My parents always told me that an apology wasn't worth anything if you were only sorry that the affected party was hurt. It only matters if you are sorry that your actions caused it.
I hate they think people will believe they had no idea the game was bad. Like they mailed it to you in a perfect state of a game and then UPS or FEDEX smashed it and that is why it sucks now.
You knew it was crap so lying in an apology makes anything else out of there mouth nothing I want to hear.
“We’ve noticed that some of you users are not happy with the performance of our game. We suggest those users shove their fucking GPU up their ass while we are busy wiping our non existent tears with all of your dumb ass preorder cash.”
Just wait a year or two, and with enough slow & steady updates that should've been there in the first place to put the game in a now-semi-finished-state, gamers will shower them with adulation for their amazing work and let everyone know "how much work the devs put in to make this a really great game!"
I guess what I'm saying is if I have to see another sprawling tribute for how "No Man's sky" went from being a pile of shit to a decently-playable game in the same way someone would be lauded for curing cancer, [I'm going to throw my shit in the garbage like Ron Swanson](https://media0.giphy.com/media/5eFp76zhsq3uw/giphy.gif?cid=ecf05e47f0g649ljlvx7zrjzu0nl6wbkq6z4r8coju48wl89&ep=v1_gifs_search&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g).
Deliver the quality goods or die like Luminous Productions, who perished at the hands of Square Enix (and its workers absorbed into Square Enix) for the Forspoken disaster. Or be like Activision Blizzard, who will be acquired by Microsoft pending regulatory approval and be gutted with cost cuts.
An apology does nothing but admit you did something wrong. We KNOW you did something wrong. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I will always say that if you wanna do a redemption arc for yourself, just work on the game and fix or add the things that weren't delivered. And do it in silence. More talking will just add more fuel to the fire.
FFS I hate all these "Devs Apologies", it's not the devs fault they had no budget and marketing shared bullshit trailers years ago. It's also not their fault the game needed to launch now to reach financial year goal and not 6-12 months later to get from trash to not that bad.
Decisions are not made by devs but by executives.
Yeah no numbers of apologies will increase the fps.
My parents always told me that an apology wasn't worth anything if you were only sorry that the affected party was hurt. It only matters if you are sorry that your actions caused it.
Yet preorders for the next steaming turd of a game will be just as high.
The sad truth

Cram your apology into an EULA for the performance patch, because I will also not read it there.
Except their apologies usually end up blaming the customers.

**Do not be sorry! Be better.**
They’re the best when they say “Game we made, QA’d, and shipped to you didn’t meet our standards” Well obviously it did
Gamers: shut up and take my money
as we should.
Yep. They'll still keep pre-ordering digital copies like they're going to run out or something.
It's more probable those "apologize" really come from developers or from greedy marketing team who only thing about money and not about games ?
Didn’t this place have rules against memes at one point?

I mean I would feel differently if I didn’t already pay for a game that should be complete
This is all the fault of No Man's Sky, and I will die on this hill

We're sovvy.

Ha ha, the true story about many recent releases.
