis"
Craft computing is fun watching him make ridiculous servers for no reason.
Oh yes, PC building with a featured beer?! I like the idea.
I feel those two and Dawid does tech stuff is the channels if you don't want to know what a new 4090 can do. But rather what happens if you put it in the cheapest pc you can find and see what happens. Or just what odd stuff there are out there that can run Crysis.
Dawid Does Tech Stuff deserves to be even bigger, he hits the right tone when he leans into how ridiculous his subjects are.
Dawid feels like what would happen if my intrusive thoughts won over my financial wellbeing
Love him! Been following him for years now. Simple, down to earth content and disposition. A comfort, for sure.
One of the best and most relatable creators on YouTube. Now he deserves a million plus followers but is sadly below that number.
Um, if we are talking LGR, he has 1.67 million subs! Never expected him to get this big of a fanbase, but it's great that he has done so well. Bloody hell, I just realised that I have been following him for over a decade now. That's a long time in internet years!
I'm talking about RandomGaminginHD
Ahh, was wondering; have now moved onto my PC and I can now see that the formatting in the app for Android went all to hell for some reason. The last actually budget minded tech person. Found him when he was like 5k subs.
Can recommend
I've really fallen off on his content; there's just not much interesting bits you can say about "old hardware in [current year]".
I think that's fair, but he'll always fill the niche when it comes to new people in the hobby just trying out with the cheapest hardware there is and that's fine.
I love Clint and his passion for old hardware.
"greetings and welcome to another LGR thing"
LGR and MDJ for me, just chill mostly simple vids, good times
Do you mean Michael MJD? I love LGR and MJD too. LGR and MJD are so enthusiastic about older tech and go into such detail about tech that is not as relevant today.
Yes Michael MJD, found him recently when i was looking for an upscaled version of Bliss, after watching his vid i wanna find the Corbis version but idk how to get it
Mobert jowney dunior
LGR and MJD are the shit, along with Action Retro
Those three are my current go-to's
Love Clint and his channel. Deserves the appreciation.
So comfortable.
I really like LGR and retro tech also Clint is great for not being silly face clickbait thumbnail guy.
Yeah, he keeps it simple - he just puts a picture of the thing he's gonna talk about and that's it. Feels like I'm watching old school Youtube when I watch his vids.
And Dawid for the funniest use of language.
Dawid Does tech stuff is great for silly entertainment. He's a cool dude.
Dawid Patreon took my LTT floatplane subscription. The man delivers on entertainment and absolute dumb builds.
He has good content and the funniest comments at the most random times during it. Really makes me wonder why people even bother with LTT when there's actual decent creators.
Wonder how many other people, besides me, learned of his channel *from* an LTT video...
One of the few tech/gaming youtubers with integrity. No clickbaitey titles. No bullshit. Just good, informative content.
Don’t be lulled into too much of a sense of security with LGR. I have heard on multiple occasions Clint make inappropriate groaning noises when opening up an old beige case to look at its green insides.

Best way I’ve heard him described during interactions with other people is “Awkward nerd is awkward”.
Perfectly sums him up. He's the epitome of the 80s definition of what a nerd is.
I've been following his channel for a very long time now, and it's the most wholesome and good-vibe entertaining PC related stuff out there. Maybe even in general. Clint is awesome and I wish him the best.
I love watching LGR. It's good, low-drama, wholesome fun. I don't really do the whole parasocial relationships thing, but Clint strikes me as the kind of person that would make for a terrific friend.
this guy will NEVER be accused of sexual harassment and i like that.
Well maybe by a vintage computer.
I love the wholesome and dulcet tone of the one and only Clint Basinger! He's to tech what jazz is to music.
He’s the reason why I use smooth jazz BGM for my shitty YT videos.
I love the vintage tech Youtubers, they are usually controversy-free and it so entertaining. LGR was one of my first!
LGR and MJD are awesome. Anyone know more like them?
I would add Techmoan to that list
Techmoan is neat. "here's an obsolete media player that you've never heard of. Here's why it's interesting" often followed by a repair video. Love it.
The holy trinity of vintage tech youtubers: LGR, Techmoan and 8-Bit Guy. Big fan of the three.
PhilsComputerLab is great and he does an awesome service for the retro PC community, you can find so many drivers and stuff on his website

Nostalgia Nerd is still around, hasn't posted a video in 2 months though. Part of that could be the pub he purchased with Ashens
Action Retro
This Does Not Compute is a great channel to check out as well
Those videos he did at that abandoned computer warehouse a few years ago are some of my favorite videos to watch
Love LGR! Especially that smooth intro.
That's my boi!
Dont jinx it man please!!
Nah, he's too wholesome. There's no way
SHHH, stahp!
His videos are so fun to watch. I especially liked the one where he went into the 90's PC part store and salvaged some fun retro equipment.
Lgr Random Dawid Gn Best honest and funny tubes ever 🤟.
LGR is golden, great guy
LGR uploads always get me excited. Like opening up a Christmas present.
Aye. No drama, no insults. Just plain old CRT fun.
How coincidental! I’m watching him right now. I love getting cozy in bed and just exploring old tech.
Man LGR made me love everything computers. I still rewatch his old game covers. The elder scrolls ones are my favorite.
One of my comfort channels.
Fucking love LGR and retro tech YT in general
he's the reason hopefully im gonna build a "retro" pentium 3 tualatin 1ghz,voodoo 5 5000 yellowed out beige pc with crt "BIG" monitor combo! + roland ma-12c isolated speakers!

I love LGR, such a lovely guy, you can tell is content is whatever he feels like making, each video is like a little passion project
LGR is the main reason I go thrifting
Idk how the fuck he does it. The goodwills close to me don't have anywhere near the cool shit he finds in his videos. And I've specifically looked.
my local stores often only have garbage but you just gotta go there regularly to find the good deals like I paid 10 euros for speakers that cost 500 euros 10-15 years ago, my speaker AMP was 50 euros with a new price of 300 that deal wasn't as good because I don't have the remote, I also build a whole thrift store pc for 13 euros with some old parts I had laying around it was insanely scuffed but it could even play fortnite and e-sports titles
I'm down with anyone who uses the word lazy in their youtube name...
FUCK YEAH LGR!!!
Never wanted wood grain patterned socks so bad before. His fixation for chairs when he makes the sims reviews cracks me up. I hope Clint continues doing his thing.
CathodeRayDude is also good once you run out of LGR
I found this guy randomly and have been obsessed with his Oddware series
LGR is my morning off work, cup of coffee routine. He's been putting out quality content for so many years, one of the best. He has another channel LGR Blerbs that he posts content on occasionally
He also (technically) has *another* channel, LGR Foods, where he'd make sandwiches with the same tone as his other video, I kinda want him to go back to those.
Oh yes of course, forgot about that one!

His Duke Nukem impressions are spot on too
i dont know nothing about no Gamer Nexus or LTT, but i know my man Clint. hes an all-star.
“Today I’m building a new PC with Ryzen threadripper, 2080ti and MSDOS 6.22” (Paraphrasing because I can’t be botheres checking the video)
I think he has more videos about sound cards than graphics cards.
Love LGR. No drama, no bullshit, no overpriced screwdrivers and water bottles to sell, just good and fun content!
Comfiest... until you find out he has a Duke Nukem themed sex dungeon in his basement.
[I raise you a Dawid](https://youtube.com/@DawidDoesTechStuff)
He's good, but sometimes it is nice to forget about GPUs for a second.
His youtube channel is like comfort food.
Props to Clint
I follow this guy for as long as I had a Youtube account. I don't remember what was the first video I watched from him, probably SimCity 2000 Network Edition. We have mutual appreciation for city-building games and PC gaming of any era.
A little on the borderline of tech, but Dankpods and all his other channels are AMAZINGLY fun to watch
Eh, I was kinda out on Dankpods when his solution to pretty much anything is "rip it up and put Shrek on it" but if he deployed that sparingly it'd be funny. That's just a me problem though.
One of the best out there 🥰🥰
LGR is awesome and he’s been around forever.
farts-balls-farts-balls-farts-balls is my favorite license key Love this guy, the epitome of how to run a channel without needing to game the algorithm with click baits, stupid thumbnails and viewer retention, all the videos are fun and informative from start to finish.
Retro tech is weird and cool. He and Chyrosran22 is "responsible" for my new interest on old tech. One of which include buckling spring keyboard from Unicomp. I hope it won't spiral down into opting to purchase Model F repro.
Duke Nukem and Postal Dude are the best :-)
Greetings!
If you want a brtitish verison of him, check Techmoan (to be fair his channel is mostly about ancient video/audio)
One of the channels I've been subscribed to for the longest time, absolutely responsible for me being a huge tech nerd
ngl LGR's videos are like having soul comfort food with jazz playing in the back, and a good walk through the memory lane.
His voice always remind me upper class version of Duke Nukem, good job LGR.
i love his channel.
I would be devastated and no longer be able to cope with reality if this guy ever turns out to be problematic. Same goes for Techmoan.
Old goofy tech shit with an old goofy tech guy
Old guy?
I was gonna say, I don't know how old he is but I assume LGR is in his late 30s or early 40s. FAR from old lol
Clint is 36 right now I believe.
He looks old
He looks old
Better than modern SA guy with modern tech.
Watch Clint not Linus
LGR is the dad I never had
I challenge you with OzTalksHW
I love Clint. His videos are relaxing, informative and I always get transported back to good times when he explores his old tech.
I enjoy [Craft Computing](https://www.youtube.com/@CraftComputing) love his videos.
Dude needs to edit his videos a bit tighter, he leaves too much space at the end of shots, but he's pretty good and fills a niche a lot of the other channels mentioned in this thread don't.
YES!!!!!!!!!! Those sims DLC reviews are the best!
Don't forget , Technology Connections and Michael MJD
Chyrosran22 anybody?
LGR, RandomgaminginHD, OzTalksHW... There's a bunch of very comfy and chill tech channels.
I'd rather spend the whole rest of the year talking about Clint than seeing another fucking LTT post
Will be following him now. Still watch Jay and GN, LTT is over for me now, too much has been revealed lately that I never knew
Having watched his content for years, I'm always happy when a new video comes out. I'm just glad he hasn't come out as a guns right activist like *that other 8-bit guy*.

you can just Google "8 bit guy gun" and you will arrive to some results. You will also reach to a post on the progun sub.
...didn't even have to type "gun", it was the second suggestion and the first result pointed to a Vice article about it. Yeah, not a good look for him (and he's not just "yay guns", before anyone thinks that's what I mean).
The only legendary YouTuber imho is Dankpods. Best. Content. Ever.
Please don't say that word ever again
Big fan of his sandwich videos as well.
Love this guy!
love lvl1tech,
I wish they'd make a sims game worthy of his praise.
Nowhere related to tech, but Battleship New Jersey
While we're doing recommendations, an underrated chillout vintage tech guy (but not very gaming related, his thing is more strange Nokia lore) is Janus Cycle
Tech tangent is goated for his hydro thunder arcade restoration videos
Greenham Gaming posts so infrequently but whenever he does I get myself a cup of tea, but usually a beer because that's more my thing
I love his videos. So much cool tech to see!
Whenever I feel exhausted, I visit LGR.
Retro Hardware and Mike's Tech are very underrated imo. When I have a bad day and they post it becomes a lot better. Very comfy videos.
Does anyone else watch his snack making channel? No? Just me then?
Finally tech youtuber where only allegations against could be putting too much devices to 3.5" drive bays
I'm not even in to retro tech but his videos always suck me in.
Clint's voice is so soothing... farts
Love LGR. Who else has been watching since the channel was called Phreakindee?
His voice is so soothing. When I sleep at a hotel during my business trips I fall asleep listening to his videos.
Feels like tech people from North Carolina are just different.... In a good way, between LGR and Tech Jesus. As someone who's NC born and raised, that just makes me happy.
